1. It's an automatic,...
2. And that's why I don't see your line of reasoning making sense. It's a movie prop. It's art. It's actual way of functioning is as much fiction as the movie so how can it not hold up to scrutiny? You can't hold up the mechanical engineering and design of movie props to to that of real firearms. They could work in a completely different way that's up to the imagination. It's a movie prop, it was never intended to be a working, activated weapon and so can't be judged by the same standards. I just know what I see on screen and when Deckard fires at Batty, the flash, impact, and smoke from the shot was considerably more than the other times he had fired in the film. I can perfectly well imagine that the breach and bolt on top had some other completely different action. Maybe it's for loading some kind of explosive tip that drops down into the actual barrel below and sliding the bolt forward seals the chamber. Maybe it's a a fancy way of loading batteries for whatever electronics the LEDs are supposed to represent. Maybe it's a cigarette lighter. Maybe it's a can opener. Whatever!
3. Practically every toy made from from 1983-1989. By the time my parents decided to give me enough money to buy toys, it was already 1990 and those toys weren't available anymore and I could only gaze at the few catalogues I had and hunt garage sales and thrift stores.
4. Agreed, there is a kind of super high calibur explosive round that is shot in the film. I never imagined the bolt pushed it out, but rather it slid into it. I always thought the shot Leon fires in the first Voight Kamph scene that knocks Holden's body right through the wall behind him was something like the explosive shot Deckard fires at Batty which creates quite an explosion on the far wall.
5. They were trying to get around the transformer club logo that you can cleverly see on the roof and the hood in both modes.
6. Well arguably in the Director's Cut, Deckard is also a replicant (that's why there is a Unicorn in his dreams and Gaff knows what Deckard dreams about since they are implanted). I don't think being a replicant takes anything away from him. I think he retired originally because he hated it already (the shakes, the drinking, everything), but he has no choice. The thing that bugs me most about the finished movie though, is the scene where the Dove is let into the air. I mean, that clip looks like it's out of some kids highschool video where he films an aluminum sided warehouse to make it look like a science fiction movie. It's obviously not the same locale as the Bradbury shoot and it's obviously it was filmed in daylight and they color adjusted the film to make it look like night. They just need to reshoot that shot for the new edition. Did anybody notice the big TDK sign on the roof? What's with TDK signs on roofs that science fiction movies have showdowns on? In Highlander Endgame, there was a giant red TDK sign as well on the roof when Duncan fights Connor. Somebocy complained though and had it removed in the DVD but it's the workprint cut.
7. I just saw the original cut a few minutes ago for the first time. You know, I liked the "happy" ending. Something about that Vangelis love theme playing over the aerial shots of the mountains that was breathtaking and surreal.
8. It's the Nissan Verita, and it's available in South East Asia. 402727 So it's a Taiwanese made car that liscenses branding from Nissan, made to look like a retro European car along with all that 1950s stuff on the exterior and interior?
9. No, she was a pretty nasty actress. I wish she was removed from the movie entirely to save me the pain of seeing her rotten goods. That said, I really wish they would come out with a new Blade Runner game, or an update of the original with better graphics. That thing is phenomenal...perfectly captured the Blade Runner vibe with multiple branches and endings and random things happening...and action and puzzle work. It was great. There's a Blade Runner 1080i release that's on the internet. It's something like 16GB. I don't see how any DVD release could compare to that unless it was two DVD-9s completely packed.
10. Umm, so basically don't buy the Director's Cut in September but wait until the set in 2007 with all 3 versions? Personally, I like the voiceovers and Harrison Ford hamming it up film noir style.
11. Just made this, think the classic colors would be amazing.
12. Toyota Sera Name this car. 402448 Damn, you beat me to the Sera by just a few seconds! Actually, it's a funny thing because I saw a Sera parked on the street on the way to school the other day and I'm in Canada! I guess somebody imported one from Japan. I have no idea what the car you posted is. Looks like a Hindustan Ambassador or some other 2nd world country car.
13. That's a: Veilside "Fortune" wide-body Mazda RX-7 FD3S Who am I?
14. No, I don't know where you got that idea. Mao is just being Mao, playful and naughty but deadly in combat and when she's beating up Kurz for hitting on her.
15. This whole episode should be re-titled "A Day of Molesting and Exposing Tessa Testarossa in the Name of Fanservice" http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/617/tessa2qg.gif I can't believe I just made this
16. I'm not getting any connections. This torrent looks like it's from China. Is it raw? (unsubbed)?
17. I don't know it's just me but I always thought linked chains were dumb for ghost rider. If anything he should be whipping motorcycle chains around.
18. Cool. International trailer is better. Notice how the US trailer cuts out the "made a deal with the devil" and replaces it with the softer: "years ago he made a deal to save someone he loved".
19. It's a demonic skull, not a realistic skull.
20. Okay, a lot of forums have caption threads and digging around, I found this one I made in 1999 or something (wow, it's been almost 8 years, that's frightening). Make your own captioned pics!
21. Sigh, he doesn't have real feet. There should be a feature to allow you to raise his knee caps/guards higher up so it elongates the lower part of his legs and reduces the thighs like in typical TFs. As of right now, the entire leg section under the hips is about the same length as the arms which is wrong.
