Are all your emoticon pics related to My Little Poniez?! First the avatar, and now this!

Yeah, why did Banagher board the Garencieres again? Wouldn't they [shouldn't they?] be pissed that he essentially killed their helmsman (forgot his name) on his way down to earth, and nearly beat their commanding officer in combat (although beating neo char is a moot point compared to killing their helm buddy)

Yeah, she does have family I believe, though they live in another region/country. I think she mentions calling them at one point or another IIRC Also, I had the pull the preorder on this. Another item that I am VERY excited about, the 3AToys MG Rex, is set to release sometime in April, and preorders open up in January. Unfortunately, I can't sponser THAT much money for toys, so I chose to go with the more expensive REX. I hope these things are still available a few months down the line, and don't sell out like the RX7.

Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Archer replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Oh, my bad then. I could have sworn that he only mistransformed the back side of the battroid, I thought the chest portion was transformed accurately. -
Is that final season your referring to anime? Also, yeah, I really like the robot damashii versions, but they all look like toys to me, not as refined as the Alter version, which is more akin to "military" type models in my opinion. All the little details and markings, alongside the rediculous number of weapons it comes with makes this a winner in my book. I dunno, its really expensive though! @ SuperHobo: At some of the previous hobby shows where they previewed the m9, they also showed off some of those enemy frog like AS. I forgot what they are called though

I think big bad toy store is the only website that lists it for $200, but shipping is cheaper with them.

Yeah, HLJ is cheaper than amiami after shipping was figured in. My own quote was $292.31 (I live in the midwest)

Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Archer replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
So Renato, how did you feel about the whole cockpit transformation? Was the whole chest locking procedure solid, as it kinda seemed like the cockpit kept falling out of the chest at times? And yeah, that video was great! -
Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Archer replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I corrected myself in the post above, and this thing will be a must buy! Also, that cockpit mechanism looks really interesting. It appears as though the cockpit will be accessible in the battroid mode as well, as all one needs to do is lift up the upper chest plate and then open up the canopy. Interestingly enough, this is how the lineart portrays the battroid cockpit mechanism as well. I don't know if that was an intended feature, but it works fine by me -
Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Archer replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
The thing is huge! And seems pretty solid as well. This just went from a meh to a must buy! And the pictures made it seem really chunky, but the video presents it in a much nicer angle as well. -
Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Archer replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
If the nose of the VF-17 was as pointed and thin as in those pictures, I'd get this in a heartbeat. Maybe I've been spoiled by the VF-171 -
I think there was something hinted at, but as of now, there has been nothing confirmed in terms of new material. The second raid honestly was a dissapointment, as I thought it'd be a full second season that goes on into Sagara's days with the ARX - 8.

For those that got to see it, would you say that the VF-17 felt better or worse than the acclaimed VF-19? For nearly 4000 yen more, I hope its better O_O

^Because Gundam follows this weird and deranged principle that once a mobile suit is deemed too weak to put up a fight, then it becomes relegated to the role of distraction and cannon fodder as the main Gundam continues to grow more and more powerful. Genoace Pilot: *Hey, can I have a dots rifle for my unit? " Commander: *NO! That means you might put up a fight against the enemy, and we can't have that!" Genoace Pilot: *Wha....Wha...Why NOT?!" Commander: *Because then the Gundam might not have to fight alone, disparaging alone against numerous enemies* Genoace Pilot: *FFFFUUUUU*

Has anyone taken pics of the gamlin sculpt or cockpit mechanism? Also, can anyone specify how "low" the chest piece swings, as in promo pics, it was nearly parrallel to the floor, but in these in hand pics, the chest piece is swung down much lower, to the point where the chest guns are pointing towards the floor.

I think there is a misconception being applied here that "Because its thinner and generally less chunky, the overall toy must be frail compared to the chunk'full goodness that was the V.1" But the truth is that most of the V.1's frailty was sourced to cruddy plastic (V.2 improves) and redonkulously horrid joints (V.2 also improves). Amalgate that into an overall better design and forsight into armor packs and you have a MUCH more solid item. just a thought
-
^I know what you mean, but I really think that the sculpt on these things is levels ahead of the robot damashii ones. Furthermore, I think alter is coming out with enemy mecha in the future (at least, going along with what they previewed at past hobby shows). Also, I really like all the gimmicky stuff that this one comes with, but agree with you, 12800 yen is a LOT for a 6 inch action figure.

So, I didn't see any threads regarding these figures, but I know that there used to be one in the past, so I thought I'd reinstate a new one in response to this: http://www.hlj.com/product/ALT20805 Alter's new 1/60 M9 Gernsback. Alter made a previous 1/60 Arbalest, and this time, their taking a shot at the M9. I missed my chance at picking up the arbalest (and its sold out pretty much everywhere now), so getting this is a no brainer for me. Looks REALLY cool, but then again, its about an inch shorter than a 1/60 VF-1 and nearly 2800 yen more expensive, so your mileage may vary. I think its a great piece of work though. What do you guys think?

Has anyone tried the osprey support for the support chain? How many care packages does it drop, and are those care packages restricted to support killstreaks or can they contain assault killstreaks as well. If they can drop in assault killstreaks, I might go with that instead of jug armor.
-
^I agree with you that the recon juggernaut isn't great in terms of offense, but it really does wonders in terms of capturing positions (as you said). furthermore, I think that if you're good enough, you can really make that pistol swing for you (well, I guess I have a slight advantage. I used to exclusively snipe in modern warfare 1 and 2, so I got pretty good at using the pistol). And hey, if you run out of ammo, just charge them and shield bash Always effective in completely scaring the enemies away Honestly though, I think it's a pretty good trade - off compared to the 15 killstreak one has to get to get an assault juggernaut suit with assault rifle. Now that is pretty hard to do each game. I haven't tried the recon drone. How does one get points with it? I don't remember it having weaponry equipped
-
If my memory serves me correctly, the original V.1 releases (the alto and ozma) did not have any plug-ins for the armored parts right? (At least, I think I'm right, although I can't remember for sure). Well, regardless, it really came off to me that the V.1 were never designed initially remembrance of the structural rigidity needed to equip armor or super packs, which really lead to the downfall of the V.1's in my opinion. Sure, someone can take a LOT of time to transform, take precautionary measures, etc. but even then, seems like nothing is working. And beyond that, would you really ENJOY spending that much time and that much care just to keep your product kicking? I don't even treat my Yamato's with that much care, and they keep up fine. I don't know about you, but I certainly wouldn't like it

lol @ yhatzee, that guy is hilarious! Even though his comedy may be a bit on the innappropriate side, it still gives me a good laugh. And yeah, I'm in Eugimon's boat. I have Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3, and Skyrim, and have no clue which one to play I don't have too much free time on my hands, and I'm soo eager to get through all three of them. In terms for those who enjoy modern warfare 3 though, if you really want to feel like a boss each round without having to have a constant sweat to see if you can rack up 10+ killstreaks, I suggest you use the support killstreak function and pick juggernaut at 18. 18 guys to bring down a round overall isn't too bad, and I can usually pull it off every round without a sweat. For those 18, you get dropped a crate with probably one of the best support equipment in the game. Once you're a juggernaut, honestly, almost nothing can get to you. You're indeed invincible at that point. I remember that in domination, our team was in the loss and we needed to capture B flag to bring ourselves back into the fight. I dropped the juggernaut armor, and pretty much walked into B flag, which was a warzone at that point. Guys all around me, but with a riot shield and pistol, it actually wasn't much of a sweat. It's amazing how much beating the jug suit can take. Just a little tip I guess

AKIRA LIVE ACTION MOVIE = Life Support?
Archer replied to Macross007's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I honestly don't care if people make Live Action versions, re-makes, etc. of something I love. More to the point, I actually appreciate the fact that they are trying to add something to a universe that I have come to love. And with that effect, I don't act like some elitist, and instead, I usually go watch/read/etc. the new version. If I like it, then good for me as my appreciation of said universe has expanded. I don't like it, and opt for the original? Well then, I guess i'm fresh out of 9 bucks for the movie ticket, but nothing beyond that. I just decide to go back and watch the original. I'm not gonna give the remake false superiority juts because its a newer, more mainstream version, but at the same time, I won't flame it and deny its very existance. I'm not going to bash on people who like it, or act superior to them because I appreciate the original more. I actually welcome new fans to the franchise, regardless of where that entry point may be. I see this new Akira movie as that very entrace for a whole slew of new fans, especially younger ones that may not be interested in anime or have seen akira before. The same goes for when I saw the live action transformers movies. I don't want to criticize anyone or flame anyone, but I honestly think that the online community needs to begin to appreciate the work that goes into things like these, and not guard some elitist standpoint that anything new will defile the original, or bash anything new while complaining about the dying fanbase. Just my $0.02
