Mr. March, I'd say Trigun is one of those slow animes with a boring concept that eventually becomes very invovling by revealing the true nature of the story, the character, his relationship to the world they are living on, etc. and becomes great. But I can't stand GITS.

Equilibrium made it because it wasn't about the action. It was actually about imagery and content and emotion in an imaginable and purposeful dystopian world. It made it because of Bale also. Aeon Flux and probably Ultra Violent will go back to fancy looking "music-video" type future world with no real purpose except to look shiny - - - and heroine with no real purpose except to look shiny as well.

So why hasn't anyone used light sabers in on mode instead of interior lighting? If you unscrew the back a bit, the sound turns off, so I figure if you can hook it up to a powersupply, you could probably use sabers on 24/7. Hell, the LEDs consume less power than all the other lights in the house.

The Mission Impossible movies were all messed because it was just "James Bond" done with Tom Cruise. None of these were in the spirit of the original show which was basically a government funded close-knit team of con-artists pulling off elaborate schemes with the intelligence of Sherlock Holmes and 100x the technical gusto and improv of the A-Team and Macguyver.

Ford still needs to give the Mustang a real chassis and a differential that wasn't decades old. The Viper needs a better suspension too. American cars have a well deserved reputation for being fast in a straight line and rubbish elsewhere because of cheap 70s engineering like solid back diffs and leafsprings. I suppose this is what American Automakers must do to keep costs down and stay in business but it's not helping their image for those in the know. Then again, people who love muscle cars wouldn't have it any other way.

I don't know about you guys but a lot of the joy of Lego is gone after I grew up and nolonger have the fun imagination of a child who could truely create a universe and live vicariously through the toys. I loved creating Lego playsets and having fully thought-out characters and plots and events happening. I'd build myself intricate models with huge interiors for my characters with all sorts of features, and I could do it forever. Then I grew up. Now the only pleasure in Lego is building and creating something and then posing it on the shelf. I can't really play or interact with my toys anymore, they just become decoration when finished, much like regular toys.

Of course, how can you take B-actors over Patrick Stewart and Sting??? And the mini-series was so chock-full of CG, it hurt my eyes. Sorry, but I'm a traditionalist and I'd rather have classic special effects, miniatures, rotoscoping, animated light, matte paintings, etc. than CG. I can't stand that stuff, even in modern anime. So in the "alternate" ending - is it different from the rain ending?

I'm just mightily disappointed they didn't run it on the test track. This was the most boring race across Europe episode they've done yet. You always know Jeremy will win, but nothing cool happened. He just drove and it was utterly boring. Why didn't they just give it to the Stig to run it around the track.
