  1. Well, there's still the Arkham Asylum Batman they haven't made yet. As for the Adam West version, definite pass. It was way before my time, and when it was shown on TV, I hated it as a kid. Micheal Keaton was the Batman of my generation (80's-90's.)
  2. LOL! Yeah, maybe I am getting old. That said, I actually loved the Bayformers' design, and actually prefer it to the old-school G1 look. By "second Batmobile," did you mean the Tumbler? Because in between, there Val Kimer's "radioactive Swiss-roll mobile," and George Clooney's "a bit of everything mobile." I actually like the Tumbler, and as far as I'm concerned, it looks great--in fact, I liked it enough to buy a 1/6th scale replica of it from Hot Toys. The thing about the new ED is that looks too showy and ornate for a piece of law enforcement hardware, let alone military. All those metal shards and stuff would never be found on a tank or jet, or anything the army uses. Now I'm no military expert, but that thing looks like it breaks real easily, and seems like a bitch to maintain and manufacture. Yes, the old ED isn't all that realistic either, but while you're watching the movie, it didn't make you think, "No way that thing would ever belong in the military or law enforcement agency." At least I didn't. In any case, according to wm cheng, they've already changed the designs. So it'll either look less Bay-ish, or more so. Either way, we'll have to wait and see how the new ED looks.
  3. LOL! Yeah, it might actually come to that!
  4. Love the cammo version Tumbler. I've seen some behind-the-scenes pics of a different version with armor-plating on the windscreens; are they making that one too? I'm curious about the Bat-wing, or whatever they're callng it now. No problem for those who bought it online, but how's anyone going to lug that thing back home from, say, a hobby store? It's huge enough without the styrofoam packaging; all boxed up, it might not fit into the passenger compartment of your average car. A pickup truck or SUV would be big enough, though.
  5. Yup. In any case, I was just repeating what Bay said in his commentaries. That was his intention; whether it worked out well or not is another story.
  6. I agree. As unrealistic as "walker-type" tanks might be, the original ED-209 design at least allows the audience to suspend his disbelief to a degree. On another matter, these designers simply fail to understand why Bay called for these super-complex "junkyard sculpture" designs for the transformers in the first place. Supposedly, he and his design team were shooting for a realistic look, in that the transformers are supposed to be ALIEN robotic lifeforms, as opposed to manmade. In order to get a more organic look, he wanted them to have a huge amount of moving parts to simulate the numerous bones, muscle fibers and tendons that make up a human body and allows us to move with such mobility. The ED-209, on the other hand, IS manmade, and to "Bay-ify" it only destroys the believability of it.
  7. Can't say I'm surprised. If board games and them park rides have been made into movies (both examples of which turned out pretty decent, as in Pirates of the Caribbean and Battleship), what's to stop them from leeching off of the popularity of a successful video game franchise?
  8. Compressed air? That could work. Damn, wish I had better carpentry skills. I've got no problem assembling IKEA furniture, but modifying them is a different story. Man, using a display case for a coffee table would be the ultimate piece of man-cave furniture! I wonder if it was popularized by that Cho Woong guy from Korea. He's supposedly a SW nut who had a coffee table doubling as a display case with a scaled-down millenium Falcon in it.
  9. So...what did I win? A complete bluray set of that comedy series with the balding geezer and the chicks? I'd buy that for a dollar!
  10. That black guy in Bodicker's gang. Prince, wasn't it?
  11. Sweet! Horrible timing, though. I've got way, way, way too much on my plate right now to risk another pre-order. BTW, how do you guys keep the rubber skin on your HT figs clean. I see some of you using DETOLF shelves which are far from airtight. I'm asking because it seems like a bad idea to try and wipe off any dust from the skin, especially with a damp cloth, as it might smudge the dust over it. I had to buy separate acrylic display cases for my DX04 Bruce Lee and Jill Valentine Battle Suit version, and I'll probably have to go to a photo-frame shop (they actually have shops specializing in picture frames here) and get them to custom build me a glass box to hold my Tumbler and batpod.
  12. Cool. I plan on getting that 3rd party signal light, too. Batman's gonna look pretty awesome with his cape flailing in the wind.
  13. I haven't seen the new movie yet, but judging from your description of the scene, it seems like the Macguire version was portrayed a lot more realistically.
  14. Don't want to jump to any conclusions, but from the few visuals I've seen of "RC-2000," he's probably going to look more like a Cylon than Robocop. ED 209 looks a little over-complicated in its design...too much going on. Overall, I still prefer the old designs.
  15. Man, looking at all these setups, my stuff feels really under-budgeted. Anyways, mine's an old Altec Lansing ADA 885 5.1 surround set I rigged up for TV, video games and movies. TV's a Sony 36" LCD, good enough for my medium-sized man cave. My laptop's speakers suck, so I've hooked it up to a Kenwood KA-1060 stereo amplifier.
  16. I wasn't crazy about the anime when it first aired. The trailer looks promising, but I was expecting a prettier Kenshin. NOT that I'm complaining. He looked like a freaking girl in the anime, and was even voiced by one. Looks like they're following the anime and manga to a tee as far as the storyline is concerned--lots of immediately recognizable scenes ansd characters.
  17. I've been thinking of watching that Lagrange after completing the 4 seasons of Ikki Tousen, but I wasn't sure if I'd like it. I guess I'll give it a try then.
  18. Wow, you ARE a Batman expert. Didn't notice so many tiny differences in the detailing. And yeah, my bad regarding the accessories thing. Totally forgot about the backpack from TDK. Actually, I did say that the connector comes with DX12: BTW, just out of curiosity, does the batpod come with a wire or something to make Batman's cape look like it's flapping in the wind?
  19. Time to open that checkbook again, Kicker. TDKR Batman DX12 has just been announced. Overall, I'm glad I missed out on all the previous versions, as this one looks to be the definitive Batman, with all his accessories from all three movies, plus a light-up stand and Christian Bale's head sculpt. Oh, and here's another reason for you to get that second Bat-pod; the re-release has a slot for a connector that comes with the DX12 Batman for attaching what looks like an EMP cannon (the toy has LED's that light up, although what it actually does remains to be seen in TDKR). The cannon and it's connector comes with DX12. Not sure if the first version can hold the EMP cannon or not, though.
  20. Yeah, IGN also says the gameplay had plenty of bugs and AI problems.
  21. Almost put some cash down for Spec Ops - The Line...until I learned the main story campaign lasts a measly 4-5 hours.
  22. Gutto-Kuru? Never heard of this company before. The agressive and yelling faces look decent, but the neutral face looks kind of meh. The quality of the joints looks iffy. The poor hip articulation is kind of a deal breaker. That said, I'm desperate enough for a GitS fig to consider actually buying this. Wish it was a figma, though.
  23. Nice build! How did you seal the seam line on the shoulders? The pegs on mine were so tight I had to use a wood mallet to hammer the two parts together.
  24. You might be right. I don't play sports games, but I did buy Need For Speed once.
  25. I've only built the Kotobukiya AC Aaliyah Krasnaya, but overall it's not half bad. The parts are ridiculously numerous and small, but it serves to make a very detailed and realistic figure. The only thing I disliked about the kit was that the shoulders were split right down the middle. If they had found a way to leave the shoulder cover as a single piece, it would be perfect. The joints are very tight; in fact, I think they're TOO tight. While the kit lacks leg mobility, it's due to the source material and not the kit itself.
