Not quite. It seems their singing resonated with these Super Dimension Whatever purple stones, which we have seen used for fold communications and the Vajra's ability to fold through fold dislocation zones. I think that's the story of song in Frontier, its the relationship between singing and these purple stones (and how that plays out).

Purple stones? what purple stones? I had enough of stupid 'stones' with Macross 0. <_<

Well, technically, they're crystals, not stones.

I'm still a little unsure about the Super Dimension Crystals, but I'm slowly coming around to thinking it could work...

Ugh! Why do they have to explain everything? And in the lamest way possible? I really hate that it really spoil my enjoyment of the show. It's a sci-fi series we don't need magical explanations for everything!!!

Gee, and here I thought you were going to say it was just badly animated :p:)

Tsk tsk...oh ye of shallow grasp of art.

The protrusion was awesomely animated! B))

All I gotta say is that Episode 7 has finally got exciting. Granted it was mecha p0rn all the way, it was by far the most noteworthy episodeto me. All episodes prior were completely mundane and remiscencent to Macross SDF. Dont get me wrong, I love Macross SDF but when I see the same formula used, I roll my eyes. Couldnt we just get a different formula? This love triangle thing was bothering me from the start. Thank god for episode 7 or I woulda dropped this series altogether. In ep 1, gee the end of it was like Ep2 of Macross SDF. And dont get me started on ep3 where Alto was grabbing Ranka using the valk's arms and then arm is blown off. Gee, can we say Ep3 of Macross SDF? Then we have Ranka looking to be a star... Can we say Minmay 2? Then Alto, Ranka, and Sheryl... like we need another damn love triangle? And of all male characters, Alto gets to land in the middle of those 2? WTF

Episode 7 caught my attention till the end where we see the Macross Quarter perform like a Valk: Absolutely fantastic. The Monster pilot said she was coming in for a landing, the response was: be gentle. This episode got battles, valks, destroids, and one friggin badasstic Macross quarter with a crazy driver behind the helm of it.

I am not liking the main character, Alto at all. Alto is now really pissing me off. He has become the character I dislike the most. He is a bumbling idiot. Even more so than Hikaru. And of course, in the end he will end up with Ranka. So far he has 2 valks totalled so he is an insurance liability. My bet is that he will get Ranka and dump Sheryl instead of my wish getting blown up or captured and tortured.

On the other hand, Michel is one badass sniper in the VF-25. He was providing cover when they were attacking was just frakingawesome. If they make toy of his valk, I am all over it. He is awesome and rapidly becoming my fav character in Macross F. He at least tries to talk some sense into Ranka. In a way he made his point correctly to Ranka. Ranka should thank Michel for pushing her to sing in public in the Zentradi Mall, not Alto.

Anyways, I will continue watching Macross F even as I suspect the next episode will be less than exciting as it will be more about Alto, Ranka, and Sheryl.

hmmm - so does anybody know what the heck that protrusion was?

"It kinda looks like a bebe. GET IN MAH BELLEH!!!" - Fat Bastard :D

Actually it wasn't a protrusion, it was was her dress folded up. Watch it again.

My guess, and this is complete fan conjecture on my part, but it is somewhat possible, if maybe unlikely, that the fabric of her dress was pushed out that way when she grabbed the fabric of her dress and pushed up that way.

I know, I know. We'll just have to wait until Egan Loo updates the Compendium before we know for sure.

Hmmm...I wonder. With 40+ pages on the this forum I really can't be F***ed to read them all. Was the mysterious red fighter with a VF? I saw it being escorted by NUNS fighters at the end...

Makes me wonder if the Vajra were actually created by humans? Kinda like the ZERG from Starcraft? The first encounter with them served as a training exercise or possibly when they went out of control? (When Ranka's biological parents were killed) They attacked Galaxy because research on them was being developed there? Its possibly the location of their "birth" so the person behind the Vajra wanted them out of the way?

Why was the red fighter there? Observing the battle maybe?

Bah. Any thoughts?

Those VF-27's are NUNS fighters from the Galaxy fleet.

Correction.... THE VF-27 (there was only one) is ASSUMED to be a NUNS fighter from the Galaxy Fleet. :D

Correction, the THREE VF-27's are NUNS fighters from the Galaxy fleet. (they carry both the NUNS insignia on their wings and the Galaxy insignia near the nose)

 My sneakiness has been foiled again!!! My point was is that it has not been confirmed in the story itself which is what I'm waiting for. :)

what is inside Ranka Lee?

you all see it, it came out and was emitting light.

therefore i think it is an insect put inside by varja, when varja first attack 119th fleet, it insert the spy on ranka, now they want to take ranka back to analyse frontier data from inside. the perfect spy, not unlike that MATRIX insect in Neo.

everywhere ranka lee will be, the varja will attack.

so for the safe babe, sheryl is the best.

Well, it IS pretty close-knit, but there are at least 300 members who have never made a post, so we surely don't know EVERYONE.

We know who one of the negative votes was from, but all he said was, "Worst Macross F episode ever," with no further explanation.

Now I don't think this should be a witch hunt, but I certainly am curious about what people disliked about this one...I mean, BESIDES Ranka being a shemale with a glowing tummy, and the Macross Quarter moving like a thirteen-year-old gymnast...

The episode was almost great until the end, don't know why Macross Quater holds the ship "mouth", just in front of its main gun, i mean nobody would try to stop someone with a gun by holding the gun while pointed at you... and don't know why this episode made me remember Aquarion (some wasted time...), which brings me bad memories... also bad character animation... also watched without subtitles... to tell the truth, actually it wasn't a bad episode...

That...makes perfect sense. Thanks.

Maybe she is carrying Alto's love child?

BTW, that statement is not true. Why would Varja attack Galaxy? Ranka was never there?

I'd need better proof that they are indeed NUNS, that pic really doesn't show the NUNS insignia, just the Galaxy's.

I'd wager that the "S" looking insignia near the VF-25's cockpit is a simplified Frontier logo...

Although if Galaxy personel are part cyborg (with all the implants), it would make them somewhat adept at using a VR cockpit control system compared to the Frontier fleet.

Although the BFG pod is very, shall we say..."Gundam"...

Galaxy is two years closer to the centre of the universe

two years closer to varja home planet

so what is inside ranka?? whatever it is, wait it is that green squirrel , which go into sheryl panties and jump on her head, yeah that's it

i want to be the green squirrel.

Newbie here *waves*

After being convinced about Harmonica being from NUNS, I just want to ask about how the three VFs we see at the end of the episode are from Galaxy? I see some logo around the nose, but it's not very clear to me which logo is that. Does anyone has the original logo up for comparison?

yes scouting and small scale skimish only

now they bring in the big guns, cause it is closer to their home star system.

So, laying waste to the 117th Research Fleet was a skirmish? And unless you know something we don't, they could be from the 10th dimension.

Personally it would be awesome for The Doctor to show up and deal with the Vajra

Except we want to see the series last a long time. The Doctor shows up, we say bye to the Vajra and then we no longer have an enemy for our heroes to fight. However seeing the Doctor fight the Vajra would indeed be very awesome!
