  1. I'm sure we will eventually get a new Macross TV series, or at least an OVA or movie. If not for the 25th anniversery, then perhaps for the 30th. While Kawamori should of course still be retained as the primary mecha designer on any new projects (nobody else can design VFs like he can), I agree with others here that perhaps Big West should get somebody else to write and direct the story and avoid any mystical or tree-hugging elements that Kawamori seems so fond of now. Oh and I have no plans of hiding away or selling my Macross toys, even though I'm now closer to 40 than I am to 30. Graham
  2. I've always liked the look of the Legioss (although not as much as the VF-1) and Shinji Aramaki, the designer of the Legioss is my second favorite mecha designer after Kawamori. However, it's clear that Aramaki designs his mecha to look cool, without thinking too much of the real-world practicality or workability of the design, unlike Kawamori. My major issue with the Legioss is that it has no method of pitch control in Armo-fighter mode for atmospheric flight. Although neither the VF-1 or the Legioss have any horizontal tail surfaces or elevators, the VF-1's thrust vectoring feet move up and down to provide pitch control. However, the Legioss's feet can only move side to side and thus cannot provide any pitch control. IIRC, we once had a discussion in another thread about whether the Legioss would fly in an atmosphere and the consensus was that it would not (David Hingtgen or other knowledgable MW aviation experts, please feel free to step in and correct me if I am wrong). Other issues I have with the Legioss are: - 1) In Armo-fighter mode, the boxy shoulder missile launchers are very unaerodynamic and would probably create lots of buffeting and limit maximum speed in atmosphere to sub-sonic. 2) While the Legioss carries lots of micro-missiles, they are all short-range only. Lack of any medium or long range weapons is a major disadvantage. 3) While the curved gunpod magazine may look cool, it's a impractical as far as carriage of the weapon in fighter mode. The magazine actually just is a battery pack and does not hold cannon shells, so there is no reason to make it curved and have it sticking out at 90º to the gunpod body. Heck, on the toynami MPC you have to remove the magazine to attach the gunpod to the wing in fighter mode! 4) having the wings folding down in Armo-Diver mode provides less lift. Graham
  3. Cough........Gundam.........cough! Graham
  4. Nah, it says the 1/60 VF-0S is so tough it eats the 1/48s for breakfast.... :D Graham
  5. The VF-0S toy looks awesome. Blows the VF-1 away in apperance IMO. Graham
  6. It's not loose, it's open for maintenance! Graham
  7. Yay.....Sailor Moon Gundam! G-Gundam.......the show that caused me to loose all respect for the Gundam franchise. Graham
  8. Looks like the back plate is not locked into place also. Graham
  9. WIPE it good Good advice...........never skimp on personal hygiene. Graham
  10. Call me a dinosaur, but I'm dead set against ebooks. I prefer the feel of a real paper book in my hands. Graham
  11. I'm with JsARCLIGHT on this, I have no interest on watching movies on the tiny screen of a portable platform. Call me old fashioned, but If I'm away from home and have time to kill, I'd much rather read a good book. Graham
  12. That is the credit card exclusive Valk. The Stealth Valk WILL be a different color scheme. Graham
  13. Although I like the Legioss design, I've never really been a fan of the Tread. I'd still probably buy one (either a blue or green), as long as it was not too expensive and had no major QC issues or design faults. Graham
  14. Arghhhhh.......NOooooooooo! Colin Farrell is the new Ben Affleck as far as I'm concerned and should be banned from making movies. Graham
  15. My sources tell me that the new Low-Vis will NOT be the same color as the old Low-Vis. No further info available at this time. Graham
  16. As Gibson is getting a bit old for action movies and as somebody already mentioned, a bit off his rocker recently, perhaps it's time for somebody else to fill his shoes as Max. Hey, I know, let's make the 4th movie a comedy buddy movie starring Adam Sandler and Chis Rock......heh, heh, heh. And yes I was joking in case anybody actually thinks that was a serious suggestion. Graham
  17. Um didn't you like notice that absolutely nobody else here has a pic in their sig? That's what we call a clue! Graham
  18. Done. The two members who did that, please don't do it again, it's really pointless to quote pics that are directly in the post above or even on the same page. Graham

    1/48 Vf-1d Custom

Fantastic. I'm planning a large update to the MW custom toy gallery next week (at long last) and I'd like to add this if you don't mind. Graham
  20. For the one millionth time, there is no 1/48 VF-0! Graham
  21. You are forgetting: - VF-0D normal color (grey & white) VF-0B Space Proving Wing color (Hasegawa kit only, not in the OVA). I actually prefer the normal grey VF-0D to Shin's blue version. I have my Hasegawa VF-0D painted that way. Why did you write VF-0A Nora Fodder? Nora doesn't fly a VF-0A. Don't you mean Cannon Fodder? Graham
  22. Guys, I've got some more information on the 1/60 VF-0S from a very reliable source: - Some of this info we know already, but some is new. 1) Leg superparts are magnet attached to avoid ugly hole on the lower leg. (We know this already) 2) Rear landing gear has a lock function to prevent the gear from collapsing. 3) The rear landing gear shafts actually spread out when you open and lock the landing gear, just like on a real plane. 4) Sliding function added on the chest piece so that battroid torso looks shorter. 5) Cockpit seat can rotate. (we know this already). 6) Nose pitot tube is designed to be detachable, so that it will not be damaged during transformation. Graham
  23. ............and bomb and strafe them! Graham
  24. Yes, the rotating seat gimmick is confirmed. Graham
