  1. I think it would be good to divorce oneself of the notion that this is tightly akin to the anime. It has a 'based on' feel, wherein they more than likely used aspects within their own interpretation. Not saying that is a bad thing. But it will more than likely be its own thing.
  2. They were the only ones I really looked at back in 'the day.' But only for movies that I was interested in...
  3. I could see them trying to introduce a younger team of GBs but still focusing on the original remaining actors. But it will be different. There have been too many years in between for it not to be, but that's not important. What is, is the feel of the movie. That buddy/buddy/buddy/buddy feeling, where you can tell they care for each other but rip on each other intelligently and in ways that showcase and progress their personal relationships. If they can do that again, then I don't cariof the main plot is overly complex or incredibly simple, just as long as it holds water.
  4. What are these 'reviews' that people keep talking about? I keep hearing about these mythical opinionated founts but have never read/seen them myself. I think I'm happier for it!
  5. Good to know, thanks. I'll need to keep an eye out. The Yamato-fast has gone too long...
  6. I won't even watch that before seeing the other episodes. Anyone have an idea when they will be available for viewing?
  7. He was good. I like him a lot, esp as the Bats. Until he had the suit, Bale was in that spot and before Bale was Keaton (who is still above Bale and Affleck in my book.) But Affleck is getting up there and would best be playing an older mentor Bats to a younger protege. Plus I think the character needs someone who is dedicated to the role. I would rather they did not reboot the character though, or even just slip a new actor into the suit. Have an actual transitioning. Use The Batman (or whatever title it's going to have) as a vehicle to pass the torch to a new Caped Crusader, starting with Affleck but ending with the new actor.
  8. Don't know whether to respond on this thread or the newer one. Oh well... If I had heard the news that Afleck was leaving the franchise before JL came out I would have been way bummed. But that was before the movie was a bummer, and I would now have no problem with DC rebooting the entire thing (except for WW and now Aquaman.) Still, Afleck was a great Batman, but with all the baggage now of the limping DC-verse I think a fresh infusion of talent and a new take on the character could help out tremendously.
  9. 2016 Ghostbusters didn't work. That's no one else's fault but those behind the reboot. If she can't deal with that, then that's too fecking bad. Plus, as stated in the clip, their's was a freaking reboot anyway! People want the original. Here's about as much as I want to see of the '16 GB.
  10. Sorry. This was on the other night and I just had to do it. Bonus!
  11. I'll say, I wish this was Cameran's 'Avatar' rather than Avatar is his Avatar...
  12. Oh, FECK YEAH!! Although if that was just a 'test run' then it was already better than any of the trailers for the reboot! And I mention trailers because I haven't even seen that one yet. The atmosphere of it was just perfect and the music cues just gave me the good willies!
  13. I would love to see another, specially if Knight is behind the camera. But if I see Bay's name as director I wouldn't consider paying a cent to see it.
  14. Too much stuff happened on Earth in the past. There were too many tie ins with Earth history, and some of it conflicting as well. These movies lacked an overall arc to keep a sequel from stepping on the previous movie's 'toe.'
  15. Still damn cool! And people can finally see that she can smile!
  16. That's my dream! The choice to go so far from the source material was stupid.
  17. I didn't think I was going to see this one in the theaters, as I am not a big animation fan. But I went the other night and I loved it! What a fun ride. Plenty of action and humor all tied together with great character interactions. Turns out I had no problem with the animation style. This movie was great from beginning to end, and it seemed that at any moment whether there was action of no action, I was just glued to the screen. If they make another one, I'll be going to see it. I have to say that this is now my most favorite Spiderman movie. Sorry Maguire.
  18. Indeed! Very nice painting!
  19. That looks great. Love the addition of the fast packs. These look a lot better than the ones that are designed for it. And heck, you could fit a third right between the fins!
  20. That last one was the best so far, as it shows the story having more depth and 'history' in-universe. But no matter what the trailers are showing, either a 'lost girl' or 'girl meets boy' or 'death race' angle, so far I'm liking it all! I know this is not going to be a blockbuster though. I would be happily surprised if it was, but judging from GiTS with that being lead by a major Hollywood star and following along a similar arc, I just hope it's going to do well. And if I do like it, I will do my part to make it so by watching the hell out of it repeatedly!
  21. Sure, the 'crush' was more in Memo's part, but I didn't get any feel of 'romance' between Charlie and Bee, no matter what song was playing. I didn't even notice it. When I watch it again I'll listen closer. As for the 'touching sessions' I just took it as a mechanic checking out problems. Definitely ET though.
  22. I didn't get any romantic vibe at all between Bee and Charlie! Very much more than a friendship certainly than anything else. As for Memo(?) I thought he was good and there was where there was some cushing going on. Loved the part at the end when he starts to
