  1. I could very well be wrong, but along with the Daedalus carrier with its simplistic toy-car wheel arrangement, it's possible the thought was to have a toy Macross launching a spring loaded missile.
  2. That actually looks like a missile and it's launch rail. A frickin big missile!
  3. For my battlecruiser Akagi, the main decks are down, Some PE was added, as well as the barrels done, And started on the PE for the superstructure, And, since I didn't have enough on the work 'bench,' the tri-deck Akagi has also been started! Like the battlecruiser, it is a Hasegawa upper hull mated to a Fujimi bottom, which required far more work than the battlecruiser to get them to fit! Shims were needed for both the bow and stern, with the Fujimi bottom needing to be nipped and tucked at the rear. Right now, I'm currently bogged down in refining the armor belts near the bow, adding thin stryene cut to the needed shapes and being blended in. And being blended in. And being blended in. And... But I believe I am getting ahead of it now! Thom
  4. Nice @pengbuzz He's looking primed for action!
  5. It's a valuable ability, as long as the enemy does not know you can do it. Starfleet was sure that their detection systems were working and in twenty years some complacency had creaped in. Then comes Vadic and her handler. Yes, her and the other Changelings abilities come with more weaknesses, but if they could pull off their plan against the Federation without anyone knowing about it, then those weaknesses would not matter. It is all about secrecy, because once someone knows about it, the jig is (almost) up. In the case of the show, Picard and Co are coming into it very late when Starfleet has been deeply penetrated, so the Changelings new advantage has been working for them. But if we really want to pick at something... We know that Jack is somehow essential to their plan. So, why didn't they get him first..? Frontier Day is only hours away, but this apparent lynch pin has been left until the very last. They could have caught him a year earlier, giving them plenty of time to work him before they finally moved against the Federation.
  6. In a world where all dreams come true, this would be the way they write 7 thru 9 out of existance...
  7. Vadic just took the face of the 'doctor' who was experimenting on them, as a way to never forget and as a way, I think, to show how much of a monster she was by putting her face on Vadic's actions. And I think I recall Vadic saying she was able to show others how to do it as well, that being mimicking Solids so well as to pass the checks put in place after the Dominion War. Though, if that is the case, are they truly changed at all biologically? Cause I though the 'doctor' had done something to them to alter their DNA.
  8. All of that sounds great! And I am being only slightly sarcastic.
  9. Yuuzhan Vong.. Though I wouldn't mind a resurgent Sith Order rising from the ash heap left over by Palpatine.
  10. When it comes to Likes or Dislikes on 'social media,' I'd take it with a huge grain of salt.😉
  11. @derex3592 Welcome USS Virginia!!
  12. Well that was a good one too. We had some nice dramatic scenes with Vadic holding the bridge crew hostage, some more insight into what's happening with Jack, and some great Data/Lore scenes, arguably the highlight of the episode. And listening to them talking was like stepping back into TNG. Only with them a lot older! Though to one or two of @Seto Kaiba points, when Riker, Work and Deaana are on the Shrike, it's made clear that most of Vadic's crew were part of the boarding party. It doesn't look like she had a large crew to begin with and left only a few on her own ship. In fact, I would say that if Ro had not transferred so many of Titan's crew off to the Lexington, the boarding would have been a lot tougher for Vadic, and maybe even impossible. The other point, the Changelings being easily 'stabable,' could be put down to them being more solid than fluid while in their human guises. Despite the ability it gives them to once again mimic and hide behind another person's identity, I think the drawback is that they can suffer damage that a normal Changeling would have been able to shrug off. That's why Worf was going along vaporizing them, to keep them from healing and getting back up like Vadic's second officer was able to do. Or that's how I'm seeing it anyway.
  13. @Roy Focker They were half a galaxy away.😀 IMO, it doesn't matter to me much if they bring in new characters that weren't seen in the original trilogy. The galaxy is vast, the Rebellion was being fought on many fronts, and it is set about twenty years since the Return of the Jedi. Plenty of time, distance and circumstance to excuse why we've never seen them before. I'm looking forward to Ahsoka. Just as long as it is more Mandalorian than Boba!
  14. Well, I don't hate her. She's a good character, nicely portrayed by Ridley, who unfortunately was not served with the best script or director. I'd check her out in another outing. Episode 7 was alright as the start of a new trilogy. As you say, a bit too derivative and being a redo of Ep 4, but it laid the groundwork for what could have been a good trilogy. They also should have ended it before they found Luke and the ending just petered out. As for the middle movie, I look at it as just highlights and not a real story in and of itself. That's the problem you get when you don't have the whole trilogy mapped out and the directors/writers are not in agreement about what is going to happen and how they are going to get there. They just told Johnson to do whatever he wanted - and he pulled a 180. Which left the third movie needing a massive rewrite with the Emperor tagged-in just before the buzzer. Rather than having the middle movie set up the third act, they literally did that in the pre-crawl! And, of course it was all put back in JJ Binks' hands. Not the smartest move. That all being said, the only part I really didn't like about TRoS was Rey choosing to go by Skywalker. Imagine if the title had been The Rise of Palpatine..? People would have been, 'what the heck does that mean!?' They already knew the Emperor was going to be in it, so that would not have been a surprise, and most everyone was assuming Rey was Luke's or Leia's daughter. It would have put a better emphasis on the twist with her being Palpy's granddaughter. At the end, she should have owned the name rather than deciding to take on another. That would have been a lot more impactful.
  15. I think it's a new Bandai kit...
  16. According to the notes, this entire S-class sub was (except for the deck gun) scratch built! Is it me, or with a little more 'flare' could this look like Verne's Nautilus?!
  17. My Titan model showed up today! A little ding on the box, but otherwise A-OK. Nice detail and surface, and anice size too. It is set at 1/1400, but it looks good beside the Excelsior! Thom
  18. I went to the model show in Buffalo on Sunday, Bufcon. Good show, lots of people, lots of models - and lots of pics! Sorry, they are a little out of order. For some reason, Imgur can't keep them in order so some pay be mixed up... https://imgur.com/a/fglFwpm
  19. I liked this one a lot. No, it's not masterpiece theater, but it is a fun, adventurous romp that had me from beginning to end. The characters and their interactions were very well done, with nice humor. This more than washed away the stain of 2000's D&D movie! And the Warcraft one... Bring on more!
  20. Indeed, I love that 0/14 bash!
  21. @Urashiman That is a nice rendering. Looking sweet! @derex3592 Another thing you could try is steel wool. Pull it apart some and flatten it out. But I've got to try those PE spray filters too, they look very easy to use and spending far less time. I bought some MM colors but still haven't used them yet. Would like a good paint that goes easy through an airbrush. @electric indigo That is a great looking Hornet. At the speed it's going, you'll never see any 'imperfections.'😉 @arbit That's nice improvement on the uniform. Got the creases/folds and even some more chest definition.
