Anyone own these? Wondering if they would scale well with the HMR line... Maybe Bandai will eventually release Macross specific accessories for the HMR line...
-
LOL....I guess I should have google translated it... Kazuki Miyatake complete supervision modeling and detailing, gimmick, of course, up to the color ring, were asked to supervision to Mr. Kazuki Miyatake is a designer of Destroy de monster. This time, at that time, the back side of the detail of dozers, which has not been set, have been raised to draw again Well....I'm sure he's a very cool dude!

I knew I recognized those hands from somewhere....
-
Wow...that cockpit detail! Kind of hard to tell but it almost looks like the display screen shows a VF-1 it it's gunsight! Another home run for Bandai!

I still have small children running around my home, so I totally appreciate not worrying about getting digital media "kid" handled... But I'm old school, so I still want the physical media... Although TFA is the laziest, most unimaginative, and overrated piece of movie garbage ever made.....I still own Episode I and Episode 7 it is still a part of the entire SW saga regardless of how awful it is, so I'll get it eventually.... I think I'll do what I did with the LOTR and Hobbit Trilogies and just wait for the inevitable "ultimate" edition after Episode 9 hits the market... Who knows....maybe by then they'll release an ultimate 9 episode "Church of the Force" edition!

Finally sprung mine out of HLJ's collectibles jail....... I will ride eternal, shiny and chrome!!!!

Yeah....I've said it before...this HM/HMR line is pure genius on the part of Bandai...it is the perfect size for an all-encompassing line that mixes mecha from all sides....1/60 and 1/72 are just too big and cost-prohibitive to include some of the larger mechs and vehicles....sure there are some compromises but at this scale it is expected to keep the costs down and quality up.... Love...it's what makes a Hi-Metal R a Hi-Metal R!
-
Fixed it! HM-R = Rebuild....Reboot...Revival....Respect for the past....
-
Exactly what I had in mind..... I have no idea how to clean up an image in photoshop...so I may solicit for some backgrounds later...I'm thinking about taking one of the Tenjin Destroid boxart illustrations and editing out the destroid and foreground objects, like the Defender, Tomahawk, or phalnx in these pics...and just leaving the background image....

ET's VF-2SS is not a trailer queen...more of a 10-footer!
-
I propose Macross needs an official "anime magic" scale....non-scale just induces useless scaling debates since the numbers, anime, and lineart all contradict each other...
-
Or just simply go by this lineart....which is what seems Bandai is using for their HMR scaling...it's perfect!
-
All in on the SAP bundles....can't wait!
-
The Monster's foot seems as big as that dude's hand! Is that the actual HMR Monster? Plus eye spy a Tomahawk and Defender!

You've seen it...you've heard it.....and you're still asking questions?!? - The Goose

Well, based on just what is on the list it is most comparable to the plastic used for the 1/72 Yamato VF-11.....I have everything else on that list and it is nothing like them, in terms of the quality of the plastic....I'm guessing you don't have or ever had a Yamato VF-11b either? Someone else asked if it was like the 1/55 Toynami VF-1 plastic.....I would need to dig mine out.....I do have the Toynami 1/100, but their plastic does not feel the same to me....their plastic is cheaper in quality... Good news is you'll find out eventually!
-
Perhaps that is what ET was counting on? Just kidding.....a little.....
-
I would have to say is it comparable to the infamous Yamato 1/72 VF-11b? Or an old Joons VF-1.....
-
The love and respect for Macross that used to reside at Yamato has now appeared to have taken up permanent residence at Bandai's Macross Products Division.... Finally.....the 30+ year dream started by Takatoku of a full line of in-scale Macross Toys (which includes enemy mecha) is almost over! Thank You Bandai! Keep up the excellent work!
-
As I said previously, this toy has no competition.......when it comes to the VF-2SS.....there can be only one! Because it is the only game in town...there really was no reason to try harder.....it just needed to be "good enough"....competition is the best motivator for achieving the best product....or just wait until someone does "do it better" and then do as the Chinese and upscale/KO the heck out of it...heck maybe even improve on it a little after all the hard work is done!
-
Glad to hear that you and several "first adopters" of the VF-2SS have been generally happy with their purchases. I too have been hoping for 3P Macross ever since the Makurosu came out...even though I am not a big fan of SD versions of toys....the Makurosu was a great first try and gave me hope that it would encourage others to create more Macross product....sadly, all that has materialized are those awful SD VF-1's, which no one seems to like....I guess Macross is just too niche even for 3P... All we can do is keep on dreaming for now... But all is not lost....at least we have our resident 3D artists regularly pumping out cool stuff for us!
-
You should do some more of those gif pics showing what it would look like with "corrected or swappable" parts....like some intake extenders, shortened backpack "plank", and boosters in proper height when in Battroid...
-
Thanks for posting the pics....looks really nice!
-
I say ET should forge ahead with the VF-2J Icarus next....then do the Metaaaal Siiiiren afterwards....then they can revisit the VF-2SS after Bandai releases their diminutive HMR version so they can then upscale it to 1/60 and KO the crap out of it Hong Kong 3P style!
