  1. Yeah, but I'm hoping for embellishment. Width, height, weapon count, mecha count, that sort of thing. Whoohoo! VF-1A Valkyrie U.N. Headquarters Guard. I like it when the Chronicle picks up on those little details.
  2. I've been told that MW is a wretched hive of scum and villainy apparently threatening the destruction of the all human life and Tom Cruise. But just in case any plants are among us reporting our words for the Big Wigs of Big West, we love Macross. We like to have sexular relations with Macross. We are Macrossafarians, followers of the Hory Froating Head of Kawamori! Give us more Macross, precious...
  3. Are we allowed to chime in on this topic? Seriously though, isn't participation (good or bad) one of the trade offs of public hearings? Open forums and public discussion all sounds very nice and progressive, but people in groups have a really nasty tendency to wind themselves up into witch hunts. The advantage of the public forum is feedback from others, but the disadvantages are people will post crap that need not be posted. Public debates are also entertaining, so they will draw crowds. I hope your request does some good, but human nature is a tough nut to crack.
  4. The Strike Valkyire looks great Cyclone Trooper. Well done. Thanks so much for the schematics boinger. I was sure they existed
  5. Guess you'll have to wait for another zeitgeist-immersed mecha show. But what are the odds long time fans will even like it?
  6. We could get some more dimensions, masses and weapons. That's really all we need. But you're right of course, there really isn't much to say about them. I just like having something to fill in the profiles
  7. On Christmas eve! "How lewd" Super Dimension Planet Dance
  8. I've searched and it doesn't look like I have it. Sorry about that Cyclone. It's possible I was remembering wrong something I thought I had, but didn't. I've got so much Macross line art saved on my computer, sometimes it's hard to keep it all straight. But in searching I realized I forgot to give you the VT-1 Ostrich. Here they is
  9. You're welcome. I can't wait to see your next pictures. I might have the ELINT schematic, but I can't recall if it's the blank or the colored one. I'll check when I get home later today.
  10. They just can't show it, but you know Alto and Sheryl had their fun. Like Hikaru and Misa on Altira in DYRL? The only question would be, would Alto be infected by the V-Type virus during intimacy with Sheryl
  11. That has to be Britai's ship, the Nupetiet-Vergnitzs 5631 Fleet Command Battleship. Mardook Warhsips? Oh, oh! Can I threaten violence too? I'm really hoping they include some additional information for the Mardook warships. There's so little about them currently available. *crosses fingers*
  12. Anime is like film, is like music, is like literature, is like any consumer product. Product is produced for the sake of producing. Even when there isn't a story worth telling, we get a story anyway and it's sold to us as if it's something worth buying even when it's not. That is consumer culture, buying crap we don't need Which is, ironically, why I prefer Macross to most other mecha anime; Kawamori pretty much only produces a Macross show when he thinks he has a Macross story worth telling. Big West pimps Macross for all it's worth when they DO produce a show (like any business would), but the franchise is not some homogenized cash cow pumping out worthless fare regularly to sustain Big West's quarterlies. Fans can debate the worth of each Macross production, but the franchise creators at least try producing something distinct each time. So does anime insult my intelligence? Not because it's a consumer entertainment product mostly aimed at 10-20 year olds. Is most anime uninspiring and uninteresting to me? Sure. In fact, so is most everything. It's why I dislike pop music, don't watch television and others would describe me as a film snob (LOL!). It's part of living that one naturally becomes more particular as time goes on. If I had to read between the lines of your post, I'd say you're on the cusp of realizing that you must prioritize the disposable entertainment you purchase with your disposable income. This is a good thing, but keep in mind you don't have to disown anime entirely. There are many of us that watch all kinds of different entertainment and you might be surprised who you are among here at MW. There is a lot more sophisticated entertainment out there if you just look for it and expose yourself to it. For years I've been going on about the virtues of The Wire, quite possibly the best television series ever made. But MW typically isn't a community that's interested in the show and those of us that are sadly don't have a venue for discussing it here, so I only mention the series in passing. I'd say take a good look at what your needs are and venture outside your comfort zone a bit. I guarantee you'll be happy with what you'll find. But remember, you can enjoy some anime for what it is. Don't become angry and bitter at anime because you're too intelligent and mature for it. As an adult, Macross Frontier can be enjoyed every bit as much as The Incredibles. However, an adult cannot subsist on anime, sci-fi and action movies alone. For that matter, an adult cannot subsist upon disposable entertainment alone, no matter how intelligent and sophisticated. You might find it's time to vary your habits, perhaps some good advice we all could stand to consider in varying degrees
  13. You're welcome. I think the re-designed hands were a long time in coming. The old hands have that "super-robot" feeling to them, that wasn't particularly creative. But you might be right in that the improved animation really spurred such improvements forward. Woohoo! PM sent
  14. Damn, you're such an a-hole, SchizophrenicMC Btw, are you currently seeing anyone? I got a thing for abusive men pondo I've attached a picture of the redesigned hands for the VF-1 Valkyrie from the DYRL? film. There is a VF-1J in DYRL? which is seen briefly firing missiles from the GBP-1S Armored pack.
  15. Weird. Never had any trouble following the action in any Macross production. But now that I think about it, that's kinda strange. I mean, in Macross (and much of anime) the directors and animators are always using weird, unconventional camera angles and compositions to stylistically visualize the action. Often they used angles that, until the era of CGI, were not possible with live action. Yet I've never had any trouble following what's going on. Maybe I've been programmed by anime since childhood
  16. Your animation is going to be amazing. I like the storyboards. Keep up the good work.
  17. Fantastic compilation. A true tribute to a real visionary. Thanks for posting this.
  18. It looks fantastic. Interesting story behind it too. Nice work. I'll try to get you some more schematics soon. You might want to bug Talos as well, since he's got a bunch of good ones, including his own drawings.
  19. Mr March

    VF/X-36

So damn cool. Absolutely loving it
  20. I've got these handy right now. I can get you some more later.
  21. I'm feeling kinda swampy today I know technically "semi-submersible" means more than boat, but for all intents and purposes the ship remains above water, as I understand the term. The Prometheus might submerge more of it's hull under the water than any regular aircraft carrier, but it's not completely submerging nor operating like a full submarine. Joker: What plane was Isamu flying? Millard: What difference does that make? Joker: Well, depending on the plane, he could be in one piece or several
  22. Where does it say the Prometheus is submersible? I've never read that. The class is designated as a semi-submersible, which no doubt refers to the fact that it floats like a boat on water. Having said that, one would have to assume that either the whole ship can be sealed or it was overhauled when it was attached to the SDF-1 Macross. Otherwise, how is the thing operating in space? Unless we assume that there is no environment upon the Prometheus and everyone operating on board must be in a space suit This sounds like an odd conclusion, especially given the amazing durability and resilience of any valkyrie. No modern fighter would survive intact if it crashed into a city, through a bridge, or into the ground at high speeds, something the valkyries have survived from AND again achieved flight afterward.
  23. Much like the YF-19's forward wing root guns seen for only a brief 2-3 second sequence in Macross Plus, the VF-25S APS-25A/MF25 Armored Messiah's beam cannons are seen in use for only a few seconds as the valkyrie is flying in fighter mode. I can't recall the episode in which the beam cannons are shown firing, but they are seen, however briefly.
