  1. Not so sure that "The Thing" prequel I've been so excited about will be worth being excited about. I hope I'm wrong!

  2. Hell yes it is. Glad I have a few months to start saving for this bad boy. If it costs as much as the Fire Valk, I'm gonna need to start saving NOW!
  3. I had no idea the Fire Valk had ankles that flexible. This Valk is really starting to grow on me. Is it really that much better than the 1:60 yF-19?
  4. VF-11D? That's awesome! Can't wait. Now, to rob a bank to pay for all these new valks. Or, I can just steal legally and become a politician or a banker!
  5. I'm in. One of the coolest fighter jet modes in Macross, and that's sayin' a lot.
  6. Damn! SOLD OUT! I didn't think these were going to be THAT popular. I hope I can find a set! Or will these become as illusive as some of the other 1/60 releases...
  7. To "hide" those giant 1:48 scale boxes, try some of the following: Put them behind a bookshelf. Or Behind the fancy head board of the bed, or even under the bed. In the hall closet. In the back. The wife's jackets should hide them perfectly. In the pantry in the kitchen. Behind the food. No one will even know.
  8. Brilliant. Not quite to 1:18 scale, but a million times better than the Matchbox version of the 80's (and ExoSquad reissue of the 90's).
  9. I had two suggestions, but it was only because the other pictures weren't loading. That was: 1) Order for different fighters (1S, 1J, 1A and maybe even a 1D). But I saw you did that when the other pictures loaded. 2) Cocpit. Again, this was resolved once the slow pictures (It's more like MY slow internet) materialized. Question. Is the canopy on the final going to be "clear" or painted plastic? And does the canopy close with the pilot still in the cockpit or does the pilot have to be removed from the cockpit? If the pilot remains in the cockpit, then a clear canopy might add a lot of feel to this toy. If the pilot has to be removed, then a clear cockpit would be awesome, but a painted canopy would work just as well. The stand is a great touch too. Size wise, are these going to be about 3 - 4 inches long? They'd be a great compliment to a display. I would buy several of these, depending which Valks you'd make. They look fantastic. Great work, as always!
  10. Me too. I really loved the v2, but after playing with a FireBomber 19, I think there could be some great things in store for our beloved YF.
  11. Is your Avatar the new 1/3000 Yamato SDF-1 painted to the TV color scheme?

  12. For me, they are not retirement. You'll have to pry my Valks from my dead fingers. But getting a hold of some of these toys or being forced to get them on the secondary markets suck. Damn you Japanese Web exclusives!
  13. Damn it, Captain! You are talented. This is just epic. I'm very curious to see the final product. Just makes me wish I didn't miss the boat on this one.
  14. WOW! Love the 22S. Thanks for sharing!
  15. Thanks man. You have all been very, very helpful. I think I'm going to get the 1/144. It's probably the closest we'll get to a 1/60 scale Monster. (Can you imagine the damn size of a 1/60)? It'll cost more than a car! Other question. Do you paint first before putting the parts together? Or put the parts together in sections and then paint? Thanks again for all the help!
  16. I Just checked my new super 1J... Yup. Cracked Shoulders. D'Oh! Maybe I should pick up a few extra of these kits when they get released.
  17. Me too. I missed out on a lot of the 1/60's thinking I had more time to buy them, or they'd get reissued (M & M) but never did... This GBP is just pure awesome. Makes me sad I missed this one too! Thanks for the pics!
  18. $215 USD for a model is not cheap. The 1/144 I found was much, much cheaper, but I just discovered it's a recast. Again, not 100% sure what that means, but it sounds to me like recast is a fancy word for bootleg.
  19. Thanks for the comparisons. I just started collecting the 1/60's a few months back, and only have 2. Both are the 1D, so there's no way to really color compare them. (One is Blue, the other is tan-ish). Your color photos helped a lot. Thanks for taking the time to share. These unpainted kits are pretty exciting. It's perfect to customize.
  20. Thanks for the heads up! I saw a few of the 1/200's for CHEAP. I think you're right, as a new modeler, this may be the way to go. I just LOVE the Monster. I don't know why. But it just reeks of awesome. I think I'm going to try the 1/200 for practice. Then, maybe I'll move on to the resin 1/144. Has anyone worked with Resin? Do I need special paints? And lastly, can anyone recommend a mid ranged (price wise) airbrush system that just works well for you? Thanks in advance. You guys ROCK!
  21. Damn. That was spot on. My wife basically told me the same thing recently. And that is awesome. She understands that they make me happy, and she supports that (even if she doesn't understand the hobby itself). I do have some friends who do NOT understand my collection. Yet, they'll drop 2 grand to get a single ticket for the big football game. In 4 hours, their adventure is over. Mine. Well, they'll stay with me for the rest of my life. (Hopefully). To each his own, I guess. Point is, do what makes you happy. And if people don't like it, you just gotta be a honey badger.
  22. I have to disagree. The Mattel MOTU classics line has turned into a butchered over priced market driven by scalpers leaving most of the fans in the cold, forcing to buy prices beyond the already inflated Mattel on-line price. Toynami has the right idea about their 1/100 line. It's inexpensive. Customizable. And let's face it, the most fun you'll ever have for 20 bucks. :-) I do like their enemy mecha. But, I agree that the line should have been broken up. A great example of this is Beagle. They had an amazing product with their Mospeada Bikes. Had they released the Fuke (or even Yellow for that matter) as the 1st or second release, we probably would have had 3 MOSPEADA releases instead of 2. Saturating a market with the same mold only works in Transformers, GI JOE and Star Wars lines. Many bash Toynami. But I still support them. Some of their products are fantastic. This includes the 1/100 line. And, even though I am a little tired of the Regult/Battlepods, I have made several purchases of each hoping to help pave the way for the Glaug, Elintseeker, GBP, Super Ostrich and the VT-1D 1/100 toys. I agree that everyone has a right to express their opinion. But if you hate Toynami and/or Robotech, then to paraphrase another member....go play in another sandbox.
  23. Win. That's as close as we're probably going to get. Ha ha!
