Last night I was messing around with my Isamu YF-29 and thinking about some of the criticisms it's received for being very "Super Robot" like in many respects. It obviously has a lot of pointy bits hanging off of it and it's bristling with weapons. It got me thinking about the different weapon load-outs on all of the Valks and I realized that it took iterations from the 19, 21/22, 24/25/27 to eventually reach weapon load out parity with the VF-17. Something I found funny considering the 17 is about the opposite of the 29 in look (though no less pointy.) But look at it. The 17 has medium cannons in the forearms, the 29 has the high bore cannons on it's back. The 17 has the smaller cannons mounted towards the cockpit/chest. The 29 has smaller cannons in the wing roots which become the greeble bits on the hips in Gerwalk/Battroid. The 17 and 29 both have their main gun pods. They both also have rear facing light lasers as well. In addition the 17 has internal mini-missiles launchers in the shoulders. The 29 has the same. The 17 has internal room for heavier missiles as well, the 29 instead has more mini-missiles mounted to the legs. And that's before either of them have their Fast Packs mounted, which gives them both a lot more missiles. That's some pretty effective craft when you consider how little some of the other fighters carry. The VF-1 and 11 both only have their small bore lasers, gun pod and wing mounted missiles on their own. They seem positively defenseless. I thought it was interesting one extremely showy Valk and one very utilitarian looking Valk both wind up having very similar loud outs.

I really do want one of these. Gerwalk won't be terribly poseable...

Other then the rear canopy being more round I'm still not seeing it. Somebody put together a side-by-side and highlight all of these differences because I still can't tell.
-
I want to see the toy. Thanks.
-
As of the last pics of the prototype we've seen it has hard points all over the toy and I'd like to see what it looks like with missiles actually attached.

Hmph, I don't want to pre-order at AE because they want you to pay up front. I'm still saving for 19 and Ozma 29. I'd rather have June and part of July to save for this.

Yeah, that's what I meant to say. No. Nothing for Alto at all.

I don't own Sony products, I can't play the game. That's possible, so either it's a giant rip-off to buy some additional missiles for the YF-30 or there's a chance there's some additional armor/accessories we don't know about yet that have been designed for the thing as well. Probably overpriced missiles though.

Oh yeah, there were some guys who did it wht the V1's and it looked pretty cool. The only down side is that I don't own the Armors for Alto so I can't do it on his, but I can fix Michael's G like that.

I can't see the wings swapping out on this thing like on the 171.
-
I'm not sure if it's degradation per se, but the fit is definitely not the same.

I think I will buy both of these. It's too bad that I never got the Armor parts for Alto's Valk, however, as I don't care for the look of the giant cannons popping up and would prefer a hybrid missile pack/Tornado wings combo.

Nah, the 30 isn't just a 25 redo even if they share a lot of aesthetics. The transformations are different enough. However I would like to see more images in all modes just to get more of a sense of it's proportions and with the hard points in use because I'd like to see how this thing looks fully loaded.
-
I was curious about that too. I was hoping somebody who owned the V1 sets would try to compare them and comment.

I'm not the type of person to buy something planning to sell it later. This is more of a, "I don't care for it now, but the moment MacrossJunkie posts pics of his all done up I'll hate myself for not buying them." Honestly, I only really like the way the super parts look on the G, but I also only really like how the Tornado parts look on the G so it's a tough decision considering I don't own two G's.

To me it almost seems like the tooling was off on all of the CF's. I transformed my Alto pretty much along side my CF and where everything was tight on the Alto it also all lined up. On the CF it seemed like the black triangles weren't sitting in shoulders quite straight. The arms didn't line up as well when attaching to the backpack in fighter. Just something about that entire mechanism seemed off. Plus the materials honestly feel different. The CF feels like cheaper plastic and I think Bandai cut corners all around on it.

Hmm, not sure if I'll buy both of these or not. They're limited so I'm tempted to get them just because it might be harder to find them down the road if I have a change of heart.

I've been standing here with one of my 25's in hand comparing it side-by-side with these new pics and I still can't see any differences in cockpit/canopy length over the original.
-
Regardless of what the actual differences might be I've been trying to compare my toys here with the photos and it appears Junkie is correct. They don't appear to be switching up the parts too much from the other releases.
-
Damn, I was hoping there were more updates. I've been waiting to see this thing complete.

I kinda don't want them to re-release M&M because then I'll have to re-buy just for the side covers... well, unless the side covers aren't color matched and are just grey. Then I don't really care.
-
But Orguss was made along side Macross. It just makes sense to keep the scales the same.

I own 20 differenet VF-1's so I can't complain. So with this, it seems more and more likely Bandai might make a YF-24 except for the fact that side-by-side they're VERY similar looking in fighter mode.

Oh hell, I'm gonna have to bite. I like that head style in Battroid. I noticed that website linked to mentions 2014|6? Does that mean this sucker is coming in June? You don't like the Gerwalk Slalom look? Also, where's my YF-30 news, dammit?
