  1. You and me BOTH! Actually, I purchased one. I usually go balls out and order the entire series, but something told me to hold back. SOOOOO glad I did. If this one has better paint apps and is better designed, I will probably get to go "balls out" on Macross Frontier!
  2. Don't know how viable this is, but I have been told that in addition to sunlight, that certain types of cigarette smoke (cigar too, I imagine) can also cause plastic to oxidize (turn yellow).
  3. Interesting. Wonder if they'll release this in the kit version too! That would be epic. Although I heard the kit is a pain in the you know what to fully assemble. Still, I think I'd enjoy the challenge!
  4. Thanks for the scale! Yeah, that's a big model kit! I may check out that 1/144.
  5. Yeah, rubbing alcohol and BanDai paint do NOT MIX. I've had better luck with Yamato's paint. Been working on an Alaska Guard custom, and let's just say, some of the original Yamato paint wasn't cooperating very well when it came time to take it off. My VF-25 on the other hand, had paint chips even before taking it out of the box! But with all things mass produced, we will all have different experiences, I'm sure. For cleaning, I use a feather duster and canned air. If I have to "get in there," I use my Oakley sunglass cleaner (unlimited lifetime refills) and a microfiber cloth. Now when I go into the Oakley store to refill the cleaner, I neglect to tell them that their sunglass cleaner also works wonders on my imported collectibles.
  6. I'm with you on that! It's amazing that a collection of that magnitude and I was still able to take my eyes off it enough to notice the display case. That's saying a high praise for those mods. And for the case itself, honestly, for the price, you can't beat it. The mod just makes it that much better. Instead of a 14 square inch display area, you now have a 14 by 28 inch. Plenty of room to display some of those giant toys.
  7. I got a soft spot for this mech. I really, really *LOVE* the fighter. The batroid is very unique. Don't know if I've ever seen it's gerwalk... I hope Yamato takes a stab at this. I agree with >EXO< that it has a LOT of potential. I use to dislike the YF-21 Batroid until the 1:60 was released. Hopefully a good toy of this figure will swing some fans in favor of this unique mech. I digress. This is one of the most beautiful scratch builds of that era. Take that with a grain of salt from a big fan of the VF-4.
  8. They're getting pretty hard to find. Next year is Macross' 30th. I'm sure many of the Yammie Valks will be reissued.
  9. I know it's a pipe dream, but I was so hoping to get a 1:60 Monster. I know, I know. I just assumed the other two Destroids would see a release date. I guess I don't mind doing the model thing as long as it's not going to destroy me financially to get one (or two). And two, that these kits can be obtained easily. The future looks grim for our 1:60 Destroids...
  10. Nope. My understanding is Christmas. Light Artillery Battlepod is due August 32nd.
  11. Wow. That scratchbuild modeler has some mad skills. That painter is pretty amazing too!
  12. It's costing me quite a bit in trades. But, I think I'm going to pick it up. I will ask if has another one for you!
  13. That is insane! Is this a custom scratch build kit, too? That paint scheme.... Just unbelievably well done!
  14. Thanks for the heads up! I am new to modeling. I have not done it since I was 7. But I love Macross, and I figured it would be a good way to me to explore a new aspect of this universe.
  15. Hey! Someone has one of these for trade. I was thinking about picking it up. I asked for measurements. This is the answer I got: 300 by 170. Assuming this is in millimeters, that's 11.8 inches long by 6.69 inches tall. That seems a little...small for the "Big" Monster kit. I know there is a 1:200 kit out there. Maybe this guy got his kits mixed up. Or, maybe he is right. I tried to do some research on Google, but didn't really come up with much. Can anyone here help confirm the size of the 1:160 scale Macross Monster (assembled)? And, has anyone put this kit together? Opinions? Thoughts? Any other "classic" Macross kits you'd also recommend? (1/72 scale or larger). Thanks in advance for anyone's help. I appreciate it.
  16. If I may, I just got a notification that the Canada Post is on strike. All mail to and from Canada (international) have been greatly delayed due to this. Just an FYI. Your mail will get to you. Just a lot slower than normal.
  17. THAT is exactly what I was hoping for. The Matchbox Invids are very, very out of date.
  18. That is some incredible work. Makes me want to go out and get these kits! Just awesome!
  19. I need to make that into a shirt and wear it at the next Robotech pannel. I think it will go over REAL well! Ha ha!
  20. I think there was an official 1/24 release as well, back in the day. A non-transforming toy. (No, not the Matchbox version). VERY hard to find. I think there is actually one on eVil Bay right now. Just be prepared to sell your first born son. There are Different Lines: BanDai "Chunky Monkey" ReIssues 1/55 BanDai High Metal 1/100 BanDai Frontier 1/60-ish BanDai VB-4 Monster 1/110 (1/100 ish) Yamato 1:48 Yamato 1:60 (version 1 and version 2) Yamato GNU 1:100 (I think this is approximate, need to verify)
  21. The Toynami Light Artillery Battlepod was produced. It's finished. It's sitting in China right now waiting to get shipped to the USA. (If you are outside the USA, I understand that it must get shipped to the USA PRIOR to finding its way to non-domestic destinations). However, BEFORE it can be shipped, a quota supply order needs to be filled. Not sure if this order has to be from Toynami or other vendors, but the Light Artillary Battlepod is completed. I've been told Khyron's Battlepod (Officer's Battlepod) will be the NEXT Toynami toy made. Nothing mentioned about the 1/100 Elintseeker/GBP or SuperOstrich. :-( There is a new Robotech "movie" coming out. Has something to do with Lancer ("yellow"). That is due for release some time early 2011 with official press release towards the end of the year. A new 30th anniversary 3 CD set remastered soundtrack. I think this was also set for a Christmas 2011 release. The live action movie is still in the works. It will be a "modernized re-imagined" Robotech. Most likely from the Macross saga. The Shadow Chronicles sequel is on hiatus temporarily until the LAM is done. Whispers about a possible Shadow Beta as an exclusive, but take that one with a grain of salt. Marcus Shadow fighter on hiatus. Maybe never released. That's all I know.
  22. Ha ha! I knew you were going to pick that one. I remember how hard you searched looking to get your hands on one of these! Glad you finally found one! It is a magnificent piece of Mecha! The fighter and battroid are very intimidating!
  23. I'm telling you. I was so excited it would make some kind of small comeback with all the different products released recently. But most of them were overpriced in an economy that didn't allow for most fans to indulge in that kind of luxury. Furthermore, many of the toys did not prove their worth in regards to their price point. I'm sure there are other factors involved, but Mospeada has indeed fallen back into it's own recession.
