  1. Gah! I want to buy that VF-11b (Isamu/cool UN Spacy guy > Spiritia drained repetitive cannon fodder) soooo bad! I know we have a separate thread for the awesomeness of the VF-11, but I don't have any of the YF-21/VF-22 mold either, and I heard that was awesome as well. I like the Vf-11b a biiit more, but is it really THAT different from the VF-1 to justify it instead of the -22? Also, is it bigger than the VF-1?
  2. I dunno, but I thought it was kinda cool Then again, I've always wanted to play with teh cr@zy skillz of Raid3n But yeah, I REALLY liked the original trailer by Kojima. I wish, even with the designer shift, they used the same engine rather than this random hack 'n slash engine. Graphics would have benefited as well in my opinion. Oh well, its got the title "metal gear", and it stars Raiden. One way or another, it will sell
  3. Is "White Wolf" Wolf Eneacle or is it a different guy? In that picture posted by azreal, he doesn't seem old enough at all, especially compared to how much older flit has gotton. I thought White Wolf was Wolf Eneacle's son or something along those lines....
  4. What's PCC? Pyridinium Chlorochromate? I wouldn't think so.....
  5. So, it all really depends on whether the the -17D will be Diamond Force or not. If it is Diamond Force, then the stripes should be blue. If not, they should be white. I think we all know what course of action Yamato will be taking by this reasoning....
  6. I don't think you're blowing it out of proportion Mommar. I experienced the same issue to the same magnitude that you are. But, I got rid of the thing, although I didn't want to scam the recipient by telling him it was perfect, so I let him know the issues, and sold it at a reasonable price (about 2/3 what I paid for it). At this point, if you can't return it outright, this is the course of action I would follow (just my personal opinion though). Although I was fresh out of around 90 bucks, I am happy with what I got, and so was he. It was a good trade, and taught me a lesson to look before I leap. I'm waiting on that YF-19, which I hope will have ratchets....
  7. ZOMG, Why is Bandai soooooo bad with re-releasing items. Both this and the Alto V.2 are extremely hard to find at reasonable prices (this moreso than the Alto VF-25). Doesn't Bandai understand that there is a LOT of current market demand for both of said items? It'd be nice for them to at least notify us of a re-release if one is in the pipeline!
  8. Raptor One, in a flame war, I want you on my side!
  9. Just wondering, but when does that group buy end (for either packs, ozma or alto)? Also, anyone know where I can pick up an alto for < $200?
  10. You, kind sir, are one of the bravest people I've ever met. Not a week with the toy and you're already disassembling the darn thing!
  11. ik, but it'd be soooo cool. I like the thinner profile of the v.2 Vf-25, which would be great on a VF-27. My hopes for an awesome VF-27 have been relegated to waiting for a Yamato one though.
  12. Hmmm...that is interesting. Screw up in the late CAD designing stages, and just decided to roll with it?
  13. Errr...fine, the Gerwalk pose thing was a bit of a stretch, but I wasn't kidding as for the n00b doing the splits imagery in my head I don't know, but I would like it if there was actual front and back pivoting in the ankles, for those coolio poses that most Gerwalk's do (like the mid - air stop pose on a stand). As for the Yamato's long lasting toy principle.....I think it's been a long time coming, and almost there Truth be told, I don't mind ball joints either, as they are really posable, but I just thought that it would be more justifiable to have ratchets in such a crucial area such as the ankle joints Edit: As for Eugimon's post though, that brings up a whole 'nother sequence of issues
  14. lulz, well, for the more recent releases at least
  15. I guess it was just me and Mommar that got screwed with our specific models. Put my Kai in pic # any of those that you posted, and given a few seconds, the nose would be in the ground, reglardless of surfaces. I tried carpeting, hardwood, tile, granite, marble, etc. (inherently, hard and soft floors), and just nothing. Also, its apparent in those pics that the essence of true gerwalk just isn't being achieved. In all of those pics, the ankles are pointed forwards, relying inherently on solely the sideways bend to achieve stability. In a real, and imo, cooler looking gerwalk, the feet would be parrallel with the rest of the leg, with a bend being placed on the forward and backward moving hinge rather than sideways. Honestly, to me, that sidways bend looks like a n00b failing at the splits..... Sure, ball joints are great, but I don't think they fit with yamato's principle of toys that last a long time. ball joints in such a crucial joint are bound to loosen eventually anyways, regardless of initial solidity or not. lulz, maybe I'm just overthinking this. I just hope the VF-17 joints won't suck as much, and that the v.3 YF-19 goes back to ratchets, as a previous poster mentioned.
  16. Hey, does anyone know if the paint scheme that is currently being shown in pictures and in the samples provided will be the final production version colors? I'd have at least liked to see the UN Spacy logo tampo printed and what not on the toy for the price being asked. Sorry if I'm being tooo picky about this, but I hate having to sticker up a new valk
  17. Ahh! That sounds dangerous, even for a static gerwalk pose. Ankles without the screws in them? I mean, they had to have put them in there for a reason right? They wouldn't just throw in some random screws for fun's sake.....or would they?
  18. Thanks! Me too!!
  19. NOOOO!!! Come on man, don't post teh negative views on the YF-19 v.3!!! If we can convolute this thread with hundreds of only positive responses, then we're bound to make the idea look better. That's it, I'm calling it. You don't want the YF-19, don't post!!! jk man, your opinion is your opinion, and I respect that. Post away!! And yeah, that HLJ price is rediculous. No one would pay that much for one with a v.3 hinted at, and ease of buying a VF-19 with a few more bucks thrown into the pot.
  20. Oh, lulz, I meant all [V]F-19 models that Yamato puts out. I will DEFINETELY be buying a v.3 [Y]F-19 toy if it's made, as a) That fighter is very close to my heart, in that it was the first EVER macross jet that I ever saw, watching Macross Plus for the first time b) It's a figther that is much more modern and realistic (as realistic as a transforming fighter will get ) than the crazy schemes of Macross 7 c) The way the feet are shaped on the YF-19, as well as the rediculous amount of mold changes that will have to be made for a YF-19 will allow for implementation of ratchet joints in the ankles rather than ball joins (which would be hard to do on the YF-19 due to the way it's feet are shaped imo) d) even if they screw everything up, I'll still buy it because it is the YF-19, no complaints from me. The design had to justify purchases of the Vf-19 variants, but with a YF-19, none of that matters
  21. Sorry for plunging this into such an off topic discussion guys, so we should get back on topic before someone gets mad (ok, just a little bit more ot stuff, what episode is it where Docker is actually transferred to emerald force, and which episode do they face off (gamlin and docker) at macross 5)
  22. ^Yeah, the fully extended ankles are a little awk to say the least I didn't really mind that though
  23. I reflect Mommar's opinion on this, as he said. True, some people got better copies than others, but on my Kai, the ankles were so fail right out of the box that the first picture that Reivaj posted was IMPOSSIBLE to achieve. It would just nosedive after a couple seconds. It was actually worse once I actually got the arms out to a regular gerwalk position. The ONLY gerwalk pose I could pull of without a nose dive was one where the nose stood parrallel to the ground, and the legs were placed straight together, and not in an awesome A - stance. Like, it may not make sense to those who got copies with better ankles, but it COULDN'T stand whatsoever in those nice extreme positions. Now, I know some may say that just avoid all extremeties, but macross' gerwalk is an extreme position type thing for me, and is usually how I pose my valks. It really is what made macross MACROSS for me, even beyond the singing to fight dealio. It was like I opened the box, fighter mode brought [metophorical] tears to my eyes at the bueaty of it, and then I transformed to gerwalk for the first time. I at first though i just made some mistake with the ankles or something why it wouldn't stand, but after trying out 5 different surface types, and a whole slew of positions, I could not get those ankles to stay put whatsoever. This was even reflected in my battroid posing at times. I don't want to be a wet blanket, but I just want to let people know the issue is out there. I am hoping the YF-19 v.3 gets this right (ratchets, like the current issue). Also, I would refer all further questions about my own Kai's loose ankles to KiriK, as he has mine right now (I sold it, couldn't stand the thing).
