  1. That is a really bad squashed up pic. Looks like it's been photoshopped to make it all squashed looking. Real thing looks 10x better. Graham
  2. Looking mighty purty. Put me down for two. Graham
  3. Looking good. It's reasuring to see necks on both the VF-25G and RVF-25. I'm still concerned whether the VF-25G's gunpod will have any ground clearance in fighter mode, due to the short landing gear. Hope to see the plethora of whiote markings on the Super packs tampo porinted on the production versions. Graham
  4. Actually, overall it is pretty sturdy for a kit. This is one of the very few problem areas. Graham
  5. Not sure how accurate this is, but I thought it was an interesting article. Read: Blu-ray is dead! I recently bought a 1080p HDTV, but I still have no interest in Blu-ray. Still happy with my DVDs. Graham
  6. Mine doesn't, include those and it did show as downloading 100% with no errors. Graham
  7. This is sci fi. There's all sorts of explanations as to Sheryl change of hair color - nanotech, holgram, mini fiberoptics implanted in her hair, etc, etc. Graham
  8. Anybody know how to get the Thora 01 to play? Downloaded it and it's just a bunch of .ttf, .otf and one .ass file. Can't get it to play using either VLC or Media Player Classic. Thora 02 to 07 are all .MKV and play fine for me using CCCP & Media Player Classic. Graham
  9. Pass. crappy movie IMO. Graham
  10. Yay, after 22 hours playing the M7 missions, I finally tuned up all but the sound force mecha to the limit, got an S rank on all the missions and my first ever SS on the Ex mission with Max doing the canyon run in his VF-22 (this had been giving me a lot of trouble). On to the Macross Plus missions at last. Graham
  11. Well, after a dozen transformations, the left front landing gear door will no longer stay on in battroid mode. The nubs that hold it on have worn away, so the slightest touch, as in when transforming to battroid mode causes it to fall off. In he closed position, the door will still stay on. Graham
  12. Why would a VF pilot be stupid enough to fly right in front of a Gundam at point blank range and stand still while the Gundam hit him with his beam sabre. VFs are all about superior speed, mobility, range and firepower. Graham
  13. The MSRP is about what was previously rumored and seems acceptable to me, as long the toy locks together well, doesn't suffer from lose joint syndrome and is nicely finished. Oh and should be mostly of ABS construction. I will pass if it is the same PVC dog poo material as the EMSIA and GFF. Can't stand that rubbery crap. That price is only slightly higher than the model kit. Graham
  14. I wouldn't worry too much about the paint chipping. What is shown in the photos is obviously a completely hand painted sample, not a production version, where the main color (grey for VF-25S and white for the VF-25F), will be molded in the correct color plastic. The ony place on this toy that I'm am concerned about paint chipping is possibly on the diecast intakes. Paint scraping of the black and red (Alto) and black and yellow (Ozma) trim could also be a concern during transformation, but we will just have to wait and see. Graham
  15. Bah, the series is better than every single Gundam anime put together IMO (despite being a virtual Gundam clone). Down with Gundam! Up with Dragonar! Graham
  16. Can you actually drink out of these, or am I thinking of the wrong sort of mug? If you can drink out of them, they might be cool, but otherwise, they look like toys for toddlers IMO. Graham
  17. Actually, not sure who changed the thread title, it certainly didn't have the word 'complain' in it when I orginally started the thread. Graham
  18. My son love the Clone Wars cartoon and thinks the Clone Troopers are much, much cooler than Jedi (as do I). And Black Valkyrie, your sig is back to front. Don't ya' know it should read "A Gundam is no match for a VF". Graham
  19. Reviewing some of the older photos and I find it encouraging that in some of them the Ozma VF-25S does appear to have the head extended. Graham
  20. Still wondering if it will get a theatrical release or will go straight to DVD? Guess we can only wait to find out. I can't believe that with the popularity of the show and the success of the CDs, DVDs/BluRay Disks, moodel kits etc that a second series is not in the works. Graham
  21. Probably gonna pick up a Republic Gunship and a buncha Clone troopers for my 4 1/2 year old for Christmas, as he is really into Clone Troopers at the moment. Graham
  22. I’m curious as to what is Bandai’s intended demographic for the 1/60 DX? You would think that with a ¥12,000 retail price point (on the medium-end for collectables), it’s not pre-teen kids and probably not high school kids either. Also, with Frontier airing late at night, it’s never likely that kids were the intended market anyway. So, IMO it’s likely that either adult Macross/Macross Frontier fans with disposable income, or adult mecha toy collectors who like the VF-25 and have disposable income are Bandai’s target. I’m really curious to know what Macross fans and toy collectors are saying on Japanese boards and whether their comments mirror ours? Or is their opinion of the DX overwhelmingly positive Graham
  23. Bandai are offering the 1/60 DX VF-25F and VF-25S for 12,000 Yen, which is 4,800 Yen cheaper than the similar size Yamato VF-0 and 6,800 Yen cheaper than the similar size Yamato 1/60 YF-19. This is great for consumers in these troubled economic times. I remember many people rejoiced when the cost of the VF-25 was announced. However, obviously, the cheaper price means some corners have been cut and we are not getting quite the same level of features, accuracy and gimmicks as we have been used to from Yamato. I think many of us need to move on and learn to accept this. I guess at the lower price point, it's unreasonable to expect as many feature and gimmicks compared with the Yamato offerings. This cheaper price point is obviously why we are not getting things such as translucent nose sensors or nose verniors made of separate pieces of plastic, which are par for the course for Yamato. Instead on the Bandai they are just engraved on. The cheaper price is probably also the reason for things like the cheap looking landing gear and the incorrect 'one-type-fits all' chest plates, instead on the individually sculpted chest plates. On the plus side, according to the Japanese press, we will be getting a higher level of durability. And from the pics so far, it does seem like Bandai have included all the panel lines from the line art, which is a good thing. I do still hold though that the designers could easily have made a more anime accurate looking toy, without increasing cost and probably without sacrificing durability. It does seem that the chunkiness and downward droopiness of the nose was a deliberate design choice, rather than a necessity. Anyway, while I'll probably never love the toy, I am trying had to learn to at least like it based on the latest GA Graphics photos. Not a hater, was just expecting better from Bandai. Graham
  24. Actually both my Garland's metal swing bars broke on the first transformation. Real poor casting on the zinc. Didn't mention them, as I assumed this thread was about Macross toys only. Graham
  25. Another difference is that Ozma's chest plate also has two small blisters on the top rear edge that line up with corresponding blisters on the top of the head. Again, the model kit got this right, the toy does not. Graham
