  1. These MEGO-style eight-inch figures should serve your needs well, then.
  2. Note that, since Hot Toys based their Predator figures on standard male bodies, they're not actually 1:6 scale. Given the actual height of Kevin Peter Hall (2.18m), Ian Whyte (2.16m) or Brian A. Prince (2.08m), the Predator figures should be considerably taller. Note Robert Patrick is only 1.83m tall: The Hot Toys T-1000 is an accurate 1:6 scale, but the Predators definitely aren't. As it stands (or rather, as they stand), they're barely 1:7 scale... ...and as somebody who likes their bad guys larger-than-life as it is, you should probably be looking for smaller-scale human "prey" to display them with.
  3. A "big" reference to the animated series, too... ...and I particularly appreciated Boimler's use of "insurrect" as a verb. 😄
  4. I display mine next to the old pre-painted Bandai kit... I think they scale quite well together.
  5. Is that a subtle jungle camo paint scheme I see, or just really bad compression artifacts? Either way, it's a lousy camera. 😅 I'd recommend the XL Reliant: That also describes the navigational deflector on the Ambassador-class Enterprise (as previously discussed in this thread).
  6. And yet, you kept the olive drab color on the flat deck portion in the center. That's what I was talking about before; creative decisions like that make your work distinct and memorable. No, the blasters can't be glued down, or you won't be able to move them in and out of firing position. See, when the Biovers are deployed, the blasters are retracted: ...and they remain that way pretty consistently in flight. This position mirrors their placement in this animation model sheet: ...which places them about here on Cap's model. However, in firing position, they're extended forward considerably... ...as this piece of line art depicts: ...which therefore places them up here on the model. So, in order to maintain fidelity with the source material, you have to be able to move them forward and back. It was my failure of engineering that led to the damage, since the drum at the base of the control yoke needs to be moved out of the way before the blasters can be repositioned... Live and learn, I guess. Not if you understand the function of adjectival modifiers in English: The purpose of a "house painter" is to paint houses. The purpose of a "cockroach exterminator" is to exterminate cockroaches. The purpose of a "Bioroid Terminator" would be to terminate Bioroids. If that was the intent, Matchbox should've called them "Terminator Bioroids." Obviously Matchbox wasn't clear on how Robotech defined Bioroids either, though. Really, the only way "Bioroid Terminator" makes sense is if Matchbox assumed "bioroid" meant malfunctioning clones... which seems unlikely. What seems far more likely is that they just didn't give a damn. 🤨
  7. I believe I mentioned unforseen setbacks earlier... It's gonna take me a week to strip, sand and repaint the primer, surfacer, base color, primary color, highlight color, and topcoat layers again. 😩 Official publications identify them as "combat armor worn by Zor soldiers." I don't think they were originally designed to terminate Bioroids, however. I mean, why would you want your soldiers to take out your own mecha? 🤨 Seriously, how could a guy in body armor even terminate a Bioroid...? What does that even mean? The Robotech nomenclature is as nonsensical as calling organically-grown clones "androids."
  8. Looks like Netflix must've been hedging their bets with the Masters of the Universe license... 🤨 This appears to be a CG update of the 2002 series.
  9. That's what MakeToys were charging for their Seekers, which is considerably less than what XTB or FansToys would charge... and less than HALF what TakaraTomy wants for MP-52.
  10. ...and more significantly, he was considerably larger than the others.
  11. Get yourself a Blu-Ray player, and join us in the 21st century. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Rad-Blu-ray/283065/
  12. If their latest release is any indication, I'd say they have: This is their homage to the Wildrider G1 toy. It's a substantial remold, almost a pallette-swap away from being a different character entirely... ...and it greatly resembles the G1 toy (except in articulation, of course). For $75 USD shipped, I have no complaints or criticisms whatsoever. All the tolerances are perfect, the paint is resilient and looks great, the tires feel like hard rubber, and the knees are nicely ratcheted.
  13. Ouch. I guess they couldn't get the rights to use Wayne Knight's likeness.
  14. We know your mantra, Podtastic. "Alien antagonists or STFU." We know. 😅
  15. If I may make a suggestion: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_Robo:_The_Day_the_Earth_Stood_Still It's a '90s OAV series in a deliberately '70s style, with animation so exquisite it took nearly a year for each episode to be produced. It shares a lot of Evangelion's angst, but it's also twice the fun. Mecha fans will throw recommendations at you left, right and center, but nothing comes close to Giant Robo. 🔒
  16. That hardly seems like a realistic expectation. Retailers are Hasbro's primary customers, so of course they take priority. It's all about buying power.
  17. I posted those screengrabs to demonstrate the futility of trying to establish a consistent color, much less trying to match said color. I think your color choice is entirely justified by the animation, so it shouldn't bother you at all. That Matchbox red-and-yellow scheme, on the other hand...
  18. Waiting for paint to dry has been a real struggle for me, especially with this unseasonably wet weather and omnipresent humidity. 😩 That has more to do with lighting than the type of camera you're using, actually. Now, concerning color, some of you may remember the work I did color-correcting Southern Cross DVD masters to get accurate color reference for this project: Having done this work, and established a consistent set of colors for the 'Lloyds, here's a pop quiz. Which color accurately reflects how the biovers were painted in the anime? 🤓 The answer, of course, is... ...all of the above. Turns out they vary greatly from one episode to the next. Thanks, Tatsunoko. But hey, at least we have official merchandise for color reference: Now all I need to do is source Zentraedi markings for decals...
  19. Armored mode isn't terrible, but... the less said about the bikes, the better. Ugh. If that oversized Invid was going to happen, I might've bit regardless, but there's no way I'm gonna shell out for these tiny figures that scale with nothing. I'm a Mospeada whore, but I still have some self-respect, you know?
  20. They are the same product. 😅 Tamashii means "spirit." Some product listings render the Japanese phonetically, and some translate the word into English.
