That looks cool. I’m a sucker for the good old shark mouth on aircraft.

Actually don't think I'll be doing that one.:D

Current project:

100_0301.JPG.08187cb0b77910df0eac9ea89c988d60.JPG

Making the 1992 Kenner "batmissile" Batmobile into the 1989 version. Using this one for the correct length and (mostly) accurate proportions.

Stay tuned...

That's going to be sooo cool!

@Cheese3 And the collection grows before our eyes! Cool!

@electric indigo Great looking fix to the kit!

@pengbuzz Cool! I look forward to seeing it get an update!

@Thom The Sea Vixxen was all kinda funky! Even the poor radar operator had that "skylight" window. I look forward to the build! - MT

Got all the decals finished up on the SR-71 this morning, and NO, those long red no step lines were NOT any fun at all! I took this picture to show you guys the "before" pic... LOL. Before I try to use oils to weather this thing... I could stop here, blend coat, matte coat and call it a day but where's the fun in that?! 😁

Already cranking right along on the new Academy 1/144 B2. Fantastic kit so far. Zero complaints. All you need to build it is pictured. Academy stepping up the game with all doors and hatches for in flight mode that fit absolutely perfect 👌. Honestly I'm amazed. It's like Bandai perfect. 😯😳

Looks great, weathering and detailing black is always tough and you did a good job of it

More FSS coming together means more and gloss. I really enjoy the painting process with layers of transparent with those amazing MR color Crystal colors

Almost there. I am absolutely plagued with dust and crap appearing on this builds painted surface. It’s even more evident since it’s going to be so glossy. Total bummer but I’m not going to repaint this. I just want to move it along and make sure to clean the spray booth big time. I have been totally neglecting it. 🥺

So getting this FSS Engage SR3 completed and I find out I had selected the incorrect hand to hold the cannon. Since this is a non articulated kit, the hand was securely glued in place so I had to drill it out and will need to replace it the correct hand. So more priming, painting etc… for such a small piece, but not a big deal. Besides that snafu I just need to add a few decals and call it good enough.

The build has been fun, but I really did a sloppy job on keeping the paint clean, dust and lint free which is a let down. Lessons to be learned yet again in this hobby. Excited to make my next build even better. 👍

Looks pretty cool overall. The dust isn’t too noticeable in the pictures. I used to pull the dust and lightly buff the paint and it would often blend in. When it didn’t, I’d run a dirt wash and it would just look like a scrape or something

Thanks. Yeah this one needs to be clean and sharp so no washes. Honestly I could have avoided a lot of the dust if I kept my space cleaner. Just me being lazy. Lol

Tonight I do a deep clean and probably best to do that between every build moving forward.

my biggest problem is cat and dog hair floating around and getting in my paint...even out in the garage in my spray both.  With 5 pets in the house, I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact it's 99% impossible to not have one or two land in the paint... 😺😼

Yeah. Blame my best boi for some of the hair, but I love this crazy dingo regardless. Lol

UPDATE:

Not going to be posting for a while; two major health events just hit us back to back, and all our money just evaporated:

1) I was diagnosed with Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) earlier this week. I have liver damage and inflammation, and am not doing well (on top of everything else).

2) My wife was rushed to the ER earlier this week with extreme shortness of breath, hacking cough and chest pain; they did a CT scan and referred her to a Pulmonary Surgeon and an Oncologist. Today, she had a broncoscopy; she has Stage III lung cancer.

I don't know when (or if) I'll be on; just wanted to let everyone know that I'm not ignoring folks. My heart is in my feet about now, and I've spent the past 2 hours crying.

This just hurts.

Signing off for now. See everyone around I guess...

My heart goes to you and the Mrs, @pengbuzz. You and she have been through a lot, and I am so sorry you are still getting even more. But I believe in you both, and that you are both strong enough to get through this. Just try and be the best loving husband I am sure you have always been, as that is what she will need from you most of all.

@pengbuzzThats some very heavy news. Echoing what Thom said. Just being there for each other in this moment, the silence, the laughter and the tears. All of it.  I wish you both the very best! ♥️♥️♥️

I really hope you both can pull through this tough time. That really is a bad batch of news. Take care and stay strong

NICE! Looks like you used Tamiya's NATO Black. So it seems that it has recessed panel lines, am I correct? I've built two Blackbirds in 72nd scale so far: the Italeri and Hasegawa ones. For both kits, I had to cut those red stripe decals into segments. It's the only way to do it.

@pengbuzz You have my prayer. My dear cousin was just diagnosed with stage 4 cancer last week. She's younger than me, in her mid-40s. You need to cut out ALL sugars from her diet. No carbs, so that means no potatoes, no bread, nothing sweet, no booze, nothing. Cancer feeds off of sugar. Starve the cancer.

I appreciate the advice Steve, but I think it best to get advice from the oncologist at this point. The wrong advice could harm her even further (no offense), and she's all  have left in this world. :(

Last night I started this HG Sirbine I got for a decent price off of eBay. Wow these Bandai kits are made sooooo well. It’s wild.
It’s nice that I can pre-build with no glue so I can work on it around the family and not stink up the place.

The Our Treasure 1:144 SR3 is done. It did come out better than I thought and I can overlook the shoddy paint with dust bits.

I love these newer Dunbine kits. The actual Hg Dunbine is really an awesome kit and just a fun quick build. Even simpler than the Sirbine. Just don’t get the old hg one confused with it, because they’re like night and day. I’m really hoping for even more in the series.
So far the have the Sirbine, Dunbine in several colors and Virunvee and I really want more. Too bad they’re all web exclusive, because they’re some of the best Bandai models

I'm so sorry to hear the news @pengbuzz.  You are amazing at creating works of art from literally nothing (or just masking tape), I hope there is a remission in the future because you deserve the break.  Maybe a miracle can be created out of thin air - you have always surprised me regarding what you can do.  I don't know much about cancer, but know stage 3 is better than stage 4 so I hope something can be done about it.  Stay positive.  Best of luck to you and your wife, our thoughts and prayers are with you and I hope to hear good news from you someday soon.  Take care.

Oh wow. I didn't know that there was an HG Sirbine. A couple of years ago I built the Max Factory Sirbine kit, which was a plastic recreation of their bestselling Sirbine sofubi kit from the garage kit days. It's a non-poseable figure kit and has a sculpture of a nude woman on the shield that's rather exquisite. It's quite an incredible kit.

That one was a more artsy version and there’s another in that line coming up. The Belvine. I don’t think it’s out quite yet, but also no articulation, but damn pretty to look atIMG_3530.jpeg.657a3560209af8f615f0922f587d37df.jpegIMG_3531.jpeg.962a3ff13ac6a57a3dfdb610cbca6bcf.jpeg
The HG is closer to the OVA design, no nekid lady, can’t remember if she was in the Aura Phantasm pictures or not. It was a web exclusive that actually came out right pretty close to the same time as the max factory sirbine, maybe a couple months after, but not by much.

I highly recommend both the Max Factory and new HG Dunbine stuff for different reasons. One line is super detailed statues and the other are great fun to build and mess around with that require very little effort

Since I’m back on a FSS kick, I spent the day prepping the Volks 1:144 V-Siren Neptune. All the pre building went fast and now I’m trying to make some formulas to best match the call outs instead of tracking down some rare/specific colors.
Excited to get this one painted. 👍

Also, used ramen containers are great for separating out pieces
