There ya go. I'll vote for this one if I can. I really like this dark scheme and it'll go well with my SDF Macross set.

It's a Jameson fighting with a lightsaber! Cool

Oh, I understand now. That's interesting. I've always wanted to give some 3D programs a try. I even downloaded the free version of Maya last year, but never got around to playing with it. I'm going to devote some time to that soon.

That is a great picture and her butt looks perfect to me! I like the colors and lighting you used. They look very convincing for adding some substance to the lineart. Well done!

Very sorry to hear about the file being corrupted. I'm not sure I fully understand how that happens, but I'm unfamiliar with 3D programs in general. I am very thankful the model at least survived and you're able to continue work, albiet slowly. The results look fantastic!

I was really hoping for that minimalist desert scape to get some votes, but looks like I'm out of luck. Didn't realize there was a tight time limit or I would have voted this morning First choice of the semi-finalist designs is 18. Seems like the only uniform design with a consistant motif. Second choice is 10. I always loved the Sharon/Plus logos on black.

Very nice. I like the stand up from prone position. Very creepy.

Damn, just noticed this thread is active again. I'll vote later today. There are tons of great designs! I'm definitely willing to purchase a Macross Plus box.

Hahahahahah!!! The catapult slide show is fantastic! :) I must watch the rest of them. After work though -
Sounds interesting. I'd like to look at it first before buying, because I'm really a fan of the Variable mecha of Kawamori's and the SDF Macross ship design more than any other mechanical designs in the original Macross.

Those are great beauty shots of the Vader costume. I'm really glad that nowadays they release these kinds of reference shots for fans. Quite often there isn't enough screen time for a lot of the great designs I love to examine as a sci-fi fan. Costumes, city scapes, and starships are always fun to look at in detail.

The question itself implies we are to impart some significant end to the contraversy that has become part of this board. As a member here at MW who typically never engages in the Macross 7 debate, I can offer very little of a definitive conclusion. I can offer an opinion and an intelligent evaluation. I've seen the first dozen episodes of Macross 7 and all four episodes of Macross 7 Dynamite. Having seen everything else Macross, I invest no effort to watch any more Macross 7 or related spin-offs for various reasons, all of which can be reduced to one word that describes Macross 7 in my eyes; forgettable. I tend to view art (Macross 7 is art, despite the controversy) in terms of its value in either one of two categories: Art that entertains relative to the state of the medium Art that contributes to the expansion and exploration of the medium to which it belongs Everything I watch can be measured by the success achieved in those two categories. It's a simple system that allows me to enjoy something silly, yet highly entertaining or enjoy other works more provocative and existential. Macross 7 is a work which offers insignificant value to me relative to the genre, the medium, or other works of entertainment or art. As such, Macross 7 becomes banal and is easily dismissed in favour of much more promising works that are more deserving of time and attention by the critical eye. Examining Macross 7 in great detail may ease the minds of those defending their adoration for the series, but the truth is Macross 7 is undeserving of such scrutiny and the vehemence of fans does little to persuade non-fans of its worth. As a piece of entertainment or art, Macross 7 succeeds only in as much as it can entice and maintain the interest of the viewer. As a viewer, I remain uninspired by Macross 7 and I'm unimpressed by what little it has to offer me or my love for entertainment and art.

Thanks for the news! This would be a real treat to read. I've never seen any of the original Vampire Hunter D stories, only the two films. But I've known of the history around the productions of the films and the Hideyuki Kikuchi original stories for years. The price is very affordable as well.

I'd have to agree. Maybe the 1/48 FAST Pack sets have spoiled me, but I'd like to have individual missile racks. Hell, I'd settle for one removable block of missiles that has individually carved missiles, even if they are all one unit.

That's seriously cool. Only original series fans would actually understand what that was I love it!

Personally, the only thing I iver liked about Bubblegum Crisis was the mecha designs and a cheap thrill off the fanservice. Regardless, high resolution pictures of anything anime is VERY rare, so thank you very much for the wallpaper. I'm gonna save it right now.

I'm gonna try to buy a double pack of the Ghost in the Shell special edition and GITS 2, but it doesn't look like anyone is offering it. Damn!
-
Damnit that's one huge dropship! If I had some place to put the thing, I'd be all over it. The Aliens dropship is one of the classic sci-fi vehicle designs of all time. I'd really like to get one.

All of that cool stuff gets published in April. I won't have a problem staying away from the novelisation, but I can't wait to get my mitts on the Incredible Coss Sections, The Art Of ROTS and the making of ROTS books. I found a listing on Amazon.com that gives a March 28, 2005 release date for Episode III ICS. Is this a confirmed date?

Those are some great pictures! I must admit, I don't care for the s-foil fighters with the funny noses, but I do like those new Jedi fighters. Obi-Wan's episode II Jedi Aethersprite Fighter is still the best looking of the prequel fighters IMO, but I do like the TIE fighter design lineage on the new Jedi fighters. I can't wait for the next ICS book. Speaking of which, does anyone know when the Episode III Incredible Cross Sections book will be released? Going by the past release dates, it should be in the next few months maybe?

I'm gonna try to follow the fourth season for as long as I can. Last year I missed the fourth episode of season three and refused to keep watching after I missed an episode. Tony got shot in that episode too! I didn't look at any spoilers on the net and basically spent an entire year with that cliffhanger in my mind! So far I've watched every season on DVD and only three episodes on television. I'll probably only last a week or two and then something will occur during the time slot that will force me to miss it. Friends will want to go out for someone's birthday or something, a family function, I'll just forget, my girlfriend will wanna hang, etc, etc. I wish they would release the DVD sets first

That's a fantastic shot of Vader's helmet and Ben from Episode III. He looks so much like Alec Guinness now with the older costume and the beard. Damn I can't wait for this flick!

I've heard talk of tough times for the comic book industry for years and sadly it doesn't look like it's getting any better. Granted, Marvel and DC both endured some tough times in the past decade and came out okay, but it looks like the industry as a whole hasn't stopped suffering the setbacks of the market. I wonder if anime has had an impact upon the North American comic book market. One would think the popularity of anime-influenced comics, the increasing demand for manga, and the spin offs that comics produce based on anime titles would help add revenue to the comic book companies and vendors. On the flip side, perhaps anime DVDs and game consoles have stolen market share from comic books.
