So how many have they not given us at least one version from either TV or DYRL.....there is not that many to begin with... Q-Rau N-Ger We technically have had 3 different Regults and 1 Glaug.....but like I said..there are basically just 4 to choose from....Regult, Glaug, Q-Rau and N-Ger....so we are 50% complete....just like the Destroids.... And I think the DYRL N-Ger has a good shot of being released soon.....patience padawans!

They should just combine A/B and C/D and either drop E or make it a one-off with all possible weapons and armor.....maybe they would get their pre-orders if customers/fans felt they were get more for their money. Nahhhh!!!

The Yamato V1 hasn't aged well at all.....but it scooped the Bandai on that waist swivel! I would have preferred they skipped it....or come up with something that didn't become an unintended parts-former.

And yet...if released as is....would we buy it? It would be the only 1/6 Hikaru in town.....perhaps on deep discount? It probably would not be less than the MSRP on the upcoming KC 1/12 Hikaru. The dead expression on the face, especially the eyes, somewhat reminds me of Elijah Wood's Frodo Baggins.....after being wrapped up by the giant spider...

That is a great idea.....I have little faith that Bandai would make them....but maybe one of our resident 3D pros could?

Very fair review. I think the issues it has does not keep it from being a great addition to any Macross collection. Ironically, the most damning part of the review in my opinion, was not even against this toy, but rather against Arcadia"s so-called "Premium Finish". The side by side pics were like a smoking gun against Arcadia's PF nonsense. Same goes for Bandai's DX. Sure it's "PF", but it should have been "KC" finish. If anything...the finish on the KC 1/72 VF-1S does set a new bar in what "Premium Finish" should be and what we should be asked to pay for it.

Well....in all fairness.....the actual cockpit is pure win....Robotech or not....which I think is why it makes it odd that they decided to cut corners on the 1/6 figure....can it even wear the helmet or can it just hold it? Also does the face sculpt look different on the final product?

If you like to display your valks more so than handling/playing with them...then the KC 1/72 VF-1S should satisfy...it looks really good, the tampo and markings are what you would expect from a top of the line toy....it has it's faults, but they are nothing that will take away from being able to display it and enjoy looking at it....the light-up gimmick is also well-done and not superflouous, like Toynami's glowing head visor on their MP 1/55. Not sure if KC will address any of it's issues on the next releases, the biggest being the connection points from the intakes to the main body...and to be honest, it only really affects gerwalk mode the most, but it will still hold a decent pose with some "massaging" at the intake connections. Battroid and fighter modes are pretty solid...with fighter mode feeling the most solid. Battroid feels a little "wobbly" at the knee joints, but it does not hamper it from standing or posing. Hopefully, KC will tighten the knees up a bit on future releases.

Several of the promo shots included the "Space use" helmet...also, the flight suit without the "elvis collar".... Also, I always imagined the flight suits being made of cloth materials...not latex!

Imagine if it goes to $500+ due to short supply on release day....

What site did you find the pic on? Did they have any other close-ups for the M0 and MF valks? -

Bandai "teased" a DX VF-19Kai a few years back....that teaser display is becoming more of a "coming soon" display -
Macross cels, a lost art.... Speaking of Macross cels and cool poses.....the DX -1J, with all the extra articulation, recreates the anime magic from this scene/cel a bit better than the Yamato V2! ...but now I "need" those extra pre-posed TV hands...curse you Bandai!!

Yeah....and nicer tampo (even the ejection seat labels are printed), panel lines, neck covers...oh and wait till you see the red-tipped RMS-1's! Apparently BW must have some stipulation that prohibits red-tipped RMS-1 reaction warheads on any TV VF-1 they license.... But, you get two stands that flawlessly work for all three modes though...that's something! Well, one is strictly for fighter mode....instead of including missiles, because everyone will pay Bandai extra for missiles these days! See you at the PO madness tonight!!!

I'm good until Bandai decides to "right-size" the current DX line to 1/60-ish....

So basically, this "stand" is at best "better than nothing"....the only mode that it seems to have had any thought put into it was the fighter mode...well, at least with gunpod attached! Although it is tricky to get the gunpod into the slots on either end of the stand...once it's in, it seems to make the entire fighter fairly secure....the back piece doesn't seem to swing far back enough to allow for an easy install or removal.... When using the fighter stand without the gunpod.....it just "sits" on the two ends of the stand.....nothing seems to peg into place......and does not feel all that secure Gerwalk and Battroid are not much different, to be honest, they probably are worse as there is no otion specifically designed with this stand to securely support it....again, like the "gupod-less" fighter mode...the valk just rests on the stand....in gerwalk....the stand holds the figure right behind the head...at least as best as I could tell, there doesn't seem to be anywhere else to mount it onto.... For battroid...the "mounting point" seems to be right under the backpack.....again, nothing seems to click or tab into place......maybe it will work better with the Fast Packs??? One more thing to note.....there is no mention of the stand or how to mount the toy onto it in the enclosed instructions for this KC VF-1S.....so I guess figure it out yourself! If KC does nothing to improve the attachment points for the Gerwalks and Battroid modes....at least they claim future releases will include "clear" stands.... All said, I don't buy valks because of their great stands.....or lack thereof. I still really like KC's 1/72 VF-1S and look forward to the rest of their 1/72Macross lineup!
