  1. Nice. I agree and I stand corrected! I have a deep appreciation for the 51. But that love had to evolve. When I first saw a test shot of Zero, I was like, "what in the F@#k is that thing?" Give it time. The 51 will grow on you. The 25 / 27 is fugly too. But what is different about the 51 is that it is it's own entity. The 25 and the 27 is a Frankenstein. It's a fusion of numerous valk designs used in the past. The feet belong to the 51. The nose is reminiscent of the 19 and the 11. I see some of the Zero in there too. I guess in some ways it's an analogy to the entire Macross Frontier storyline. Granted, it's cool, but to me, it's just rehashed segments of what we already know. The 51 is fresh. Original....and still ugly. But ugly in that good way. And, when it is armed with its armor parts (fast packs) it is very intimidating. To me the 25 isn't that scary. But again, it's all preference.
  2. I agree. I was only joking before, and I do not want anything to sever this relationship because of my terrible sense of humor.
  3. That would be awesome if that were true. I've nearly completed my 1/48 collection and customs, and will be looking to move over to the 1/60's soon. I'm just scared of spending that kind of money on a toy that has a history of defects.
  4. My pal had one that broke after being transformed once. He is also having trouble with his two seaters. However... There is a VF-1S Super set with a flashlight that is suppose to be rock solid. My advice, stay away from the 1/60's until Yamato has this issue worked out.
  5. As much as these small guys are growing on me, I think I just may hold out for the 1/60.
  6. Not great, bizarre! It's the strangest VF in the entire Macross saga. It's kinda of like a Pug. It's so ugly, it's almost cute.
  7. Been there, and will do that again soon.
  8. I heard that he wasn't. But that's all hearsay considering I don't own this puppy yet. But man, am I ever tempted. You enjoying yours? Everyone seems to be happy with it for the most part.
  9. There is a seller based out of Sinapore I believe who is selling an Englished subtitled set for 50 shipped, I believe. It also includes all the specials and movies. If you can't find it, send me a PM. I'll get you an item number.
  10. I would die of a heart attack on the spot if that happened to me. Ha ha!
  11. I agree too. It is stupid that anything requires the consumer to repair it. Especially a 200 dollar toy. I do a lot of research for most of my buys. It's sad we have to. But I let other consumers vent about their QC issues, so when I do take the plunge, I don't get ripped off. Needless to say, that tactic doesn't always work, either. See my own gripe below. And it is terrible that consumers have to do this. I don't make anywhere near the amount of money I use to, so when I do buy something, damn it, I go the extra mile to ensure it's a purchase I can live with. My gripe is reiterating a point you brought up. The QC has gone down a lot over the years. I've had nothing but trouble with the new Yamato 1/60 VF-1's, for example, and nearly all my 1/48's are...well, they're not perfect. But far, far less QC issues than with the 1/60 VF-1's. It's not just Yamato. I've also noticed this with Takara's Masterpiece Transformers. After Magnus, it was all down hill. Thundercracker is the worst, and Grimlock was really, really bad. This is where the reasearch does not always pay off. Cause if you search the net, all you hear is the MP Grimlock is the new messiah of transformers. I've owned a few, and let me tell you, every one of them have been poo. Can I say poo here? Too damn late now. I have not purchased the Ban Dai 1/60 Macross 25 toys, but I have heard some scary things. As much as I love the 25, I love my sanity more, so that is one Valk I just cannot bring myself to buy. Here's hoping BanDai re-issues it with all those absurd issues fixed. It's hit and miss out there as a toy collector. We live in a world of 200+ dollar toys, whose QC is for poo. There I go cursing again. Do your research, but even then, it doesn't always save you. Not everything is as perfect as the new Star Wars AT-AT. (But Valkyries are far more intricate...but they also are much smaller, have no electronics, and cost 2X's as much)...
  12. Man, I never thought of that. I have to agree with you. Now when I look at my Drift, all I see is Springer. Have you seen the Fansproject's Warbot Defender? It is the ultimate Springer toy. I mostly collect Binaltechs, so I only wish he was slightly larger in scale-but that is such a minor gripe for such an amazing toy.
  13. I had 3 of the 180 dollar Takara Grimlocks, and they were all the same shotty QC. The Masterpiece Thundercracker was even worse. (Again, Takara-Tomy)
  14. There is a poster advertising this figure, and I believe it mentions Devistator will be a foot tall. The figure in that picture is probably an over sized prototype.
  15. Los Angeles? Man, I had to live on the opposite coast from LA. If I win the lotto between now and then, I'm there. I love the pics from last years convention. I think my favorite was the SDF-1 cake! I told my wife I wanted that cake for my birthday (in a few days) and showed her the picks. She just laughed at me. I think that means no. Ha ha!
  16. How big are these figures? Are they like the CM's?
  17. I know. I need to pick up a Ghost, but they're going for 80 - 100 + dollars a pop on EvilBay after shipping. Ouch. They are being re-issued? I hope I can get my set cheap.
  18. Man, you are always hooking up MW members. That's cool of you bro.
  19. Um.... It's too bad that as much as we pay for these toys that we have some of the imperfections affiliated with these releases...but as long as they get fixed in the end, I guess all is well.
  20. I must be in the minority here. I do love the 11B, but the 11C just looks so much more...bad ass. Of course, if you don't look at the pilot. Ha ha!
  21. Max is just a bad ass. Back on subject...Yeah. That green regult color scheme is a bit off.
