This is the TOS Enterprise. I no longer have the ability to mold new ones, as my heat gun died some time back and finances are so tight now (thanks to tariffs and such) that buying even model cement is impossible.

No, I have no materials for that; all I have now is what is on hand. We're now in "survival mode". Once I run out of supplies, my modeling is over. We just got word today that we may not even have a place to live in the months to come.

It's that bad.

Anyways, this is going on indefinite hiatus, and possibly disposal, as we now need to make some hard choices.

Sorry to bother everyone.

I do truly hope things change for you. It sounds terrible and I really wish you the best and a whole lot of luck.

I’m so sorry to hear about your situation. That’s horrible. I hope things change for you and your family. ♥️

Thanks for the reference material. Very cool. The head on the runner is exactly like the one that came in that VF-1D fighter.

Alleged 1C prototype parts to add further to the mystique...

Little buddy says hi. I think it came out ok. Pretty much a straight build. I think it needs some weathering.

AK Real Color F-15 Modern Eagle 🦅 Gray went down this morning and it's very nice paint, however nowhere near as dark as I was thinking it was going to be, so tomorrow morning I will start laying down light coats of Vallejo Medium Gunship Gray and see where we end up! Stay tuned!

Looks really interesting. A good dirt wash will bring it out though

My Rei and Asuka sofubi figures are coming along. I used dark blue pastel chalk to do the recessed areas of Rei's hair and an acrylic goache mix of burnt umber and red to do Asuka's hair. Then I did a flat clear coat of V-Color to seal them in. I think I'm ready for assembly now.

Yeah, I want to grab a couple tubes of oils and mess around with washes.

I like the overall tonal shifts you have in the paint as it is. I think hitting it with some dark panel lines would set it off well and balance it all out. Hope the darker gray works out for you.

As always,  just love your figures Greg. Those eyes are hand painted too! Just awesome.

The SDF-1 is pretty much done. Had a slight mishap with the flat coat ( first try went cloudy) the remnants of which can be seen as shadowing on the left side of the very top at the front.

Still not too bad. Just gotta do up the tiny Valks and Monster and place them on it somewhere.20250525_140358.jpg.56b798535a89ad0777c013aa63eff51b.jpg20250525_140625.jpg.36400ba193d78e57018e884000256b47.jpg20250525_140608.jpg.2aa33b56831431f311aa3c4bdfd9e6b9.jpg20250525_141208.jpg.932559ad27a7998c4848a3e2fceff655.jpg20250525_141224.jpg.93ef9caf4d24570df330930a8e11e5ba.jpg

Nice job on the SDF-1!! Really looks incredible! :)

BTW: I've found on fogged flat coats, a second spray of it can often clear up the cloudiness (test a very small part of the clouded area first).

@pengbuzz excited to see the shuttle given some love.

@Big s it’s hard to photograph on my crappy phone but adding a brown oil wash over the kit really melded all the colors in a nice way. Subtle, but nice.

It's the newer Academy 1/72 release #12550 "333rd Fighter Squadron" Great kit. Newer mold, everything fits 99% perfect.

In other news over the weekend I wanted to start my 1/72 Academy AH-64D Apache just for doing the cockpit. I wanted to do 3D cockpit decals and pilots, so Quinta Studios had the 3D decal set and good old PJ Productions had actual AH-64 pilots, so with a little hacking off of feet and other lower bits....🤣 Here's the finished product....Might add a little silver dry brushing but other than that, that's about as much as I'm willing to put into it at 1/72 scale!

UPDATE:

Space shuttle model has failed. While doing some of the remaining details on it (finishing dull-cote, balcony window), I lost control of it and it fell...

Two stories.

Not fun picking up a bazillion pieces from the pavement. 😠

In any event, I am no longer doing any "thrift store rescues"; this one didn't just shatter the model, but my heart as well.

(and no; under the circumstances, I will not be doing a "crash diorama". Not only are the pieces too small [more like shards], but Challenger and Columbia were two events that broke my heart.)

Some days, I tell you....

PROJECT: DESTROYED.

I feel bad for how things turned out there. And I do agree that a challenger type diorama is in poor taste.
Maybe something more sci fi based where it just is damaged, but somehow crashed in a way that the astronauts barely survived and were able to walk away, but in a planet of the apes type situation with a few mini figures might be more interesting

Not enough parts left in any shape to do that, but I appreciate the thought. :)
