  1. Retconning the idea that the last time Obi Wan and Anakin were face to face was during their "final" lightsaber duel on Mustafar would be a "jumping the shark" moment for Star Wars.......it's either going to be some dream, one of those lame "Force dyad" fights like seen in the ST, or a Force-driven waking dream like Luke had on Dagobah......additionally, not sure if there has been any news of this, but I hope Liam Neesom is in this....if there has been no news, I hope they are keeping his involvement secret....he would be the perfect companion for Obi Wan during his solitude on Tatooine and besides...Yoda said he would be!! I really do not think Obi Wan and Vader will actually fight "in person"....but I think that they may show how Obi-Wan came to know that Anakin had become more "machine now, than man. Twisted and evil"...so hopefully a mission off-Tatooine will be mandated, where he "witnesses" Vader's attrocities first-hand and sees personally what Anakin has become........this "encounter" shocks him to the core, he had heard the stories for a few years now and seen some images before...all from the relative obscurity of Tattooine...but he preferred not to think of it, the images of Anakin cutting down younglings were always on his mind....he did not need further evidence of his "failure on Mustafar".....but now his new failure at [insert new planet here] where he once again let his feelings about his former padawan cloud his judgement and stopped him from taking action against "Vader"......instead, telling himself that his path now was not one that would involve "taking out" Vader personally, but one that would involve the protection of "Hope" at all costs.....nevertheless, Obi Wan continues to second guess himself and his faith in the Force.....Qui Gon assures him that he is on a path willed by the Force.....he starts having intense visions and nightmares of Anakin as Vader...culminating in Vader slicing him in half...just like we saw in ANH...only without Obi Wan becoming one with the Force.....it is at this point that Obi Wan realizes what he must do when he next encounters "Vader", his lost friend, for the last time...he looks onto Qui Gon's Force ghost who nods at him and fades away....his final training is complete........the series ends with Obi Wan, 10 years or so in the future, producing that Krayt Dragon shriek, scaring away the Tusken Raiders, as he heads towards the injured Luke....the final destination of his path now completely clear to him as the twin setting suns of Tatooine before him... I am not sure how they plan on portraying Vader in the series, but if Vader is going to be mostly in Obi Wan's dreams/head...then I hope Vader is an extreme Vader...the kind of Vader that we all have envisioned in our collective heads....the Vader that terrifies and neutralizes hope...a brutal Vader so evil that he can only possibly exist in feverish Force induced nightmares.......it is when Obi Wan comes to the realization that no living being, no matter how powerful they are in the Dark Side, can match the power gained by becoming one with the Living Force that his fears dissipate and the path before him becomes clear... They need to make some dream/vision sequences with this type of over the top action....
  2. Links to sites offering an item need to be posted in the "where to buy" threads......do not double post sales links and defintiely do not post sales links in the dedicated toy threads......as I said on the GBP thread, I think you are new so you may not know about this, but now you definitely do....stop posting sales links in dedicated toy threads...use the "where to buy" threads to post links to available items
  3. Members here can find the links when posted in the correct sections of the site...they do not need for you to post in two different areas of the site....unless it is a link to a recent PO (ex. 2 weeks after PO night or 2 weeks after release day) just post links to sites offering a deal or the item in the "where to buy" threads..... I think you are new here, but you have been told about this behavior on a number of occasions by a few different members....I hope you can act accordingly going forward since you now know exactly how you should be posting these type of sale links
  4. I am among those that don't care much for the path Macross has taken, story-wise...however, I collect the VF's because I still enjoy the evolution of Kawamori's original VF design...some are better than others and I still hold the VF-1 as my favorite....I'll continue to get the latest VF toys for the foreseeable future...again, not because I particularly liked the shows released since SDFM/DYRL, but because I enjoy collecting the mecha, which is mostly in the form of new VF designs
  5. The Macross Plus dubs of the original OVA are the best dubs/voice acting of any anime I have ever watched....bad dubs are the major reason I don't watch much anime because I usually can't get past the awful voice acting and I have no interest in reading subs during an entire movie or series, so for the most part, recent anime has been an easy pass for me.......more importantly...the Movie version of M+ removes one of the best sequences of M+, which is Dyson owning those rogue Zentrans slackers at the beginning of the OVA series.....I can't recall the last time I watched the movie version because I much prefer the OVA.....
  6. I'm sure your fighting skills are impressive, but.... - jvmacross, acquirer of rare Macross antiquities
  7. Watched it...there was some cool footage of the early white armored Fett...not sure if it was new or not...and the usual fett scenes from the Films....basically just a long promo for TBOBF
  8. Done...Sadly, we can't even get the "veterans" to lead by example and post sales links in the appropriate "Where to Buy" threads, let alone the newbies...
  9. Someone started the weekend early!
  10. If you have been collecting since the 80's, then you should have given up all hope of "variety" when it comes to Macross....for the toys...it is all about the original VF-1 (the only time it is not is when Bandai is releasing VFs to cash in on a new Macross series...and even then, it will be mostly the "VF's" from the new series that will get produced)...The original VF-1 gets a reboot/update every decade or so...it's been more or less consistent....the only time that things veered from this formula was during the Yamato days (1/60 Destroids and a few oddball releases) and more recently with the Bandai HMR line (Destroids and some enemy mechs)......the biggest hope now would be for Bandai to follow up on what they have teased in terms of enemy Macross mecha....time will tell, but, unfortunately, it also tells us that the odds are against it...

  12. About 150-200 USD for a used/complete sample...however, the damage on yours is going to hurt it's potential market value with at least a 30% mark down...the hardest part would be finding someone who is "ok" with the specific damage....usually, if the damage does not affect functionality (ex. it can transform into all modes) or if it is not easily visible it is less impactful on what it can sell for....your sample seems to be fine if kept in fighter mode, with the obvious damage only fully noticeble in gerwalk or battroid modes.....so this may help find a buyer...good luck! As for the Mospeada bikes.....I wouls strongly advise you NOT to sell as a lot....you never achieve maximum potential profits in doing so.... My advice would be to take the best figure and match it up to the best bike....then take the second best figure and match it up to the second best bike....sell both sets individually......at that point you could toss in an extra figure to each set as a "bonus".....as for value.....I am not that tuned into the Mospeada collectibles aftermarket, but casually viewing past auction sales should give you a good idea on price....I want to say $100 or so for each set, assuming there is no damage or missing parts....
  13. In my area, all three theatres showing this are within 20 minutes from me....however, releasing it as subtitled makes it an easy pass for me...I'd make an exception if it were DYRL
  14. Probably not....maybe if it was DYRL
  15. Did someone mention hope?
  16. That's right Bandai....we need these instead of an HMR Tomahawk, Phalanx, or N-Ger...
  17. I'd consider a KC TV SDF-1 if they ever get to releasing one, hopefully they have been working on it to be more lineart accurate
  18. Sheesh...I hope not....I sometimes wonder why I am still collecting some of this stuff now, let alone 40 years from now! .....I still think the Morinagas are possible.....but that could just be a fool's hope....
  19. Nice...wasn't there another one you acquired recently? Or maybe it was one that got away?
  20. yes, from the minds of Ohsato!
  21. Collection 2 samples of the Morinaga Macross Choco-Corn mini kits are hard to come by. I can only assume they were produced in even less numbers than the Collection 1 kits. As shown in the previous posts...Collection 1 consists of the following 8 kits: Defender Battroid Valkyrie VF-1J Spartan Armored Valkyrie Tomahawk Glaug Gerwalk Valkyrie Phalanx Collection 2 consists of the following 8 kits: Super Valkyrie Gerwalk Battroid Valkyrie VF-1S Super Valkyrie Battroid Q-Rau N-Ger Scout Regult Missile Pod Regult Monster Needless to say, the hunt for any Collection 2 Morinaga Macross kits has been all about the long game! Thankfully, I was able to add a few to my collection recently. A few I had never actually seen a copy of before on auction or from available pics on the webs, which are scarce to begin with. Morinaga Choco-Corn Macross kits - Collection 2 Super Valkyrie Gerwalk N-Ger....yes, it is missing the shoulder cannon...I usually do not buy anything "incomplete" but I made an exception for this fellow...Due to its rarity I figured having an incomplete specimen was better than not having any at all...this was the first one I had ever seen in any condition, so not sure when the next one will pop-up.... Q-Rau........All of these kits were released in 1984 and are TV versions, but I guess molding it in red was sort of timely... Battroid Valkyrie VF-1S....I can just pretend this is "Max's" DYRL VF-1S to go with the red "Milia" Q-Rau posted above.... So 4 down.....4 more to go! Not sure how long it will take to find the rest of Collection 2, but in addition to the kits...there are also 2-3 additional box variants and a coupe of ultra-rare Morinaga mail-away background display boards.... The hunt still keeps collecting vintage Macross interesting after all these years!
