  1. Couple of people noted that the armor was loose when put on the Valk. I think anymoon.com had a review up, but I may be mistaken.
  2. The fact I can buy toys at all shows that I am VERY willing, especially considering I had to take a 90% pay cut.
  3. Man, I feel ya. These toys had such potential. A revised version is needed and would be AWESOME.

2 out of 7? That's nearly 1/3 of your collection. You're okay with 30% or so of your toys to be defective right out of the box? Maybe money isn't as tight for you as it is for me, but that that's just not acceptable. At all. So, yes, it is a major concern with me. Which is why, as a consumer who does not get to buy as many toys as I'd like, that the toys I do buy actually NOT be defective. Others out there may be in the same boat as me, which is why it is important that other fans are educated on these issues. As far as the 0D, I have hopes that, even though Yamato won't be making one, that there will be a kit a fan makes here to convert an 0A or something. I've seen some pretty amazing customs here on the forums. I've got my hopes up!
  5. I got super excited when I was a kid to get ANY Robotech Variable fighter toys. They just weren't that available when I was growing up. When I FINALLY got the VF-1J-S Matchbox abomination, I cannot tell you how disappointed I was that this thing did NOT transform. (Not to mention, it just looks like poo). I remember taking it apart, and the legs did swing out with some minor alterations-so the prototype probably turned into a guardian at least. But all the corners they cut...it was just a bad, bad toy.
  6. WOW! This actually REALLY helped mine! I had to loosen the screw. If you take it slow and easy, loosen a little bit and test the wing, you'll find the perfect screw position. And I just opened myself up to all kinds of sexual jokes there. Thanks for the tips on FIXING my VF-22s Max. Really appreciate it!
  7. I'm sorry that happened to you, Loop. I had a few of the V.2 1/60's break on me, so I know the feeling.
  8. There is the third factor, the financial one. I'm making about 1/10th of what I did in 2005, for the same amount of work. My industry is really suffering, and it's getting harder and harder to get by. Money is a HUGE issue for me, Because I only make a dime for every dollar I use to make. I just have less liquid cash for my toys.
  9. There is a lot of Robotech hate here. And it is NOT necessary. Robotech and Macross are two separate unrelated intellectual properties. Macross fans can HATE Robotech all they want. But without Robotech, Macross would not have the international fan base it enjoys today. Without this international following, there would be a much smaller primary and secondary markets for merchandise and yes, even new shows. I'm not saying there would NOT be international Macross fans, but Robotech did introduce many of it's western audience to the joys of eastern animation and storytelling.
  10. Has anyone picked one of these up? I'm wondering how the DYRL paint scheme works with this particular version.
  11. That is looking really, really good! Excellent work!
  12. I own about 50 of the 1:48's. They are MUCH better quality than the V2 1/60's. The only issues are: 1. Some of them have slight gaps. The biggest issue is my 1:48 Miria, which has a gap between the cockpit when the canopy is closed. Honestly, it's not that bad either. But it is there. 2. Some of the rubber comes loose on the hips. It's an easy fix. in 3. Be careful of the BP-8 part. This is the hinge where the tail fins of the fighter fold into the "backpack" in battroid. Use caution when attaching superparts or GBP's. I've heard stories of this part breaking (has not happened to me yet, knock on wood). Two of my Valks have slight stress marks at this point. Luckily, SILVERDRAGON on the boards makes a replacement part. Overall, the 1:48's are probably the most durable of the valks, behind the 1:55 chunky monkey. Watch a few you tube videos on how to transform it, follow the directions carefully the first few times you do the transformation yourself, and you'll learn how the parts fit into place. Do this, and you should NOT have any issues with breakage. Enjoy!
  13. I wonder what the price point will be on that Officer's Battlepod? It's so much larger than the standard battlepod. My guess is 50 - 60. And if it's as good as that resin display piece, it will be worth every dime!
  14. I agree. Those decals just give that Valk a life of it's own! Just sexy!
  15. Please share some pics with us once you get it! Since I cannot afford it, maybe I can vicariously enjoy the regult through you!
  16. That's just too bad. Cause it looks awesome with those Tornado packs!
  17. Yamato's 1/60 Destroid Pharanx? That would be AWESOME. I also heard rumors of the Yamato 1:60 VF-17 Nightmare. There will also be a plethora of repaints of the Yamato VF-19 Fire Valk. As for that Vinyl SDF-1...I know that was a joke, but that honestly may be pretty cool!
  18. This toy is simply amazing. Wow. Love the shot with the other destroids!
  19. That is GREAT help! Thanks for the insight!
  20. I didn't like the Orange repaint of the 19 at first, but it has really grown on me after seeing some of the pictures members have posted here. It's a beautiful toy.
