  1. No worries....might want to look into a higher quality glass frame to mitigate UV light
  2. I've had framed Macross cels and genga hanging on my wall for 30+ years using just low or mid-priced frames you can buy at Michael's....nothing has ever happened to them.....the only thing to do is place them in an area that will have the minimum amount of direct sunlight/general light.....so perhaps a basement or room that you can close the blinds when not in use.... As for storage, I have the majority of them in art portfolio's that I purchased from Michael's....they are safe there, plus it makes them easy to view or show to someone.... I like your idea for display....just as long as the display can be shielded from direct sunlight....so like in a room with either no windows or decent blinds.....
  3. Someone thought The Exorcist needed a TV series..... http://www.thewrap.com/the-exorcist-reboot-pilot-ordered-by-fox/?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Alert&utm_term=breaking-news
  4. What did you have in mind?
  5. As stated, I researched the web also find out more too because the movie left so much out...not by accident, but by design......thus how I was able to better enjoy the second viewing. So I am not saying anything is wrong with wanting to learn more, but if you are one of those rabid SW fans completely buying into Disney's BS multi-media merchandising model in order to get the "complete" picture of the movie's plot...then you'd be an idiot.....and most likely part of the secondary demographic that Disney was after.... The big difference is you do not need to read ANY of the secondary information available to Macross fans in order to understand what's going on in any one Macross series......not so for TFA.... The wealth of data available to complement the Macross "universe", sometimes canon, sometimes not......is just for folks wanting (needing?) to know things like how many rounds are in a GU-11 gunpod or how fast is a VF-1......none of which is required to understand what you are watching on screen, in terms of plot.......
  6. This one? http://www.gallopingghostarcade.com/
  7. LOL.... Anyway.....there is a difference between the application of certain "pillars" that make up a franchise which we expect to be portrayed with each new story.......but blatant copying of the exact same plot devices is just plain lazy storytelling...... Starkiller Base alone is enough proof that they were too lazy to come up with something more original......but Disney just played it safe as they knew the majority of fans would just eat it up.....so why try harder? Let's just hope they can come up with something interesting for the remainder of this trilogy, because they have already ripped off most the best ideas from the OT within the first installment of the ST! As of now, the ridiculous concept of the "Church of the Force" leaves me feeling skeptical.....
  8. So the only differences between the Starkiller Cannon and the Grand Cannon are that it gains it's power from a star instead of the planet's core and it can destroy objects light-years away instead of within it's orbit? Heck....they are both also located in an arctic environment!
  9. Welcome to Disney's Star Wars.....where the (correct) assumption is that enough rabid fans are going to "buy" into the whole mutli-media story-telling model to get the complete picture....as long as these idiots are out there and willing to post all the movie plot holes online....the rest of us can just deal with it....lame, but what can you do.... Once I read about all of the mising details, I actually enjoyed the second viewing.....even though there is still so much wrong with it....and, more importantly, forwared the story by lazily/blatantly stealing from the OT to fill in about 75% of the entire movie.....in short, when all is said and done and the ST is completed....folks will be talking about condensing TFA to just include the final 30 minutes or so.....
  10. Not really. Hollywood spends tons of cash to do market research to know what will work for today's moviegoers.....and it is noticibly different (for example a movie's pacing) from what was acceptable years ago... Congrats...your nephews buck the trends....they are the outliers.....but sadly, you show most kids in that age group a classic animated Disney film from the 40's vs Toy Story or Frozen...and they will be bored with the classic style animation/storytelling........it is what it is....
  11. All you need to know.... http://www.fukushuu.org/cels/celfaq.php?g=y
  12. Anyone here nab this one? Way to go! At least it won't get marked up on ebay....maybe! http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b192540297
  13. Thanks! My current Macross collecting quest centers mainly on Macross merchandise from the SDFM era produced by Ohsato....I find myself discovering new things from them all the time....they were prolific purveyors of amazing Macross junk! http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?app=gallery&album=618
  14. YJA is going to be your best option these days
  15. HG needs to relaunch a Robotech meatpie campaign....
  16. What exactly is the point of the ST...other than to reboot the franchise and cash in on OT fanboys and grab a bigger piece of the Disney core demographic pie? The PT chronicles Anakin's downfall. The OT depicts his redemption. This was done in 6 movies.....the ST will now do the same in 3? I'm just glad they are doing the SW stories...although so far it seems the stories are centering around events and characters we are familiar with, but don't know the "whole" story....so kinda following the PT formula....we know how it ends....but not how it played out....should be more interesting....at this point maybe Rebels is the most original SW storyline going....although I have not had a chance to see it...
  17. Wow....can't argue with that reasoning!Anyway....TFA is about as lazy and unimaginative a movie can get....Disney knows the target demographic wouldn't notice the blatant rehashing from the OT...and let's face it....that demographic is the same demographic that made SW what it is today in the late 70's/early 80's.....mainly elementary school age kids....not old fanboys....most in this movie's targeted group may find the OT boring compared to todays faster action requirements for movies....and shorter attention spans....it works for so many older viewers most likely due to pure nostalgia and the return of core characters....if you take off the blinders, this movie is mediocre at best...all hype, little substance....
  18. Yeah....the music from TFA is the worst of all SW movies so far....actually, it's the only forgettable one thus far.....the rest are great....it's like John Williams found some unused forgettable tracks from his Harry Potter score and repurposed them for TFA...
  19. Well, there's the Emo Ren rage scenes which ended up being quite comical....how much comic fodder has this idiot character provided? No one will be able to watch him during the next installment and not think of his "twitter" persona....he is a joke...they should have never filmed those scenes of brooding rage....epic fail... Basically, the entire movie was just filler we were forced to sit through so we could stare in awe at Hamill's movie-stealing final scene...and give some fool's hope that something interesting might happen during the next installment... Everything else in TFA is just a giant f'ing commercial to sell action figures and other junk for Disney...
