I wish this band got more attention:

I caught a live performance of theirs years ago and they sounded good.  Like a dark, 80s synthwave kinda vibe.

Modern day Type O Negative

Type O Negative is another band. That is sadly missed

They had some really great stuff. More of a metal side of things, but with that deep vampiric voice. Peter Steele was so different from everything that he just couldn’t be replaced.

Is this going to be like how he usually covers songs in that spoken word style?

Personally I think Christopher Lee did some fun music as far as nerd icons doing metal. Nothing like Sauruman going hard core.

I dig it.

I played this for my kids during our commute:

Now they constantly ask for it to be played during our car rides :lol:

The only good song Rush has. Just my personal opinion.  Song about dragons and walking through forests in the dark. Doing battle with a wizard.

My personal favorite of theirs was Dreamline. Not so much an older one or a fantasy song, but something about it just hit me right. Also loved Working Man and Distant Early Warning and Red Sector A and the Alchemist. But I do really like the band. I tend to have high respect for bands that don’t wash out their Bass

Sound like if you smooshed Rush, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest into a blender and this is the result. Little bits of those different elements can be heard throughout.

Just found out about them a few days ago ;

Reminds me a lot of Witchfynde. Kinda heavier than glam metal, but not quite as heavy as thrash metal, just kinda in between sounds. Kinda like the NWOBHM scene with a little more pop to it.

This is nothing new, but I recently pulled out "Reborn" from Aikawa Nanase and was once again struck by how consistently good her stuff is.  The lead track, "Yumemiru..", which is a remix of her first single "Yumemiru Shoujou Ja Irarenai" does a great job of hitting all the fun notes of the original while bringing something new to it.  It's all unapologetic 80s/90s JRock, but if you like that kind of thing (I definitely do!), it's awesome!  Anime soundtracks from that era all sounded like this (at least the ones I watched did) and I always get a Bubblegum Crisis flashback listening to her stuff, but wouldn't mind a Macross set to this kind of music someday, even if it's now a past era.
