  1. man i need that legioss...the looks are non traditional, but i like how the figher's nose isn't just flipped backwards onto its back. they thought about the cockpit, where that goes and how to shorten the nose turned into "tail". the joint system on the thing will give it a great diver mode too. hopefully its all solid and not fidgety or fragile. although i prefer the ET's proportions overall (less squat), i think if they pull this off, it will be the first modern legioss toy that feels as if its made when it is and is good in comparison to its peers. toynamis and CMs both lagged behind their peers...for instance the valkyries of the late aughts were much better toys than those legioss/alphas, and lets not menton how much better a 2008 circa valkyrie is compared to a 2017/8 ET legioss. that said i'll keep my ET trio (RGB, didn't bite on the dark one) and add one of these new ones...i'd like to get all of them but real life etc. haha.
  2. god i'd love to have that jetfire! too bad there is not box....i wonder where in my parent's basement my g1 jetfire box is. lol...hmmm...
  3. I just think the rear is too thick...its a worse offender than mp-10 there , so much so that mp-10s trailer won't work heightwise with ms-01. Out of the 3 choices, it's the only one I can point to that has a "worse " alt mode overall than mp-10. Of course that's just my opinion and some people don't give a crap about the alt mode anyway.
  4. the individual bots and alt modes mostly look great, but are pricey! at between carbot and seeker height they are right sized for my head canon too (if not the scale chart) if the combined mode was more to my liking i'd have one of these already too.
  5. true....BUT MS has a bad alt mode rear half, and TE-01 doesn't have mp-44's articulation. that said, TE-01 is my OP. skipping mp-44 for now. skipping an mp op form takara was unthinkable to me just a year or two ago. now, I'm thinking of even picking up anohter TE-01 as backup and maybe painting the grey waist hinges white....of the other way around...get rid of the white and go silver/grey. that said the painting part probably won't happen but the backup copy might (mine's a V1 and the V2 has more ratchet teeth apparently).
  6. i'm betting these are straight up reverse engineered from final product. just takes some equipment and a few engineers (remember labor in overseas areas where production happends.. including skilled professionals is cheaper there than say the USA or Japan) to do the 3D model up. and send those models and prints out for quote to the right molding houses, get it tooled up....and maybe do the assembly in house once the components are in. totally doable, its just the business case to go ahead with tooling up the molds has to be solid...which they can guarantee via preorders etc....i would think. the SSP are different enough that i doubt its old discarded molds being used (unless they are fairly early revsions etc)...although its certainly one of a few different possibilities.
  7. so that display piece looks great. do we ASSume the production version will look like? if we don't preorder we will pay the full MSRP or higher, but what if we preorder again and its again the wrong color again? haha. i mean i like the color the original release was but somehow can't help but feel cheated once as over time i've come to like the paler/greyer blue better...and this PF version of that blue looks great!
  8. i half wonder if the crowdfund thing is a marketing gimmick and its already been approved for production. i mean takara is picking it up to do their own release...which if the crowdfund were 100% true couldn't happen if they don't reach the goal. i assume hasbro/ have some retailers will end up being "makeup backers" and maybe whatever factory order takara wants to release would push them over the number? they've already spent so much effort marketing the thing it will be super embarrassing if it doesn't get made. that being said, if i were still a single dude with no family/responsibilities but to myself i'd jump on this as a backer but....thats not the case so i can't commit to this. perhaps they've already missed the window on having enough potential customers of people grew up with G1 that have lots of expendable money and little to no responsibilities. i mean we are in our 40s! haha. that would be a shame though.
  9. damn i bought one of those valk factory SSP for 70 bucks or so...46? thats almost as cheap as the yamato days. i think the record low i saw back then was ~$30? i should have picked up way more back then. i might get a set or 3 of these at 46....thats a good price becasue i'm pretty sure shipping price is built in with showz. also if i didn't already have both a yamato and arcadia set of M and M i'd jump on that as well. I think the yamato set i got was around $150-160ish converted to USD each back in the day . i hope they do both the more obscure canon schemes that were done by yamarcadia (like angel birds which i neglected to pick up all these years) and schemes yamato never did on the V2 1/60 (alaska base, minmay guard, realistic style schemes, low visibility types, etc). that would flesh out the yamarcadia 1/60 v2 squadron nicely...cuz i'm never going to able to replicate that quantity and variety at 1/48 dx chogokin scale (or old yammy 1/48) as i did at 1/60. i doubt it will happen but i can dream....or maybe comission a custom or 3 but customs are never quite as good to handle and just end up being display only pieces usually...unless they have very little paint etc. *EDIT damn they are sold out of SSP!! didn't notice that!
  10. saw this over the weekend but was trying not to get sucked in...but i think that may be impossible now. i really hope we get a new series or OVA. thats my biggest hope. these desings from sentintel....they are definitely NOT based ENTIRELY on the original art ...wonder if the "mospeada genesis breakers" art is the source of most of the differences. either way....as much as i like the original designs, some changes to the legioss the are making seem like great ideas though they are not without comprimises it seems. i don't think i'll be replacing my evolution toys trio of legioss but i think i gotta get my hands on the stick variant of the sentinel legioss (and maybe hopefully a matching tlead). also they are still in the unpainted prototype stage....wasn't the original release date like....in a month or two? haha never trust any release dates estimated from sentintel i guess. The fuke proto....need to see the other mode! looks pretty good so far though.
  11. Thanks again folks!
  12. thanks guys, my usual go to places for TWE were NY and AE. NY still has them AE does not. Seems CDJ has stopped selling TWE items. What places am I missing (for future reference)?
  13. Been out of the loop, are there apparently going to be two releases of the super/sttike pack? NY has 2 different dates for early and late pre-orders. December 2019 and April 2020. I take it they are the only place around still taking pre-orders?
  14. i'm aware siege and phoenix are different scales and lines but IMO, phoenix was too tall. he also lacks a waist swivel (i hate when large TF figures dont' have this and its one of my biggest gripes about any large TF). siege solves my two biggest complaints with phoenix. it looks like siege jetfire's height at jsut over 11 inches will work well enough (basically mp magnus height and yes mp magnus is way too tall) with MP figures(yes i know he is technically too short but i'd rather him be too short by a little bit than too tall ) although he has "too many details/greebles" to fit with most MP figures...but i think it'll work for me. realistically he might get his own shelft space so i'm not super concerned about the height.
  15. i'm glad in my personal head canon i don't need the dark legioss. lol. seems like the quality control has actually gotten worse since the other ones. glad your second copy was better.
  16. well i didn't think it'd happen before i left the hobby but arcadia is pricing me out. i can't justify it...the wing design just looks like its begging to get loose over time but we won't know until it releases if they've improved there. it does look pretty, and better than the yamato in both sculpt and deco. i can't justify this anymore than i could mp-44 in the mp trasformer's arena (and to be fair i can justify that one way more) and the SV-51 is awesome but not close to my favorite valk design. its just too much money for an unknown quantity. if it doesn't selll well and goes on discount...heavy discount....maybe.
  17. reboxed toynami 1/100 ...such a mediocre toy getting such a nice throback box
  18. deal of the year! dang. i always wanted yamato and later arcadia to reproduce these in 1/60...but now that i have a DX anda coupel other 1/48s i kept from back in the day maybe i need to hunt one of these down! beautiful!
  19. Totally get you man and you're right with respect to how the "demand" has worked with TF MP toys and now its starting to happen to yamato/arcadia's VF-1 toys which seem to have a significant drop in the secondary market except for the rare ones with KOs not arcadia reissues haven't touched (btw at least aradia does reissues though some would argue too many! which bandai did it more so this whole "rarity" scalper/ko issue coudl be lesseend). btw, certain $10 walmart toys if popular and underproduced do get scalped...it happens sometimes to things like even star wars black series figures (well $20 toys but you get the tpoint) that aren't well distributed at first...and even mainline TF toys. happens all the time. *sigh* KOs aren't new though. there were plenty of KO chunky monkeys around when i was a kid. i only had jetfire and it was cool enough for me. i half wish valkyrie factory would do a yamarcadia in jetfire deco. lol. i do agree that both the greed on scalpers/ko part and the bad production planning on toy companies' parts are dulling my enthusiasm a bit....also i'm nearing "completing" my collections anyway so there is that. at least arcadia has a long preorder window as does sentinel. bandai...i wish they'd do that too. maybe they like this undeserved fervor over rareness of mass producted toys.
  20. oof 28000 yen is a lot...not that the evo toys were a good buy for their price (not at all "worth" it but was wroth it to me) either and i'd be on this for sure if i hadn't just bought the evo toys versions in the past year or so. hmmm....may sit it out afterall. was hoping this would be under 20k yen each. i caved a year ago, should i cave again? and yes i have to see wafter they are released what is superior but i do like the sculpt of the evo toys soldier mode better than what we've seen shown previously for the sentinel's soldier mode...
  21. except for the wings down, i like the fighter mode. hopefully they can be put straight out. its looks tight. looks like i can finally sell my toynami mpc alphas and betas? i know the scott/blue alpha goes for a lot these days but i coudln't let it go without a replacement coming in. i just recently opened my evolution toys guys (and the soldier mode is far superior to these IMO) and enjoying them currently except the dumb hands. they are great for shelf presence in soldier mode...being bigger than yamato v2 vf-1s. these could be great for combined mode (the toynamis are passble there but not great and evo toys probably won't make a huge tlead that i would have zero room for anyway) display.
  22. i was happy to sit this one out. I don't need to rebuild vermillion squadron at 1/48th scale even though i freely admit yamarcadia 2.0 has been bested by a good margin. space, budget, and my own mental sanity ruled the day last night for me haha. sad to hear it was another tough one for the MWers who tried. the hik 1J was a must though and i'm glad someone on here helped me out in getting one. a roy fokker 1S (of course) will be a must when it comes out so I can only hope bandai will be smarter at this by then. part of me thinks bandai loves these scalpers though. *sigh* i REALLY hope super parts (for TV style) and super/strike parts (for dyrl style) will not be an issue. It seems the missile set wasn't hard to get so hopefully those packs won't be either. i don't **need** a gbp-1S in 1/48 but i'd be happy if they made up and definitely would get it.
  23. hmm, not sure about that. they do delay a bit, but its been delayed at least once before so maybe the next delayed date will be accurate. lol. Sentinel themselves are almost always late with their stuff. I doubt the June and July dates they gave a few months ago will be met as we should already be preordering them if that was the case. i'd be happy to be wrong though
