Isn't that the price you pay with the estimated shipping direct from KL? Guess this isn't moving as fast as KL thought it would. The good thing is when things go to RT.com they usually end up getting deep discounts. Might still get to see this for $1000 shipped....

yeah, that one is tough....I also was searching for a good background, but I think it will need to be a combination of several photos.....you first need a street shot in just the right angle....then you need some pics of fairly modern-ish looking buildings in the same angle as the street scene.....I think this one might work in terms of the street's angle...but I do not like the buildings. maybe the blue-ish top part of this building can be added... This one has a matching angle too and looks good for the part I think... Then you need some for the opposite side of the street.... I like your idea of using a warehouse ceiling pic.....maybe a pic of hanger ceiling or aircraft carrier hanger cieling? yep....it will be a challenge to compose this iconic shot from SDFM....

the poor man's version! Scale those CMs up to 1/12 scale and they would be perfect...plus it would be feasible to actually buy one of each in the "Cockpits of Macross" series......make it so Bandai! Oh and feel free to leave out the LEDs, LCDs, and speaker-stand!

I like the background illustration....looks like something I've seen recently....but I doubt this book will have much in terms of new original illustrations or artwork.....probably just a rehash of what I already own..... I appreciate good original artwork, especially if it is Macross-related, so will just wait and see what this actually turns out to be... -

Took some pics for this scene.... Thought this background might work.... Also thinking ahead with this one....but haven't thought about what to use for a background.....was thinking some hanger or large warehouse pic.... Finally.....was thinking of combining HMR and Toynami regults for this scene......Staging for the assault on South Ataria! I would need to dig out my Toynami small/large missile regults....unless SH9000 has them out already.... Maybe a background like this, think it matches the anime scene well.....was trying to search for backgrounds for south pacific islands but couldn't find anything that matched....will try to find something better.....

looking good..... I wonder if shrinking the toy pic a little more will help it scale better with the background buildings, especially those behind Roy.... Or, based on the reference pic from the show....maybe just tighten up the shot? you are right...his arm was blown away.....the devil is in the details!

Wow...you're good! I didn't even realize that you added the clear canopy to the VF-1D until you brought it up....and yes, now I see Hikaru! Starting to figure out what scenes from Episode 3: Space Fold would be cool......I'm thinking Megahouse TV SDF-1 + pic of ocean/city, maybe space + effects to get this scene...

The HMR GBP is actually not "Hikaru's" GBP....it is technically the GBP as it appears in DYRL (Bandai got the missile tip color wrong) which is piloted by an unknown pilot....
