Derex, was there a predrilled hole for a stand or did you have to modify it yourself? Penguin, I've never filled a seam before, is there a filler that you recommend? Any particular techniques? Miriya, Thanks for the heads up about the windshield. I might have mongo'd it and broke something. Also, I read your best quote link, and I have to say it was 100% on point. Thanks for all your help. So I'm about to purchase a Yamato 1/60 Fan Racer kit and I had a few questions I would like to ask the experts. 1) Does it come with a stand? Every one of them that I've seen in the forums has a stand. 2) If there isn't a stand is there one that is recommended? 3) I've read that there was a limited run that had Hikaru in his civilian flightsuit. Did anyone make any copies or have an extra? 4) For anyone that has already built it are there any tips or preparation that you would recommend? This is my second project and any advice is always welcome. Thanks guys.

I hated the last paint I used. I'm gonna have to go down to the hobby store and see if they carry some of this Tamiya stuff you guys are talking about.

Thanks SchizophrenicMC. I think the next thing I will pick up is Yamato's 1/60 Fan Racer. Once it's done I might rearrange my display to reflect Hikaru's growth from fan racing weenie to VF-1S stallion.

I need to find somewhere on the internet to watch Macross 7. So far it's the only major Macross I've yet to see.

I knew the colors were off from the get go but my options were limited to Hobby Lobby and some place where they sold some Warhammer stuff. I just moved to a new town and I'm not really familiar with what's around me yet. One thing that I don't understand is why the yellow wouldn't go on evenly. It was always runny looking. Is there a prefered brand and color that is typically used to match those colors?

This is the final product. Not 100% happy with it but I'll get practice in elsewhere and maybe redo it. Any constructive criticism is welcome.

That's awesome Maiden. I had to go back and compare the pics and I'm pretty blown away. I also picked up one of your custom 1/48 guns from AE for one of my Valks and it's by far my favorite accessory on the figure.

I just wrapped up my final achievement last night for the game. I am enjoying the multiplayer though. Anyone that wants to play on Xbox is more than welcome to join me, gamertag is in my profile. As for the game itself, I had a lot of fun. The Insanity Run wasn't to bad, only had problems with the Cerberus tweaker ninja. I'm not all bent out of shape about the ending because I viewed ME3 as a whole as the ending. As for the choices and the way they played out, it didn't bother me any. I made lots of decisions in ME 1 and 2 and saw some of the effects in ME3. For me, ME3 was all about wrapping things up and wrecking some shop. I didn't need any really pivotal plot choices in this one. I was happy just seeing all those clowns from ME2 die. See you guys in the MP.

I went with the yellow and black vertical strips with yellow on the outside with black on the inside for the sides. The neck cover I just painted black. I'll be doing the intake covers when they come in. Thinking maybe a thin yellow stripe on the outside of both covers with the rest being black. When I started this project I had zero experience. I started using a primer on the resin pieces. The black went over it well but when it came to the yellow, it looked really thin and didn't go on well. When I moved onto the resin hands I skipped the primer and did two coats of yellow and it was perfect. Don't know why it worked out that way. The changes themselves added a lot more character but I have a looooooong way to go before I'm customizing any of the Valks themselves. I'll be posting pics once I get the intake covers in and painted.

I love the cooler on the back of the truck, it just needs some straps over it or it's gone in a quarter mile......don't ask why I would know something like this. Looks awesome HWR.
