  1. I've never bought an EA game before, and after reading that article, I never will.
  2. Against my better judgement, I just pre-ordered figma Fate/Zero Emiya Kiritsugu. Haven't even watched the anime, and it's obvious he's not the main character, but that sweet Walther WA-2000 sniper rifle sealed the deal for me. Just couldn't put the money down for Saber--that damn sword just looks too much like a child's toy.
  3. At least I can afford to buy this. The ThreeA version was too big and too expensive. Shouldn't be too much work building it, though I'm not sure I'm skilled enough to go the whole nine yards with the detailing and weathering. But even a clean build with minimal paint should look good on this.
  4. Finished season one of Ikki Tousen, and moving on to IT Dragon Destiny. Why are all female incarnations of Wu and Shu leaders so...toroi? That said, at least Ryubi is more grounded and believable than Hakufu. Also finished Blood C. Much ado about nothing--that's all I can say about those twelve episodes. It's more of an elaborate and long teaser for the movie than anything else. Still, it was good in that nearly everything was resolved neatly. Can't wait for the movie. Watched GitS 2 - Innocence for the nth time. Still found it weird watching Batou spouting philosophy and all. Strangely, the vintage cars actually fit in with the setting of the movie. Not bad, but not quite as good as the first movie.
  5. Costumes and non-essential fancy weapons as DLC's, I can live with, but the way Capcom makes you PAY to unlock the characters that are already in the game is daylight robbery. I remember reading something about Capcom's chairman (or or some other Japanese game company) laughing at a rival company that provided a complete game when they could have gotten away with slicing chunks of extras off and selling them as DLC's. Douchebag.
  6. I'm all for Crying Wolf and Raging Raven (or was it Yelling Raven? I forget) at the very least. I'd love to see a Laughing Octopus fig, but like you said, it would seem very hard to successfully pull off as a poseable toy. Not too big of a fan of Screaming Mantis, though. I can't wait for them to release Cyborg Raiden and Vamp. IMO those two nearly overshadowed Old Snake with their awesome fight scenes.
  7. Sadly, my old PS2 can no longer handle the incessant disc-reading those Crystal Dynamics TR games require during gameplay. I can still use my relatively newer PS2 Slim version to play them, but I generally try not to tax it too much. As for the prequel, yeah, I agree. There wasn't really a proper resolution for the main antagonists. Still, the prequel doesn't look too shabby. It's nice to see a more realistic side of Lara, to be honest.
  8. As much as I like the figs from the first MGS game, I just can't relate to them since I've never played it. Solidus is awesome--gonna have to make some space in my shelf for him. Waiting for them to be done with the MGS2 - SOL and Snake Eater characters and move on to MGS4. Cyborg Raiden, Old Snake, FROG troops and the B&B corps...now those, I'd pay good money for.
  9. I'm patient enough to wait for the DVD/BD release. Good movies deserve a few rewatches every now and then. Besides, certain cinema goers seem to be oblivious to the common courtesy of "TURNING OFF YOUR FCUKING PHONE AND WATCHING THE DAMN MOVIE!" Makes one wonder why they bother paying for the ticket if they're just going to sit here and yack instead of enjoying what's on the screen.
  10. I watch The Walking Dead on my local cable TV's HBO channel. Guess it wouldn't affect us over here.
  11. Great way to end the season.
  12. If only Black Lotus transformed into something, she'd make the perfect Cybertronian Airachnid.
  13. Alice's and Ada's costumes are the only ones that look decent. Jill's battle suit looks cheap, and the control device looks even worse. Li Bingbing's English is surprisingly fluent, although it could be a dub. From appearances alone, it looks more promising than the last two ones put together.
  14. Apparently, Sideswipe is going to be rather smallish. There's this pic I saw of him in alt mode inside MP-10's trailer. It's a snug fit, but he'll only be about 10mm wider than his Classics mold. As for Soundwave, he'd better be about the size of the Fans Toys KO version if he's going to cost that much. Laserbeak looks a little chubby, to be honest. I'd rather they kept the Megatron gun and chrome part thingie, and gave us an extra cassette bot.
  15. I wanted to get the first version of Drossel back then myself, but a lack of spare funds as usual made me pass on it. Charming Drossel's got her own...er, charm, though. Really reminds me of those androids in Will Smith's I-Robot.
  16. Drossel's ridiculously fun to display, given the character's penchant for dramatic poses.
  17. Yeah, after all is said and done, I'm buying him too. The only TF I ever owned as a kid was G1 Mirage. Optimus, Megatron, Starscream and Soundwave will always be on my "buy first, think later" list.
  18. Anyone else picked up Fireball Charming Drossel? The design piqued my interest, and after watching the CG short clips, I just had to buy one. Pre-ordered the bike, too. Now if only they came up with a Gedachtnis fig. That said, I know they probably won't. He'll be WAY too big for MF to even attempt, considering the average size of the figmas.
  19. 47 USD? So Laserbeak is worth the price of a Max Factory figma toy (the ones with less accessories, at least--that's the price my local store sell them at, at least)? Somehow, I doubt Laserbeak is quite as large or has as many accessories as the average figma. This better be one hell of a plastic robo-bird. Then again, it might not have so much to do with Laserbeak as much as the Japanese yen's recent currency spike. The recent stuff my local hobby store brought in had their prices revised due to the yen's sudden value increase.
  20. Me neither--it's either a multi-pack of cassette bots or nothing. MP prices are too steep for multiple purchases just to get the cassettes. While I doubt United RnF can fit inside MP Soundwave's chest, they might make decent stand-ins.
  21. Just watched the latest ep. FINALLY back on track, and Pumyra's finally quit her "I hate you, Lion-O...aw, my hero" thing. Got some nice revelations going on with the back story, too. Great characterization with Voltaire. Would have been boring if he turned out to be another psycho or sadistic brute. Can;t wait for the second part.
  22. What?! Only Laserbeak?! Cheap-ass pieces of.... Wouldn't kill them to add Ravage or Rumble. What worries me is that they might do the same thing eugimon said; repaint Soundwave in various colors (IPod Shattered Glass, Soundblast, etc.) and bait us by including the other cassette bots with these damn repaints.
  23. While the 3A human designs aren't exactly my cup of tea, the bots look sweet. Very old-school and utilitarian--in other words, very Soviet. At the same time, there's also enough of a modern feel to them that they don't look too dated.
  24. If I had some spare fig funds to throw around, I'd go for the Black Lotus and Silver Crow. Thing is, I've got a crapload of pre-orders on my plate (HT Tumbler and Bat-pod taking up the majority of my funds), and I've never played Excel World. Sweet designs, though.
  25. LOL! After the sixth episode, I got pretty used to the show's exploding clothes and occasional panty pulldowns. I've watched over a third of the first season, and I'm looking forward to a less toroi Hakufu. Strange that they would pair Ryofu (Lu Bu) with Chinkyo (Chen Gong) instead of Chousen, who doesn't even seem to exist in the anime. Then again, since it's a girl-girl thing here, so I guess getting Lu Bu paired with Chen Gong seems strangely fitting. Just saw Kanu make her debut. Pretty accurate portrayal of Guan Yu, and far less slurmty (WTF?! The word processor even censors the word S.L.U.T.? ) than all the borderline ero figs of her led me to believe. I despair of myself. I was once proud of the fact that I'd only watch the most hardcore, dark, serious anime in the industry. GitS, Akira, Armitage.... Recently, I got to choose between watching a new ep of Ikki Tousen or starting on Gasaraki. Never made it past ep. 1 on the latter. Just kept devouring ep after ep of Ikki Tousen.
