  1. I wonder if Arcadia would actually need a license or permission from BW to incorporate all of these "improvements" into their current mold. Other than the "waist twist", none would seem particularly difficult to incorporate in the current 1/60 Arcadia, including the more lineart accurate rear landing gear positioning and swiveling front landing gear from the recent KO. If Arcadia had went back and added all these "tweaks" I do not think we would be calling it a "V3". It would be something, though, if the KO makers went back to the drawing board and incorporated all these "improvements" into a 1/60 VF-1 KO V1.5? I have not followed the 1/60 KO VF-1 discussion that closely, but I think someone posted that the mold isn't exactly a 100% Arcadia copy. Interesting possibilities. And what are the odds of an upscaled DX-1J? Maybe even a KO 1/35th?
  2. Old school never gets old!
  3. Don't care for it. I would have preferred "neck parts"...or some better execution/design. I have had it for a few days now and find the detachable leg "gimmick" really annoying/dissapointing. I really cannot think of it as an improvement over the Yamato...unless you are comparing it to the Yamato V1 where both legs detached separately. In all, I see this DX as a moderate improvement over the Yamato 1/48 , rather than the Yamato V2. By no means is it a giant leap forward in VF-1 toy design. This definitely not the "ultimate" VF-1 we were waiting for. Maybe in another 5-10 years? With that said, it doeslooks great in all 3 modes, but that detachable leg gimmick, to me, leaves me feeling like something better can be done...perhaps it really does need to be in that 1/35 scale they teased to be able to accomplish "ultimate" status. I honestly hope that if Bandai ever "downscales" this DX to more of a 1/60....that they drop the detachable leg gimmick, seems more of a headache than what you get out of it.

  5. Would have been nice to have included a TV fist....but then again how would Bandai be able to force me to buy a TV hand set... Anyone try the Yamato 1/48 TV hands on the DX?
  6. Wait.....Evolution Toys is coming out with a VF-1 GBP set?
  7. I ended up buying a set off Ebay with one of those discounts over the holidays....the SDF-1 is ok....I bought them to see how they compared to the old school Takatoku sofubis....still haven't had a chance to do that....I'll post some pics when I do.... As for the super-size chunky....I meant that I would literally want it to just be an upscaled chunky....not some vinyl take on it.....complete with the original Takatoku box and styrofoam! A 2 or 3ft version of the original 1/55.
  8. A little tape and some well-angled photo shots = real-life anime magic!
  9. I'd buy every variant.....if they were jumbo-machinder-sized!

The DYRL N-Ger showed up again as part of the boxart on the recent HMR SuperO.....that has to mean something, right? RIGHT?!?!

I think the differences are too radical, it would definitely need to be a separate release.....no conversion kit for this one I'm afraid ...however, they can easily come up with a TV/DYRL Q-Rau hybrid though

What are the odds of getting a TV N-Ger knowing that they already seem to have a DYRL version ready to go? Based on what has been released (both HM and HMR), it would seem we are much closer to a complete HM/HMR DYRL Macross mech set rather than a complete TV set. Ironically, both the TV and DYRL sets will still need the Tomahawk, Phalanx, Q-Rau and N-ger to complete either set. But, as we all know, the Q-Rau and N-ger are "different" for both. For the most part I would prefer to get a complete set of at least one of them, TV or DYRL...however, I do enjoy the designs from the TV series over the DYRL stuff.
  13. Sure.....right now if it wasn't for the PO I wouldn't be able to get this anywhere....can't recall this happening with any other book recently....usually they may get releases pushed back but the po links remain active and available....
  14. Asked KC about the holdup....they said they hope to start shipping end of next week
  15. It is a Mikimoto "All Macross" artbook coming out in April....seems it will be pretty comprehensive
  16. yeah, guess some collectors could save some money by bundling
  17. Blasphemous!
  18. Seems the book has gone stealth....but here's the ISBN....pretty sure it will be available beyond Amazon.jp once a release date gets locked in... Kadokawa Shoten / A4 / 3000 / ISBN: 9784041065068
  19. I receive the same error....still in my order history on Amazon.jp though, hope it was not cancelled.....maybe something to do with the release date change....although I am sure it will have plenty we have already seen in other of his artbooks, I am hoping it has a few pages covering his MtF character designs....I'd be disappointed if it did not...
  20. Looks like the next Mikimoto Macross Art book was pushed back a few extra days to 04-03-2019. Now when will the 4th Sorties book come out? Although if it means waiting for a few more Macross HM-R releases, like the VF-4 and perhaps even the Tomahawk and Phalanx...I guess I can wait a bit longer
  21. Should be cool to see the VF-11MAXL
