Anyway to find out if Takatoku ever actually made this?

look at battroyd armor ,its not like repainted it looks like factory made..

 This and the M&M wedding gift set are old customs, i think they've even been in these boards before. They are custom, not Takatoku. There are also VF-1D toys that got this treatment.

The first giveaway of this being a fake, is that the kanji for kanzen (完全) and henkei (変形) is written incorrectly. It also says "3 タイフ" (instead of 3 タイプ）Then there's also the non-sensical word after the red "VF-1A" plus another heinous mistake underneath the fighter image that says "VF-1A ガウォーハルキリーー"

The closest Takatoku 1/55 Max TV VF-1A and VF-1D to being quasi official were created for promotional purposes by Takatoku back in the day...and most likely in some Japanese collector's dungeon....never to see the light of day.....
