Max got NO LOVE!

@505thAirborne I am loving that build! It looks like a DX! But without the stupid exploding waist! 🤣 Over here I needed something small and properly engineered to build over a weekend to get the bad taste out of my mouth over the past two years of old kits that don't fit together well..... before I jump back into the Titanic...which was designed in the 70s...LOL

QRau is finished. Whatever. I know these old 80s kits are what they are, but I still hate them! There, I said it. However, it is my all time favorite Zentradi mecha! Decals almost all went down good. I lost two, not bad for over 30 year old. Again, whatever, it's as finished as it's going to be. No, I didn't weather it because I'm lazy and it's gonna go with my HM-Rs so it'll look like them. I will be the first one in line to buy a new HM-R QRau! This kit is terrible. Avoid it all costs unless you like pain and suffering. Yes, I originally put the thigh assemblies in the wrong leg like 2 years ago and didn't notice until yesterday, so the legs are not right. Again whatever! Movin on.

I think it looks great!!! I LOVE the weathering and panel lining! Looks like a ship that's been in lots of battles, which it was! Outstanding work. I hope to see more of your work here!

Mrs QRau is now painted. GAAWWD I had forgotten what a royal PITA these old Macross kits are to paint! I'm hoping that some creative weathering, detailing and the kit decals cover up most of my mistakes... IF they come off the 30 some odd year old decal paper... Hopefully will get this finished up this weekend... Bodolza willing...

@Special Sauce -- what he said! DO IT! That was my exact experience as well with the GX-71. -
It's the old model kit from the 80's. The OG QRau!

If anyone is interested and has some spare cash burning a hole in your pocket, there is a really good sale on a LOT of ships on the Eaglemoss website. Oddball enemy TNG ships for like $15 bucks each and almost ALL STD ships along with some others. On Saturday, I got a pretty sizable order of things I wanted but didn't want to pay full price for. Got 25% off the entire order on top of the sales prices of the ships AND free shipping! I'll post pics when they all show up. FYI they said there might be a shipping delay because of volume of orders coming in.

Christmas 86 was great! I thiiiink I got Galvatron/Rodimus Prime and maybe Ultra Magnus either for Bday or something. I also got Cyclonus and a Scourge at some point. That was about it, ohh I had Kup. My interest was fizzling out after about season 3 and 4 of G1. Once the headmasters thing started I was OUT. OHH!! Did you guys get the 3 little stop motion live/ animated funny's before the movie??? They were GREAT!- 17369 replies

@mikeszekely YES!!! I took my brother in law who is a few years older than I and HAD NEVER SEEN IT!!! He was a TFer's fan as a kid, but I guessed missed out somehow! He loved it! I will say as a sound and techy guy (it's what I do for a living), the film image looked great on a big screen, but the theater we went to only had the 2.0 Stereo sound track going. BOOOoooo!!!!! My Blu-Ray has a great 5.1 mix, I don't know why they didn't have the surround system going, I have a feeling it was just some teenager running it on a Sunday that didn't know or care. Still, good times! About 20 people in the theater. Took me back to summer of 86!- 17369 replies

That was AWESOME! -
Anyone else having an issue getting the pilot seat to lock in behind the head with the head tilted foward? My 1D one pops right in, but this one just won't...Am I missing something?
-
Great job! I've still got my two originals in my Mospeada display case! They killed a lot of Invids when I was a kid!
-
Armor Parts ON! This is the first time I've EVER been happy with the color of these! Good job Bandai!!!
-
Holy FAST shipping Batman!, DHL says my armor parts from Anime Export will be here today! That's TWO days!
-
Half my house is bursting with dope ass toys, the other half, my wife's antiques...who's gonna win when the two sides actually meet in the middle of the house somewhere at some future point in time??? Don't know...or perhaps a singularity will just form in the center of the house.... I think what we can ALL agree on here is that now that we have the 1J with Armor in DX form, what we REALLY need from Bandai is an IN SCALE enemy Recon unit to go along with it! I mean who here wouldn't buy that???!!!
-
@MechTech wow! Thanks for the heads up! I really endeavor to keep my tools for a long time, so I will definitively bleed the air out completely after each use! I normally only have time to paint on the weekends anyway.
-
Paid about $43 "Fast Shipping" (Slow Shipping was exactly the same price) from Anime Export for my Armor Parts. They shipped via DHL this morning and I got the text from DHL shortly after with the waive signature option and leave package on porch option which I LOVE. Let's see how long until it's on my doorstep!

@007-vf1 Great little kits you have there! I built the Recon Pod years ago. Still one of my favorite designs! I know I've said this a million times before, but oh man do I wish Bandai would make new Macross Molds of all the old SDF ships and mecha utilizing the techniques they honed doing all the Star Wars and Gundam kits. How much of a dream come true would that be for all of us old and new fans?! Come on Bandai!!! DO IT!
