    I'll probably have to read Red Storm Rising again as a tribute. Rainbow Six, that was just plain terrible. Everybody has a clunker or two though.

    No need to get upset about a remake of Scarface, since the one everyone is holding up as the original IS a remake to begin with. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0023427/ I've never personally seen the original and it is hard to beat "Say hello to my little friend"

    Yup, in a universe where that goofy aircraft carrier exists worrying about a bad flying car design is a waste of time.

    Best visuals in a movie is either Nausica or Akira. DYRL is up there though. EOE I don't remember, but I am fairly certain I saw it (I think I watched all the Evangelion work at any rate).

    MS does not stay in business by NOT selling things. Tablets ARE selling, and quite well, if MS does not find a way to get a sizeable chunk of the tablet business they are going to be in big trouble. At work we are in the middle of a PC replacement cycle right now, old machines are NOT capable enough any longer.

    I see those Surface tablets just zooming out the stores too - while windows pc sales are slumped - at best...

    I'm an MS guy BUT, the competition started years ago. The Android OS will eventually be the death of MS windows.

    Half Life 3? They still have to finish that last addon adventure for Half Life 2...

    The old robocop moved the way he did since he was a robot, at first. The new one, since he is still "Murphy" underneath the suit does not have a reason to act robotic.

    It's a buddy cop show using an android instead of "Sam Francisco". that said it has potential if they treat it as MORE then just a buddy cop show in 2048.

    I didn't pay a whole lot of attention but it appears that this time Murphy keeps most of his body, so a guy in a suit is - in fact - just what he is.

    The Ring Cycle makes sense as an opera with fantasy overtones - as a Harlock series it was just bad. If the other Harlock show is the one with the space zombie/life sucking thingies then that is the one I was thinking of.

    Harlock is an uneven franchise, "My Youth in Arcadia" being some of the best animation I've ever seen, but the thing based on an Opera was downright dreadful, and Harlock Saga wasn't that great either. I still have hope for this one.

    Yup - and the only other time they explain why the big E has to go and no one else can is Star Trek 5, at least among all its other faults they can say they took care of that problem.

    Well, if we are bringing up bad music from the eighties then I like Culture Club from its heyday. I also loved it when Beavus and Butthead commented on the "Karma Chameleon" video though. (speaking of guilty pleasures, B&B are great! - well the originals were, the recent ones were nothing special)

    I'm hoping they get to do some more movies "Bender's Game" is one of their best efforts ever. As an old RPG fan that might have something to do wtih my love of that one though.

    It is very bad, Serenity had a similar budget, grossed 10 million its opening weekend and went on to about double that. I heard that Riddick had a $38 million budget so if the final figure ends up doubling it will gross just about as much as it was budgeted. Which is not good news even with DVD sales and rentals later.

    Short answer - yes they are. Maybe if we were not talking Harmony Gold it would be different.

    On their own site, it was mentioned that it was LLA with some extra footage added. Granted, one would have to know the original LLA was a music video/clip show - but a quick search could have turned up that info. As for believing the hype, rule #1 in life is to NEVER EVER take marketing buzz as truth. (or maybe I'm just old)

    How can a fan NOT KNOW it was a clip show to begin with? I've decided to pass on this one - if it had come with the original LLA that would have been different.

    I'd have to disagree, the new episodes have been disappointing for the most part - not terrible but not up to the old standards either. Then again, I have not watched the Simpsons for over a decade now.

    Not sure I like the switch from "a man getting back his humanity after being turned into a machine" a "man getting back his free will from 'the system'". Sign of the times I suppose. The movie does look better then I thought it would though.

    He did Children of Men? Ugh. (sorry, both the book and the movie had nothing useful to say - which is a problem since both were trying desperately to say something). I see we still have no idea of what 90%+ of the movie is about. Sorta like seeing a trailer for "Million Dollar Baby" that consisted of boxing...
