just paid for mine as well. I haven't seen a stand mentioned. guess we'll find out soon, eh?
  3. I see where you're at WM... I think the general look issue could be much improved by lengthening the neck behind the canards by a mm or 2... that seems the biggest proportion issue to my eye. I have 5 on pre-order so I have a spare to try it... but I'm reticent to cut up even a 'close' VF-4... anyone have any suggestions to go about a neck job? I should also have a resin one around here somewhere... *scrooge Mcduck dive into kitstash*... not sure where it's at... I'll definitely be comparing the two once the Waves arrive. if Hase ever kit the VF-4, I'll call these A models, and Hase's inevitably sleeker interpretation Gs or something.
  4. I support your "enhanced" Macross-combat reeducation programme!
  5. My inner Trekkie is desperate for a better explanation than 2x MagLites... but you're probably correct given the other evidence in the show on a similar note: I've always wondered what the underbite on the FB2012 helmet is for? locking it into a wall rack for storage?
  6. yea... so from the front Gamlin's is pretty bad... maybe those are self-contained life-support systems in the helmet? I stand by my [admittedly assailable] assertion about the FB-2012 helmet though... It reminds me of a Polo Helmet: *almost DYR:L? colours too!* ...and I don't like it. Personal tastes...

Winup Scale Models on Shapeways offers one in multiple scales: 1/8000, 1/10,000, and 1/20,000... I'm sorely tempted to get one...
  8. Oh good... the first thought that flashed through my mind was this
  9. as much as I would love an accurate FB2012 pilot... that's THE UGLIEST helmet in all of Macross. No huge loss to me as long as they include a pilot in some sort of UN SPACY gear*... *Normally this is where I would lay-in to Hasegawa, but their 1/72 not-SDFM/M0 recent releases have all included pilots, so they get a pass as long as they keep it up.
  10. Is that supposed to be the concept version of NCC-1701C?
  11. waiting on the VF-0C re-release...
  12. I'm hoping Arcadia Release it as a kit... that'll at least take the edge off enough that I can justify getting one.

    Hasegawa VF-31

Oh Hasegawa, don't ever change: That's an interesting next thing to have coming out in 1/72...
  14. I think you nailed the Aircraft Ident F-ZeroOne. As far as I'm aware, no British-designed bombers got a full-blown belly turret, Lancs and other Avro designs had their Radar and/or Jamming equipment in that ventral dome. Some Brit bombers had "Ventral Turrets"... but nothing as effective [or pant-soiling] as the Sperry Ball-Turrets on the '17s and '24s
  15. ... them some TINY hinges that I never knew existed... Thanks arbit! I'm sure we'll be able to find a plethora of uses for these
  16. DAAAAAMN Anubis! that's the Bandai kit?! BRAVO!!
  17. I find using coarse sanding pads/sticks/sandpaper works best, as you get curls/scours of resin instead of dust. but dust sized particles are unavoidable, so still wear a mask as Arbit suggests... I should wear mine more often...
  18. they built six replicas as I recall, and they fly on F-5 engines
  19. Indeed, the only other ordinance Hase has released re: Macross are the included missiles in the VF-25 kits, and certain kits with different gunpods
  20. Looking at the opening of the show, I don't think the SSM offering is accurate to the Prometheus [but I admit, I don't recall the JBD design from the show proper] Nor is it accurate to the DYR:L? Game intro [@ 0:55 looks like the JBD is right off a Nitmitz]... but THAT version of Prometheus gets cut in half by the orbiting Zentradi, so YMMV... I wouldn't get the SSM one for "accuracy", but I like it none-the-less.
  21. I think Grunt's referring to this one.
  22. Sweet! More in-service VF-1D!! She's a beaut NZEOD. Great little carrier scene... gotta love the "Hurry up and wait" Someone bring the flight-crew a colouring-book! Not often you see electric green on an active duty bird... no 'Liberace' gold canopy? [anyone know how one could replicate that effect? iridescent paint? or modifying/mixing a Tamiya clear?]

    Hasegawa VF-31

Hasegawa needs to get off their butts and get a VF-19F/S out, then a Battroid of the 19 [any one of them, I don't particularly care which], THEN they can Battroid the VF-31
