Looks really good, but no amount of anime sorcery will make a 1/100 Zentran figure fit into a 1/100 HMR Regult.....are you going to offer it as a Plastic Cretins product? It's ironic that it is all the detail that is keeping a 3 3/4" (1/100?) figure from squeezing into the cockpit....I think it is actually big enough if it were mostly hollow....or much smaller internal details...

Yeah....they probably would work too....anyone have some to put them next to an HMR valk for scale comparison?
  3. Just noticed that the Nexx bundle also comes with a display base...but not the Faerie bundle....

...Gundam and Macross.....living together.....Mass hysteria!!!! So I went ahead and bought a pack of the 1/100 Bandai Gunpla Builders figurines....not bad....scales really well with the Macross HMR line....hopefully some Macross editions will be made....for now these will do well in HMR dioramas...

    Needs more anime magic....
  9. Thanks! So that is what you used to "tighten" the leg slots where the arm tabs slide into? I'll look for it this weekend. Thanks again for the tips!
  10. Thanks! So for some one that is trying this for the first time...what is more "goof-proof" future or clear nail polish? I'm thinking nail polish would be easier since it already has the "brush"...but what works best for the newbies....especially in terms of the VF-2SS? And what of the tailwing tabs...is there any hope?
  11. very nice! Any pic tutorial you could offer? Or know of any online? Need pics of where to actually apply the future/nail polish...is it applied to the tab or to the slot? does it make a difference? Also, how much do you apply? Did you add anything to the tailwing tabs? if so, did it help?

In hindsight, the Toynami Regults are actually pretty nice.....arguably the best Macross-related collectible they ever released....well, that is until the Glaugs finally set sail to America from China!

They are releasing the HM-R Super VF-1J Max-Type to go with their all-new HM-R Super VF-1J Milia-Type.....so anything is possible, including the re-release of "R" versions of the remainder of Skull Squadron VF-1A's...they have teased a Super VF-1A Soldier-Type....so again, anything is possible...including packing the "R" versions of the VF-1A Skull Squadron with the S/S packs this time around...who knows, maybe they will go the websclusive route with them once again!...... Personally, I have the originals so it would not bother me if they did not release "R" versions....I would rather they concentrate on new, never before released mecha... I would suggest you wait until they make a determination on whether the Super VF-1A Soldier-Type will be released or not.....I think that would make the release of "R" versions of Skull Squadron more likely......The market price for the old HM's is not going up due to the HM-R releases...so I think you are not in any danger of facing a surge in the prices for the old HM VF-1A's at the moment.....if it becomes apparent that they will not be re-released....then you may have to act fast if you want one as other collectors may also begin wanting them also to complete Skull Squadron.....
  14. Yes, I think others here have also said the same things....however, it also seems that ET has built itself as the purveyor of mecha/robot designs/characters that other players don't touch/produce.....so for better or worse, the VF-2SS certainly falls into that category....Macross II has always been the black sheep of the Macross franchise...and unless Bandai or Arcadia change their views on it, in terms of return on investment, the DX scale license will probably remain in the hands of the ET's of the world...

When I watch that scene and contrast it to Max's demeanor outside of the combat zone.... It makes me think that if the ASS-1 never had crashed onto Earth.....Max would have probably went on to become a prolific serial killer...think Dexter.... I do not get that from SDFM Max....only from DYRL Max......DYRL Max is kinda of a creepy guy.... .
  17. The shiny finish of the VF-2SS is what basically makes it look more toy-like, then model-like.....so it does not have the look of a Yamato or recent Bandai.... I think the price is unfortunately based on how few of these are being made and the fact that not too many people feel they really need a VF-2SS in their 1/60 collection....for what it is and based on the high probability that no one else will make another one at this scale...I think the price is fair.....(there is the teased HMR VF-2SS, but that is going to be in the 1/100-ish scale, plus we still don't know if it will be sold....probably not until the last SDFM/DYRL mecha is released in that line).... As many have now verified, the VF-2SS is extremely solid in Battroid and Gerwalk....there is no way the SAP is going to be an issue in either of those two modes......plus it is going to look intimidating in Battroid....... I really do not think it will be an issue in fighter mode either, but due to Evolution Toys most likely not doing much to improve the fit in fighter mode....at this point I can only hope that the armor itself will provide some better fitting connection points that the bare naked fighter did not.....and hopefully make it one big solid piece.....a fool's hope, but a hope nonetheless.... If you are on the fence, you can probably wait until it is released.....there will be plenty of commentary on it when it gets into our collective hands....and it seems that there will be no mass rush to get it at this point, so you should be safe from not being able to get one during the couple of weeks post-release... Stay tuned I guess....

You can re-enact this scene...... Think I'll have my DarrinG Quamzin figure sit on top of one of my HMR monster's once I get it.....

It is too big...I was hoping the small Matchbox Zentran figure that was posted by sh9000 might fit....but the cockpit area is too shallow.....the torso can potentially be shoehorned into it...but it would be very tight....with the legs there is no way..... I was thinking maybe one of those smaller figurines that came with the Transformers cars from hasbro....I do not own any but remember seeing them at the stores...I think a figure that small could possible fit, but even then I do not think there was any articulation in the legs....it still would need to bend at the knees to get in there.... This is what I am referring to....A pilot in this size might fit.....I think it was smaller than the standard 3 3/4" action figures....hmmmm....maybe it can bend at the knees? Anyone own this figure and can try it out for size inside the HMR Regult?

Bandai is on fire!!! Soooooo.....any of our resident 3D wizards going to work on a Zentran pilot for us? Maybe a few different poses.....coming out of it.....standing next to it....etc
