  1. Delicate in what way? This is the first time I've heard anyone bring up this issue with the sniper rifle. I wouldn't be worried about this-- The hip guns have been on ball joints all along, and people have managed to drop and break the leg of their VF-25 without affecting the hip gun. Amen! Quick question-- have you tried putting the Super parts on the Ozma? ff95gj reported that his intake/hip armour was tight on the Alto but loose on the Michael. I wonder if this is something that occurs with the first release vs this second release.
  2. Well no one seemed to be panicking at the time I made my post, and you just nullified your own arguments by calling people names, so I guess that's that. Just like you mentioned that you have greater tolerances for broken toys, I guess I have greater tolerances for people to air their views about a toy without labelling them negatively just for speaking their mind. Hmm none of the pictures so far reveal whether there is a way to mount the gunpod in fighter mode--- can anyone else who has a toy chime in on whether the DX is like the model kit in this aspect?
  3. It shouldn't be impossible to match the colours if they wanted to, especially since there seems to be no such issues with Alto or Ozma DX toys. I think perhaps some parts were made at one factory, and the other parts at another, before being assembled, and they just didn't follow the colour tolerances closely enough.
  4. Yep... I really hope that a similar situation doesn't occur with the GBP Ozma, even though I will be displaying it with armour on anyway. I'm quite torn over the Luca and Michael though... I'm wondering if Bandai will correct these issues with the re-issue.
  5. Yep, and I guess the hip-gun piece is changed to a new piece entirely anyway. However, it still sucks that you have to rely on the Super parts to cover up the errors that Bandai made-- when those errors don't seem to have any explanation.
  6. Nope... the rest of us are discussing it-- there is a difference between the two. Panicking would be if someone cursed Bandai and all their families and swore off every Bandai toy from now on. Discussing is, for example, asking what are the parts affected by the colour differences and how widespread the problem may be.
  7. That's good to know, at least. Eriku: The shoe doesn't feel so good on the other foot, does it? Maybe you shouldn't say that people are panicking when all they are doing is pointing out a flaw in the toy then. Moving on, is the gunpod able to attach underneath the fighter? Or is it like the model kit where the gunpod can only be held in the hand in gerwalk and battroid modes?
  8. I would think that any difference in the photos is due to the camera, and if you say that the colour difference is noticeable to the naked eye, then it probably is the same way with the other RVF-25 as well.(Despite all of Eriku's attempts to ignore reality ) Even for the second set of pictures the front of the intake is a different green from the area just after the Gerwalk hinge. That's two cases of having different green tones now. Either way, there is still a problem with the colour of the SMS logo-- I guess the people at the toy division just don't pay as close attention as the people in the model kit department Also, ff95gj, could you please confirm whether the the nosecone and other parts that are supposed to be light green are not white like the piping on the wing gloves and wings? Finally I noticed another discrepancy-- the back of the legs is supposed to have a two tone thing going on the sides, but Bandai just has that whole region coloured light green (or white, as it may be) Thanks to Mr March
  9. Thanks man. Are there any other people who have posted pics? Good luck for your exams!
  10. The commercial pics for the VF-25G had the underside of the intakes in the correct colour as well, but on the toy itself it is blue rather than green. I guess we'll have to wait for more people to post pictures before we can make a definitive statement, but from what it looks like now I don't think Bandai has done a very good job on these toys-- PR interviews aside.
  11. Thats weird! The shield, upper intakes, hip guns, radome and wings look to be a different green from the rest of the plane! Is it supposed to be this way?? The model kit doesn't seem to indicate these colours, even for the paint colours. Also, the SMS logos on the model kit are orange like Alto's model rather than yellow like Ozma's model-- whereas in this toy the logos are yellow? All these point to sloppy workmanship on the RVF-25! I don't think I will be getting these until an improved edition comes out.
  12. I've been saying this since the start! A PG Grade 1/60 MF model kit, since the normal 1/72s are considered MG level. With a PG grade, we could even have movable flaps and other interesting stuff! It's not likely to happen though. There doesn't even seem to be much progress with the model kits after the VF-25 series is done. ff95gj: Pics and review please! You can't leave us waiting like this, it's evil! At the same time, official release date for the Luca is 28th of March, which is tomorrow. And we still don't know when Alto's and Ozma's super packs will be released. It's supposed to be March, but next week has only 2 days of March left and that's Monday/Tuesday, whereas releases usually occur on Friday/Saturday, except for Michael DX.
  13. Wow that sucks. At least you got a replacement then
  14. exploding knees and floppy wings, not exploding wings! As I recall someone had one of the knees of their Ivanov (right knee IIRC) basically fall to pieces when he tried to rotate it around during transformation. Seems to be quite an isolated incident though.
  15. It is clear parts. You can clearly see the clear yellow add-on runner in the pictures on 1999.co.jp.
  16. Coolest looking plane: New school: YF-23 Old School: F-14 Both of which had Grumman's hand in making (YF-23 as Northrop Grumman/MDD, F-14 as Grumman). Ugliest plane ever: Boeing X-32 Retractable canards= maintenance hell. I don't see the issue with the B-2 having to refuel to it's maximum fuel load just after takeoff. Many other aircraft do that as part of SOP (like the SR-71) Speaking of the SR-71, I wouldn't really call it stealth, given the thermal signature and the radar return off the exhaust, even if there were some LO features built into the geometry of the aircraft.
  17. Actually, if we are talking about a Macross or Macross-like live action movie, we already have one--- the 2005 movie Stealth. The director himself stated that he was inspired by Macross, and the action sequences clearly show it-- we have the whole Isamu diving into the city and pulling up sequence from MacPlus, the congo-line in the clouds sequence from Macross 0, the exploding refueling aircraft from Macross 0, the crazy UAV with bioneural networks from Macross Plus, the cobra stall maneuver sequence from Macross 0 etc... coupled with a piss-poor Hollywood plot. The film bombed at the box office, making only 76 million for a production that cost 138 million. Would WB really want to take the risk of producing another bomb? Unless the plot is really compelling I could really see the live-action Robotech movie crash and burn.
  18. That doesn't really make sense, since you can't simply upsize the plane at the snap of a finger. For example, the F-18 E/F is not really an upsized F-18 A-D, it is practically a new build that happens to share 30% of the components. It would make alot more sense if the VF-0 was built as the lower technology, backup plan to the VF-1-- designed with normal jet engines in mind but able to retrofit TRTs. That would explain the size better. Oh well, with the VF-11 remaining about the same size as the VF-1 instead of being retconned, I guess we could say that it took 3 generations of frontline VFs before we got back to the VF-0 size (VF-1, VF-4, VF-11). Which could then be explained by the requirement for the 4th (or 5th?) gen VFs, the VF-17, VF-19 and VF-22, to carry internal weapons, like Mr March mentioned.
  19. Ok we are talking about the same thing then About the VF-27, clearly at least one green CF-27 (Grace's) has a cockpit that can accommodate a human sized object. It could just be that the VF-27 can function either as AI controlled UCAVs or as pilot controlled fighters-- so we can't say for sure yet whether the other green CF-27s have pilots or not. Given that we never see any other VF-27 pilots, even in the background, I would guess that they don't have pilots.
  20. Ahah, but there's a twist in the story--- usually it is surname first, given name last-- but if a person adopts or is given an English/Christian name, it comes before the surname. For example, Bruce Lee is called Bruce Lee Xiao Long, where the given/adopted English name comes first, then the surname, then the given Chinese name. This actually makes sense because if the person is in an English context, he can just call himself Bruce Lee, while in a Chinese context, he can call himself Lee Xiao Long. So, in the case of Ranka and Ozma, which are obviously not their given chinese names, they could just be given/adopted names which will correctly be placed before their surnames.
  21. I hope we finally get good lineart for the valks with this magazine!
  22. The 1/100 VF-25G is also more costly than the 25S or F, so I guess you get what you're paying for!
  23. Oops looks like you got one with a lousy groin connector-- I hope Bandai solves this issue before the Armoured VF-25S (which will be even more top heavy) comes out! Looks like the hip armour really needs some blu-tack or double sided tape then. What a disappointment. Also disappointing is the range of motion for the knees. Oh well, I'm waiting for Alto's Super packs to be released so I can finally see what all the fuss is about for the super packs. It should be out by this week! (2 days left Bandai!)
