  1. Thanks for the link! Is the weight of the Super pack a back calculation from the accelerations and thrust ratings? Also, didn't the shoulder missile pod data have a breakdown of the types of missiles (3 different types, IIRC) totalling up to 15 missiles in each shoulder pod? Either way, the poorer than expected capabilities of the Super pack (initial 15 G acceleration, slower than the clean configuration) would explain why Alto jettisons his Super parts so often--- when maneuverability is more important than missiles, the Super parts are actually a drag (pun intended ) This also confirms that the Super parts are rocket powered (chemical propellant). Re: VF-25G: I wish there would be a drum magazine toy for the sniper rifle! Maybe this will be shown in the movie? I wonder why they use gold in the ammunition though. Doesn't make sense. Re: RVF-25: The translation of the range of the Fold radar as 1 light day, rather than as a detection at the speed of light, makes alot more sense as well. Thanks again, Azrael!
  2. Well in Mac Plus the YF-21 ejects its legs (and other parts) when they are hit by the Ghost before transforming, so to some extent VFs can just jettison damaged parts that would interfere with the transformation.
  3. Looking at it side on pretty much exposes the entire cockpit, even on the model kit.
  4. I wish that were true-- but once they destroy the tooling for building the aircraft, and retool the factories for the F-35, there is realistically no way they will ever be able to build more F-22s ever again. For example, when NASA was talking about their Orion project, one of the proposals was (and still is, IIRC) to use the Saturn V rocket in some form-- but even though they still have the blueprints, they don't have the necessary equipment to build another Saturn V and tooling up would be prohibitively expensive.
  5. I hope someone will do it too! My pictures of the manual should still be up in the Mecha thread.

    VF/X-36

Sweet--- right in the spirit of the YF-21(YF-23)!
  7. Yep. Check out the VF-11 1/60 Toy thread-- the VF-11 is about the length of the VF-1, but has a wingspan closer to that of the YF-21 (like shown in the anime)
  8. BTW, looks like early reports were flawed-- Gates is cutting both the F-22 and the C-17... which is not a smart move IMO.
  9. Ahh ok oops. I was slow. Just goes to show what days of sleep deprivation can do to you!
  10. Boo... although it is true that the C-17s are arguably more important to the air force now than F-22s, it is still sad to think that the production line will be shut down so soon (and after so little use). Gates is also pushing for having only 10 CVBGs instead of 11-- looks like both American air and naval air power will be degraded. On a brighter note, what does the acceleration of the F-35 programme do for the F-35C? Any chance that we will see it sooner?
  11. Hmm thats nice then The Cheyenne II basically incorporates both versions of the Cheyenne I (Gatling version and missile version) while adding on the beam cannons of the Tomahawk? Talk about feature creep About the VF-11--- I guess after Yamato found that they could make a 1/60 sized VF-11 without upsizing it, there was no need to retcon the published figures?
  12. Well, on the bright side, the colour on the visor and the canopy looks just right! In about 5 seconds David Hingten will be in to ask you about how you tinted your canopy
  13. Yea that's what I meant by sitting on it--- they have the product ready to go, but are not producing/selling it. Maybe they are afraid that Luca wouldn't sell well? Anyway, the whole Armoured bunch of releases is just good marketing to me--- each Armoured VF-25 product can differentiate itself from other other Armoured VF-25S--- The DX toy was the first to be announced (and doesn't require partsforming or rebuilding) , the 1/72 model comes with reaction missiles and the 1/100 toy is Alto rather than Ozma like the previous two. This way, the sales of any product will be less likely to cannibalize the sales of a similar product in another scale.
  14. Airbrakes are definitely more useful than the cobra maneuver IMO. Not only during combat, but during landing as well! Otoh, the flaperons and horizontal stabilisers can be used on landing. Hmm.. I wonder what they put in place of the airbrake... more fuel? Avionics?
  15. Well they went from gatlings to particle beams from the Cheyenne to the Tomahawk, so that was just a conjecture-- no argument about versatility though, especially in MF given that gatlings can be outfitted with MDE warheads. I thought the weapon underslung on the gatlings for the Cheyenne II were flamethrowers? This is from the episode where they were burning the Varja infestation out of the City Frontier.
  16. Great pics, QJ. I think the problem with the RVF-25 DX radome is, that it is too low and close to the VF, making the RVF-25 Super look too cluttered. In comparison, my RVF-25 1/72's radome has more space between it and the back of the VF. mph2501: Negotiator seems to be the expert on fiddling with the toys to find out tips to make things fit (see his VF-25G Sniper rifle fighter mode fix), he might want to try with the RVF-25 gunpod.
  17. The funny thing is that Bandai is sitting on the RVF-25 design and I don't know why... I just want to do the formation flying scene with all 4 VF-25s and the Konig Monster in All That VF MacF version
  18. Holy moley! Reaction missiles! This armoured pack is realy loaded out! Is the June release date confirmed? I would have liked to get it in May.. oh well. As to the blue and white part--- I'm pretty sure that if the lineart has it white, there will be parts of the anime where it is white as well So do what you like I guess
  19. It bothers me as well-- IMO the Cheyenne I probably lead to the Tomahawk Destroid (based on common features) but replaced the Gatlings with more powerful particle guns--- and now they are going back to Gatlings with the Cheyenne II? That's like going back to use sticks and stones after the invention of rifles and machine guns.
  20. Thanks for the link to the Armoured! So the lineart shows it as white, but the model kit shows it as blue? Personally I'd go with the lineart then-- it matches the scheme of the other VF-25 kits, with the entire bottom section being lighter in colour. With all the mistakes creeping into the DX toy line, maybe some mistakes are occuring with the model kit line too Ironically the toy has it coloured correctly, with the underside of the fighter being white.
  21. Missing black paint on two RVF-25 from SGCollection forums: That is one unlucky collector.
