  1. Some time ago somebody at /m/ said Alus is a quirky way romanizing Earth. Then I read the Macross II manga which furthers that theory. Different from the OVA Marduk language English translation. Note: Macross II is a sequel to Macross DYRL. The Marduk have a legend about the Ship of Alus. Alus isn't the name of the ship it is the name of where or whom it is from. If we equate Alus is Earth I can think of one source of that ship, the Protoculture city ship Altira. 20,000 years before the Protoculture left their city ship underwater and left for space as the Zentradi entered Sol. They
  2. Which film between DYRL and EoE in your opinion, was more beautiful? I'm talking in terms of sheer imagery, animation, style, colors, etc? I just watched EoE and man, I must say it was pure eye candy, but still doesn't trump DYRL in my opinion.

A closer shot of the dryfit of Bandai SD Super Max VF-1A SD kit's head to reissue Hikaru Bandai 1/55 DYRL VF-1A (which I obtained minus its original head, fitted with an old Jetfire head instead), to check scale & style. Looks in-scale, and the big SD-style eye doesn't look out of place on the big, blocky 1/55 body design.

  9. I have a question about translation of "Macross: Do You Remember Love?" I have seen three different subtitled versions and there is one scene I would like clarification on. After Max defeats Milia on the Meltrandi ship, they hear Minmay's song. Max walks towards Milia and says "Beautiful" (referring to Milia) In subtitle version one, Milia replys "Handsome" (referring to Max). In subtitle version two, Milia replys "Beautiful" (referring either to Minmay's song or Max, depending on interpretaion). In subtitle version three, Milia replys "Beautiful?" (as a question, seemingly not und
  10. Throw another one on the shelves! Just finished up my 1/48 scale DYRL version of the VF-1S (from Hasegawa), done up as Max's ride. Very straightforward build, nothing surprising. I realized that with all the Valkyries/variable fighters I've built, I've never had one displayed in full-speed mode. Decided to remedy that defect with this kit. As usual, more can be seen here.
  11. If the internets are correct this movie opened in theaters on July 7, 1984. Let's all reminisce about the VERY FIRST time you watched this timeless masterpiece.

  13. Famitsu.com has broken the first news on the upcoming Bluray release of Do You Remember Love. The film will come in two flavours: the standard Hybrid Pack edition for 7140 yen and the Hybrid Pack 30th Anniversary Box for 13800 yen. Both versions include a packed in game âMy Boyfrendâs a Pilot 2012â on the movie bluray disc itself. The Hybrid Pack will include the following extras: -90 min special features disc: Flashback 2012 The beginnings of Macross: Kwawmori meets Miyatake Documentary - Do You Remember Love: Flashback 2012 Animation from past videogames based on Do You Re
  14. Hey folks, I recently broke the backpack on my Yamato V2 Focker DYRL VF-1S. I've got a superglue repair in process but I'm not very optimistic because the part that broke is the piece of plastic that holds the flap down and it undergoes some stress as that flap moves up and down.. I think the backpack from any DYRL toy will work since I believe the tail fins can just be swapped out. So, if you accidentally destroyed a DYRL V2 VF-1 toy and are now just looking at a bunch of parts, I'm interested in the backpack. Thanks!
  15. Hello MW'ers, I am looking for any loose Macross/Robotech Valkyries/Veritechs and their accessories. I want toys, armor and miscellaneous parts. Scale and series don't matter. Also I'm interested in broken parts and Valks. So who's ready to sell me their old and extra stuff?? Thank you all and Happy New Year. raya

  17. I'm selling a loose Yamato 1/60 scale V2 DYRL Focker VF-1S, It is complete, includes all accessories, manual, and partially used sticker sheet, but no box. This is an early release with the tinted canopy. The toy is in great shape overall, no yellowing, and most of the joints are still tight and clicky. However, it is NOT a mint toy. Here are some things to note about this toy: Shoulders are Shapeways replacements parts. The right shoulder is a little on the loose side, which is only apparent in battroid mode, but you can always get new parts. The swing bar has some minor paint chipping
  18. Hi, i am really new to the Macross franchise and was interested in getting Macross 30. I just wanted to know a few things before buying it. How does the story mode work? Is it mission after mission then restart the campaign or can you select a specific mission at any time like AC5? Also I have heard that this game has a original storyline but are there any additional missions or DLC which enable you to play through specific parts of the show i.e. the ending of DYRL. Also are the songs from the shows present such as Minmay's "Little white dragon"? Thanks!
  19. Was just recently reminded of the DYRL movie and streamed it. Was immediately blown away, just like when I was a kid. Decided I must own this movie!! The problem, which version. Did some research and found that there are many versions on different formats. I understand that the latest BluRay version is edited/censored, so that is a "NO". Also found that there were some dvd versions released in the last few years, so possibly one of those. Can someone give me some advice or opinion on what is the best UNCUT version of this movie and why? If it happens to be an out of print or older ed
  20. I'm not sure if this counts as a local gathering but an internet buddy of mine by the name of SoulBroRyu and his partner-in-crime Shoji Ramuro are going to be hosting a little Livestream get-together tomorrow night at 11:45 PM EST. Join us for Macross DYRL and Macross Plus (movie version) and let's Macross out!! http://new.livestream.com/accounts/3310250/events/2110667
  21. I'm planning to add English subs to my copy of DYRL BD and my initial forum search led me to these threads of interest: - Hurin's awesome subtitle upgrade (5/18/2005 Update): http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=13965 - Hurin's other upgrade (10/6/2005 Update): http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=13441 - Hurin mentioning re-timing his previous efforts for the 2007 R2 version: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=24267&page=6#entry546651 Although these were for older releases, I'm still interested (and only interested) in the SRT files t
  22. I watched DYRL and just finished SDF. SDF was great! Question is what should I watch next? (and any ideas where I can watch for free would be great too)
  23. Hey guys, sorry I have not been on in a long time, been busy with work and will be leaving for Okinawa for a couple of months, got to support the USMC bases there. Anyways I thought I was share with you all the blu-ray Macross DYRL 30th aniversary that is on youtube, but it is in english, fan dub'ed by Dark Heroes Entertainment and it is good, very great in my opinion. It can be streamed in 720p and the sound is nice, here is the link if you want to see it, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwJjrWhYv3g I will finish the movie once I get to Okinawa and also have shots of Sake while watching it
  24. Hi everyone, This is my first post and I just wanted to share with you guys a lego project that I've been working on! This is the SDF 1 from Macross Do You Remember Love. It's fully transformable so no removal of pieces is required. Some finishing touches still need to be made, but I hope you like it! http://www.flickr.com/photos/64767766@N07/
  25. If you got a broken set and looking to sell a piece or two let me know. I would like to get my hands on a cannon and left calf for right now. Let me know. Or if you have a 1/48 Roy pilot, I'm still looking for one of those.
