slick!

Saw it this weekend, and it's really special, though not a movie for everyone. I'd call it the antithesis to "The right stuff" or "Apollo 13", in that it refuses the viewer the superficial glory, but it puts a very human (and controversial) scale to man's journey into space. It's very convincing in portraying the physical and psychological strain at play, with masterful cinematography and another killer performance from Gosling and Foy. The narration is less anecdotical, but more impressionist in style, and it paints a strong, butdifferent picture from what we're used to that way. The movie probably leaves you glad you didn't choose "Astronaut" as a career, but it doesn't diminish the achievement of the people who did.

Peter Jackson's Mortal Machines

Good concept (reminds me of Chris Bachlo's Steampunk comics), but I'm getting real tired of another "Chosen One" story. -
That scheme must have been quite a headache to pull off, but it was worth it.

The space shots are there from the beginning of the movie, the rest is dialogue/overdubbing. Imagine the bonfires if the spy turns out to be Holdo...

Keeping Finn in stasis would be a good start and spare us his side plot. Instead of the slo-mo car chase, have the resistance jump and then a countdown running until the FO shows up again due to a spy within the resistance fleet (BSG has shown ho to do this properly). Poe is on the spy, while his squadron gets decimated against the wave of TIEs the FO sends out every time before the next jump.

I can't wait to walk into the office and announce that I'm having a "bad g-day" today -
I read some scathing reviews prior to seeing the movie, and I have to say, did they even watch "Bohemian Rhapsody" or were they working off a list of things they wanted to hate? The movie was Awesome!!! and it was the movie Freddie and the band, and the fans, deserved. It wasn't a documentary, it was fictionalization in the spirit of Queen, and Malek was totally rocking it on stage and on screen. Say what you will about Singer, the direction and cinematography were flawless. Great experience, and it must be seen on the big screen.

Volks has produced a pretty elaborate toy of the Kaiserin (Empress) from Nagano's recent FSS iteration Gothicmade. http://www.taghobby.com/archives/235941 So the standard Mortar Headd should be no problem.

http://www.comicsbeat.com/dark-horse-announces-comic-adaptation-of-william-gibsons-alien-3-script/ I read Gibson's script back in the day and found it pretty cool (but not really fitting into the franchise). Unfortunately, the art from DC's adaption looks pretty lame, IMO. -

Misa's face looks extremely narrow in some of the concept art. I think the figure captures her features pretty well, looking at other pictures.

…or if they'll be P-Bandai, of course. I have received Digitarian's resin S-Gundam bust (great details!) and will try to fix this on my MG kit.

Thanks for your comments, Flarpen. The actuators were included with the kit, but I only found out after I finished it that I forgot to put them on. And since I only collected pics of the earlier generation Viggens with the splinter camo (the JAs were painted grey later) I never noticed the navigation lights were in the wrong position. A Draken is in the works btw...

Yeah, I was concerned about the torsion. The touchdown didn't look bad. The fuselage looks weird, on the real plane, there's only a minimal height difference between the RIO's and the pilot's seat. In the pic, it looks almost like a SU-30. -

The comment section of the F-16 article is pretty hilarious. Also, I wonder if the TUI bird from M'Kyuun's post will be in need of a new landing gear?
