  1. This you may not like.... First and formost, try rubbing alcohol to see if it will get the glue off. However, the way that glue works is that it dissolves the plastic... What you may end up having to do is sand off the glue with slightly corse sand paper, and work your way up to polishing grades...
  2. One problem with emulation is the fact that it's so processor intensive. Right now, a 1 Ghz machine (mine) is just enough to run a SNES emulator with some graphical filters... I'd hate to find out what a PS2 emulator will need to properly run... FYI, emulators are legal, provided they do not use any proprietary code. The Roms however, are not legal (unless they were freeware to begin with). Personally, if you like a PS2 so much, just go and buy one. The only reason why I have a Snes and Genesis emulator is because 1) The Snes is no longer being produced 2) The cartriges are getting old 3) Stores are charging $100 for Chrono Trigger (and yes I know about the PS1 version) Technically, I'm not hurting Nintendo or Sega with these emulators as the sale and production of the SNES or Genesis has long stopped. However, if you get a PS2 emulator and the roms you are hurting Sony.
  3. Yah... The VF-1 shells might not do much against the armour. A beam rifle against a VF-1 is going to do lots... Plus the orignal Gundam had the core block system with the transforming fighter... That's still somewhat complicated...

    VF-1D

Not really... Customizing would usually mean that you are going away from the regognized works of macross. Painting your VF-1D in crimson, and adding a hot pink cape would be customizing. Technically, I slightly customized my VF-11B FAST Packs. I added the kite logo (the largest one) to the dorsal Fast Packs, and I put the UN SPACY lettering on the legs and the Leg Fast Packs. However, I didn't touch the paint scheme.
  5. Dunno... Stronger is not exactly the right word. I'm sure a Gundam can do some nasty damage to a VF-1 with its fists... The better way of saying this would be that the VF-1 has a higher power output, and if placed in the Gundam Universal Century Universe, it could handle some nasty beam weapons. I'm pretty sure this excess power is used to power the energy converting armor...
  6. The retractible gunpod handle is featured on the Strike 1S, the Super Max and Millia, and the VF-1D. Also, while the VT-1 and VE-1 don't come with a gunpod, you can only attach the retractible version to them.
  7. That sounds a heck of a lot like the hand held gunpod... The only onboard weapons that the 19 has is the head laser and the wing root lasers. But yah, I'm thinking either a secondary sensor cluster, or a pez dispenser to placate rogue zentradi...
  8. Dunno... He looks pretty good in the first comparison picture right after the words. There's one problem with getting Optimus right: The animation warps the head quite a few times, which can result in a distorted head. Best way to figure out if the head's right, is to look at the lineart for Optimus... In my opinion, the head looks AWESOME. Well... They didn't need to toss in the mouth behind the mouth plate, but it is a nice bit of extra detail.

    HLJ Sale Again!!

Whee! Finally I'm getting the Banpresto Strikes! I've been pretty annoyed that all the other banprestos were on sale, but not the Roy and Hikaru Strikes... Don't need any more Yamatos (unless the Roy VF-1S Strike goes on sale for 70% off), so I'm good until the 19 comes out.
  10. Anybody want to guess what I voted for... I hope its not that obvious...
  11. But, while the space shuttle is a flying brick (litterally and figuratvely), it is a heck of a lot more areodynamic than a VF-1 with FAST packs on it. Plus the wings of the Space shuttle may lighten the load on the 747 while the 747 is in the air.
  12. Everybody forgot the retractable handle so the gunpod could sit much more closely to the fighter. In addition to what everybody else has said, the hips may be tighter, to support the weight of the FAST packs when they're on the fighter.
  13. Is there any proof to the shortened stacks on the stateside version? All I've been hearing from various groups is that the USA version will not have the shortened stacks... I'd like some comfirmation on it... As to me, I love it! I've had mine on pre-order for about 2 months, and he's shipping via EMS. I want him before the year is out (hopefully).
  14. What about the control surfaces on the wings? At least you would be able to roll your aircraft. You'll be able to turn in that fashion. As to the lack of a vertical stabilizer, you don't really need it to fly the aircraft. What I mean by "need" is that you could still be able to change your direction in which the plane is flying. If Il-2 is accurate, you can sheer off your rudder, and still be able to fly the plane (just a side note, using your rudder to chop off your opponent's wings is an effective way of downing an aircraft should you be out of ammo or your guns are jammed) Now if you get into a spin, that's when you really really need your vertical stabilizer.
  15. Hey, the trailer for the third Harry Potter trailer leaked just shortly ago. http://www.empiremovies.com/movies/harry_p...ban/index.shtml Have fun!
  16. I don't use pay pal (yet) but this empasises rule number 1 about fraud. If an "authorized source" requests your pin and bank number (or credit card etc...), something they should already have on file, report the incident, immediately. I've known about these scams for quite a bit of time. They've been mentioned on a fairly regular basis on www.snopes.com, along with the rest of the urban legends. Still, good thing you didn't fall for it, and good thing you're letting us know.

    Whoo boy...

Sounds like a good price. Are you quoting the Canadian price, or the conversion to US? As to being dinged, you may not be dinged if it was ordered from the US. You should check with customs on this...
  18. I think it's 1:60. EVIDENCE: 1) The sticker sheet that came with my VF-11 FAST pack stated 1/60 YF-11B in the upper right hand corner of the sheet. I know it's a typo as it should be VF-11, but I'm putting what the sticker sheet says. 2) The height of the Battroid is very close to the VF-1 Battroid height. VF-1 Battroid height: 12.68 meters VF-11 Battroid height: 12.92 meters Just food for thought. But yah I love my VF-11. I'm still kinda worried about the hips, but so far, after multiple transformations and visual inspections, there doesn't seem to be any signs of cracking.
  19. Theoretically, different versions of FAST packs would work on different VFs, provided they did not get in the way of the transformation sequence. For example, you could use the VF-1 FAST packs (at least the back mounted ones) on a VF-11. The only modification required would be the mounting point. However, toy-wise, as it has been stated, it won't work because of all the different scales that the toys are set at. As to the scale of the VF-11, I saw on my stickersheet that came with my VF-11 FAST pack that it was 1:60 scale. Since the battroid mode of a VF-1 and a VF-11 are so simmilar in height (as the "real" height of the two are around 12 m), I think it's safe to assume that a Yamato VF-11 is 1:60.
  20. If you keep the arms stowed, then you can prevent the pins from overlapping when you've deployed the legs. Otherwise, you need to overlap the pins as the shoulder plates won't allow you to have the legs the same distance apart in fighter mode.
  21. You've got two choices. Superglue Epoxy The plus side of superglue is that it will bond instantly. However if you're careless, you might become one with you're VF-1. It's a nice clean fix, but you've got to be cautious as to not accidentally glue anything else... Also, the fumes might fog the canopy, so you might want to consider taking the nose apart. Epoxy is slightly messy, but it will bond and hold the plastic quite well. Pick one and choose.
  22. Well... I suppose it would be ok to reply... Spoiler. It appears that Jason won, but Freddy wasn't done in quite yet. That's the short of it.
  23. A more believable solution would be to make the visor the glasses, if Max's eyes require the same perscription strength. That way, he could simply take off the glasses, and put on the helmet, and presto, he can see the zentradi! I heard that this was being experimented with, and the main problem is cost...
  24. At the Stroke of 11 PM EST, I've got to be at work... And I won't be getting off until 7:30 AM EST... Oh well...
  25. The Japanese version of Optimus will not be battle damaged, nor will his stacks be neutered. I'd suggest Big Bad Toys for a preorder. Hasbro will be having the full sized smokestacks, and as well will be having a battle damaged paint scheme. However, I'm uncertain as to the die-cast content of the Hasbro version. Now the Takara version will have a clean paint job, uncut smokestacks, and will have diecast in it. Pick one and enjoy it.
