  1. HLJ can be slow. Trust me, I feel your pain! When you spend that kind of $$ on a toy, you kind of want it sooner than later.
  2. Really? Interesting... Is it durable? Can you handle the valk after using watercolors?
  3. Does the new release of the 19 still come with the fastpacks?
  4. That is pure genius! I'm going to have to try this. If only there was a store withing 300 miles of me that sold Sakura brush pens.
  5. I still disagree. If you look at a VF-1 MP vs. the Alpha MP, the Alpha is a much, much better toy. Is the Alpha a great toy, hell no. But compared to the VF-1, hell yes. Yes, the Cyclones were produced by Beagle, but the Betas were not. The Betas were Toynami. Now, the Betas are not a perfect toy either, but honestly, it's pretty damn close. I *LOVE* mine. They look amazing on a shelf in either mode, and they kick the crap out of the lousy CM's. The 1/100 vinyl Battlepods are also a fantastic toy, and probably the BEST Macross related toy you can find in that price range. As far as their inability to fix the Alphas, I think the design of that toy is just over engineered and there isn't much anyone can do to fix it. I think it's time they started over from scratch on that mold. Or, as Jenius suggested on Anymoon, they scrap the die cast, and just use a good plastic. Back on subject, I got my Max VF-22s. The toy is a bit unique in how it transforms. I really love it over all, but I do feel they cut some corners on three things. One, the guns should be able to store on the internals on the belly of the plane. It looks as if they retooled those panels, they would fit, and would still clear the landing gear. Two, it needs a blast shield. And three, the nose really needs to lock down in Battroid. But I am being picky. Overall, it's just beautiful. Especially in fighter mode. It really looks fantastic on a shelf. And the 22s head is just kick @$$. Very happy. I cannot wait to get the Millia.
  6. I think the Large Exo Squad are around 1:72 scale, and the smaller ones are 1:144. I haven't been able to locate mine, so this is from my old man memory. Be warned.
  7. WOW! That Alpha/Beta hookup looks fantastic.
  8. I'm curious about that as well.
  9. BBTS has it for $199.00 if you're stateside. If you wait until Joel runs one of his specials, you can get an extra 10% - 20% off. http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/search.aspx?search=konig+monster If you're in Los Angeles, hit Frank and Sons. You can deal with some of the venders. Usually, if you are paying in cash, you'll get a pretty damn good deal.
  10. I've got a few of these too. I really like them when I have my Valks on Display. For example, I'll have my 1/3000 SDF-1 on a pair of flexi displays, and I'll have Misa in the background. They're great for stuff like that. But honestly, anime52k8 hit the nail on the head. They're $20.00 cool yes, $21.00 cool...no.
  11. Man, that's just awesome. Good for you! I know what you mean about marriages. Most of my pals get married, and a year or two tops, then they're divorced. I've been married for over 2 years, but we dated about 5 years before that. It feels great to live with someone who just appreciates you. And your Macross/Mospdeada collecting. Even if they don't fully get it.
  12. I have a few extras. If you have any extras, let me know. Maybe we can trade of each other's extras.
  13. Wow! If you look at that armor set it looks so...large. Glad it's not a Yamato toy, with the way they USE TO "over box" their toys.
  14. That's a relief. Don't know too many people who like their 25's. Let's hope BanDai fixes them up and reissues them. And also...I took a 90% paycut recently. So, yeah, I hear ya on the disposable income. Soon, very soon I hope.
  15. You get to be one of the first to actually handle the prototype. That is pretty awesome.
  16. Yeah. It's a sweet looking set. But from what I gather, the entire Macross Frontier 1:60 Bandai line (except the VF-27) are not toys at all. Just display pieces. Not that I play with my toys...but I do handle them. A lot. Transform them, re arrange them. It's hard for me to justify that kind of money on a "display piece." I really hope BanDai re-designs the 25 to be more in line with their 27's. Cause the 25 is a great Valk. And the Tornado parts really make it that more kick @$$.
  17. Was there a reason why they designed the wings to be removable? Or, was it just in case it broke, like CM's did with the Mospeada Ride Armor extra parts?
  18. See, it's odd with those repaints. I also collect Transformers, and man, I use to get so aggravated with their repaints. But for some reason, I'm okay with it in the Macross / Mospeada universe. Even with the yamato 1:60 Destroids. I had to get one of each variant. That's 8 toys from 2 molds. But I don't care. I love my Macross / Mospeada stuff. It just makes me happy. Repaints or not. Takes different strokes, I guess.
  19. Yup. I use to live in Los Angeles. There was this store called PUZZLE ZOO on the 3rd Street. Anyhow, I remember talking to one of the employees there. They use to carry Yamato Valks, and all of a sudden stopped. I asked them why, and he told me HG threatened legal action against them for carrying "non licensed Robotech products," since it was being sold in the USA and NOT endorsed by HG, who owns the rights to Macross distribution in the USA. THAT is a bunch of BS. DARKWIND, that is cool that you got to travel the world like that. I would do almost anything to visit Japan, but my wife is afraid how much money I'd spend! That is a great busted moment!
  20. CM's makes great stuff. There is also a Hikaru version as well. You should check out the other CM's figures from that line. They're really awesome.
