Watched SINNERS on HBO Max last night. Crazy that it received so many Oscar nominations, basically ripped off Dusk Till Dawn imho.

I feel like there was more of a surprise wit from dusk till dawn. I remember the original ads never showed anything spooky or monstrous. It just kinda looked like it would be an average Tarantino Rodriguez style heist gone wrong movie. 
I remember after work one day since a theater was less than a block away we all just walked over got our tickets and got all caught off guard when it turned into a vampire movie. 
Sinners kinda showed the surprise in the trailers and it became more of a dark titanic where you’re just waiting for the ship to sink. Although definitely better than titanic ever was.

I definitely feel that Sinners was a good movie, but definitely not worth all the nominations. As far as big creepy films of the year, Weapons was far more entertaining although maybe not all that Oscar worthy either. Just a better overall movie than sinners. Critics and academy voters always have too big of a soft spot for musicals

This looks kinda crappy but kinda fun at the same time. Might check out a free watch with some cheap microwave popcorn.

i just wish these horror things with dolls would quit making them look so horrifying from the start. Nobody would ever touch these things if they already look creepy from the start, like in those Annabel movies. The supposed real Annabel looked more like a friendly raggedy Ann ripoff than the creepy thing from the movies.

Project Hail Mary was good. I'm a big fan of the book and was happy to see it come out so well. They made Rocky cute but that was fine.

If I felt like spending money to see a movie then Project Hail Mary would be at the top of my list. That being said, I'm very much looking forward to see it on streaming which looks to be PRIME.

Finally saw Project Hail Mary, very nice movie I liked it. It has ET and Close Encounters of the Third Kind vibe.   Next is Project Hail Mario.

I liked the interactions with Rocky and just love that he was a practical effect. That's so cool.

Just got around to watching the new Anaconda movie on Netflix. It’s definitely flawed and I’m glad I didn’t spend the money to see it in theater, but I still had fun with it and due to being a comedy, it’s easier to forgive its shortcomings. It definitely feels more like a sequel to Tropic Thunder than Anaconda, especially since it follows a very similar formula all the way to the ending. Personally I never really cared much for the original Anaconda, so this actually felt like a better movie to me.

It does have problems with the mostly unfinished major secondary plot. Never explains what happened to all that gold or the people trying to get it.

There’s a few other things to complain about here and there, but it’s a comedy, so I feel like I can forgive it, so overall fun afternoon movie, just don’t think too hard

Like I said it’s not perfect and definitely flawed and not really theater worthy, but if you got a lazy afternoon and some popcorn, it’s a fun watch on the couch. Sometimes it’s good to just have a little chuckle here and there and this movie delivers the little chuckles and a couple big laughs.

We watched ANACONDA last night too, with ZERO expectations, I actually found myself enjoying it a lot. It's a fun movie especially if you have popcorn or some ice cream handy.

Yeah, they sort of forgot about the gold situation, then leaving one or two assault rifles that would have come in handy later. However, Jack Black being left behind as a decoy with the pig on him was hysterical!!

Like I said, not a perfect movie, but great fun with some popcorn and yeah, those items definitely would’ve come in handy.
