  1. Too bad the toy guys had to fix the problem of where the legs connect that Kawamori somehow overlooked 30 years ago
  2. WWII units I want to see movies about 1.Flying Tigers 2.VMF-214 "Black Sheep"(possible sequel to the flying tigers following boyington) 3.761st tank battalion(as long as the BET network or spike lee has nothing to do with it.)
  3. The mecha is from the old sega genesis game Assault Suits Leynos otherwise known in the U.S. as Target Earth. The original game had a semi-prequel/spinoff that came out for the SNES called Assault Suits Valken otherwise known in the U.S. as Cybernator. Later on the programing crew that made the game "zombies ate my neighbors" decided to make a new game, and being fans of both blaster master and cybernator and seeing how neither was getting a sequel anytime soon, they decided to combine ideas from the two and the game Metal Warriors was created. Eventually sequels to both Leynos and Valken were made, although Valken II is a strategy Rpg unlike the originals side scrolling platformer. Metal Warriors gameplay believe it or not U.S. born gajin were behind this game from Lucasarts published by Konami. Its a great game that was released late in the SNES lifespan, yet it is also insanely difficult with no cheat codes, save files and limited continues. This is one of the few games I know I will never beat without cheating.
  4. you aren't the only one!
  5. I don't think that starscream's vehicle form was changed to avoid a lawsuit, more likely the warped looking F-16 was a nescesity to get the robot mode to look like it does in the show. Speaking of the F-16 and its variants/derivitives this gives me the chance to show everyone the plane with my favorite designation! The F-CK-1 Ching Kuo! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AIDC_F-CK-1_Ching-kuo Built by the Republic of China(Taiwan) This plane looks like what happens when you try to cobble a working plane together from spare parts of an F-16, F-18, F-111, and a Mig 29.
  6. Dbz is exactly what came to mind when I started getting into the heart of it and they started talking ranks and power levels. Heck a lot of it reminds me of other things. Its like this show is the ultimate amalgam. I actually stopped watching this for a little while because I got Appleseed: Ex Machina. Its a fun little romp. I really like the nice little twist they gave the head of the Posiedon Corporation.
  7. I cannot overlook the fact that we are supposed to have sympathy for this broad obviously drunk off her ass, gets behind the wheel, kills the guys kid and pregnant wife, then comes back to apoligize, can't even come clean, lies like a coward, and they fall in love.... You know compared to that B.S. suddenly another planet popping up in near orbit doesn't seem all that far fetched. All I know is if the drunk driver that killed my family showed up at my house I'd put a couple of shells from my double barreled shotgun between their eyes.
  8. To qoute Samuel L. Jackson... "That is some ****** up repugnant ****!"
  9. So I'm reading the bad reviews for Captain America on RT and I relized something the critics that said it sucked either... 1.never liked comics to begin with 2.are tired of comic book movie overall 3.see this as nothing but a set up for next years avengers movie and show nothing but contempt 4.feel america is the great satan and go off on a political tirade Most of them hardly touch apon the actual movie itself so its no surprise to me that critics say 72% and audiences rate it higher at 87% currently.
  10. The HUD reminds me of the old Apple IIe game. Personally I think it might do better as a 360 live arcade game.
  11. I finished the first disc of Claymore. Its okay, but I wish it wasn't as predictable as it is. I already seem to have a sense of where this series is going. Maybe its me and I've just seen too much anime these days. EDIT: I do have one question. What is it about a Claymore's body that would make a bunch of horny rapist bandits say "no thanks"? Well except for the one wounded bandit that attempted it on the revenge/humiliation angle before he got whupped on.
  12. I finished HOTD and liked it alot and hope a new season comes out. When they introduced that sleazy teacher I thought he was going to ruin the show, but I was actually surprised with how he was handled. Now on to Claymore. I heard a lot of things comparing it Berserk as a kinda kindred spirit to it. All I want to know is if I liked Berserk will I like this?
  13. She's the one that almost killed the porn industry Oh yeah miss "I'm underage but I'll fake my ID, make a bunch of movies, become a huge star, and when I'm finally legal I'll make one film I only own the rights then come out and admit I was underage. That way I can make a killing and use the infamy to launch a mainstream career!"... So how did that work out?
  14. I started watching Highschool of the dead, and I couldn't help but notice the school nurse reminds me of the main character from Grenadier. Grenadeir isn't a bad show once you get over the fact that Rushuna has huge boobs and uses them as part of her revolver reloading technique. The final battle is actually one of the most impressive anime gunfights ever. EDIT: Oh yeah the male lead isn't an whimpy whiner boy either.
  15. I just got my copy for the 360 and like mikeszekely mine was also the last copy. So far I like it. 1.The graphics are nicely overhauled, love the cell shading 2.Its good to see Kou Uraki back in a game 3.I noticed they borrowed the battle gauge from fed vs zeon so you can die and respawn till the bar is out. 4.The tutorial missions are crap. The little blurb says something along the line of "so and so is a powerful move/enemy to use/kill learn how to use/kill it here. BUT IT DOESN'T ACTUALLY TELL YOU HOW TO DO IT. Not to mention the first one throws you up against the Big Zam. Only my prior DWG experience saved me. Newbies are going to be like WTF?!?! 5.The variety of gundam shows is amazing I think the only thing I haven't seen so far is anything from "for the barrel" 6.The enemy aces respawning is kinda annoying so far.
  16. If the book version of starship troopers was used it would only be 20 minutes, and consist of "deploy from drop pods, hey we found this girl, picked up signals of other colonists, roast chest burster with built in flamer, fight off xenomorphs hand to hand using suits strength, fire grenade launchers, lose maybe one or two troopers to acid fall back, mini nuke site, call retrieval ship, THE END. EDIT: as for a star wars/aiens crossover, the only thing preventing it is lucas's creative control. Both are Fox products. That still hasn't prevented little easter eggs from popping up in the comics/books.(a xeno drinking at a bar in the rogue squadron phantom ship arc, the narcissus escape pod parked in mos eisley in the crossection book, one of the things inside the sarlaac in tag and binks) None of the appearances are canon though. Just like the 2001 pod being in watto junkyard.
  17. 1.John Cena may claim Boston, but Boston does not claim him. 2.The Boston Bruins as a 3rd seed coming out of a supposedly weak eastern conference, went through 2 game 7 series, riding their aging goalie, WERE AN UNDERDOG against The Vancouver Canucks the regular season points champion, number 1 seed from the west, with multiple 40 goal scorers, and supposedly the best goalie in the league.
  18. I wish the Arizona looked a little more like its real life counterpart. At least the Yamato despite being all gussied up still looked like the real life yamato not some generic ship. I like the Petr Veliki, its obviously supposed to be a mass produced of the movie version Arcadia. I love the tributes to the spitfire, mustang, and the viking. The Ibuki looks like a deathtrap. Very few anti aircraft guns, and the rear facing turrent is essentially useless with its firing angles blocked.
  19. That reminds me they just released the only other black guy besides Lando from the original trilogy as part of the Endor pilots pack TRU exclusive. The "ITS GONNA BLOW!" guy. EDIT: one of the two packs also includes that poor bastard tie pilot that got stuck behind the Falcon as it made its escape from the death star.
  20. The thing is Godannar was tongue in cheek intentionally funny, yet had a good plot along with the fan service. Magnos on the otherhand with enemies like "Xerxes Tireiron Dada" and "Octopud IV" well you can probly guess... apparently google vid had some episodes. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6596418551121405086#
  21. This is awesome! I decided to look up the Skyray and the Fighting Falcon to see if anyone was behind both projects and I came up with Ed Heinemann. He was the guy that designed the Skyray(won an award for it) for Douglas and was the VP of engineering for General Dynamics where his last project was overseeing the F-16 prior to his retirement. There is definatly his handprint on both planes. He also has quite the resume... SBD Dauntless dive bomber A-20 Havoc light bomber/attack aircraft A-26 Invader light bomber/attack aircraft A-1 Skyraider attack aircraft A-3 Skywarrior bomber A-4 Skyhawk light bomber F3D Skyknight night fighter F4D Skyray carrier-based fighter aircraft As for what I'd like to see from a Vietnam era Ace Combat, I would love to see a couple of missions based around the FAC/SAR/ close air support, as an excuse to fly an OV-10 bronco or an A-1 skyraider. More flak and ground fire too, sometimes it seems a little too safe flying into the enemies fortified capital.
  22. Yeah thats from a very early O'bannan(I think it was him) treatment that got axed under the belief it was too expensive for SFX/sets to do. Parts of the idea later were used in the first AVP film.
  23. Personally I wouldn't want the F-3 Demon anywhere near an ace combat game unless I was trying to get myself killed in that underpowered POS deathtrap. The only good thing about is that it became a stepping stone to the Phantom. The skyray on the other hand is a great little plane, and I swear after being able to get up close and personal with one and the new england air museum, that who ever designed the F-16's airframe had that plane in mind.
  24. The setting of this movie is only supposed to be 80 years before "alien". As for wether humans should already have the bio technology do you really expect any of the humans to survive to make it back? Maybe a radio message describing what happened, butI wouldn't be surprised if this movie ends with everyone going back to their cryopods only to have some poor sap that got hugged earlier in the movie gets busted. Finally I just wanted to add Ridley Scott is THE THE ORIGINAL F'ING SOURCE MATERIAL! EDIT: as to fossilization we don't even know if thats the actual space jockey or just part of the ship/spacesuit.
