This looks great. Now if I could only find a copy of Mikazuki on DVD. I've been waiting to see that movie for years.

It amuses me when people say a martial arts movie is a parody of or homage to the Matrix, when the Matrix itself was one big homage to old kung-fu movies.

Michael, "Better use the Turbo Boost!" KIT, "Wait! Michael! I can only use the Turbo Boost once per episode!" Michael, "Well I'm using it!" ZooooooOOOOOOO*CRASH*

I'm with the "Far, FAR too much chrome" crowd. The overuse of chrome just makes it look like bad CG.

I thoroughly enjoyed Shaolin Soccer, and have been looking forward to this ever since I saw the trailer (several of them, actually) a month or two ago. I just hope I can see it unedited, with the original music and subtitles. I still remember when they were going to bring Shaolin Soccer over, rename it Kung-Fu Soccer, replace the entire soundtrack with rap, and cut 40 minutes from the movie. *shudder*

Smokescreen, Meister and over drive are the best at avoiding the shell method of transformation. Hound, grimlock and sideswipe have a lil to much hanging of but still are not to bad. Tracks is pretty horrid when it comes to kibble issues though... I've always had to wonder about the standards by how some people decide ifa Transformer is a "shellformer". I look at some of the Alternators people say are "shellformers" then look back and can only come to the conclusion that there have been "shellformers" since the Diaclones. I've been considering this trailer, it looks better than anything I could make myself. The question remains, though, how much am I willing to spend on one? I mean, there's seriously no reason why a mass produced, non-transforming plastic trailer needs to cost as much as MPC Prime.

I'm wondering what's up with fat Palpatine. I mean, from the trailers and photos, it looks like we'll see normal Palpatine, fat evil Palpatine, and skinny evil Palpatine. Wacky.
-
I kinda want to bid on it, just to have a robot wandering my apartment.
-
Heh, I have this book, too. Mine is falling apart, of course I bought it in that condition way back in the mid 90's for like a few bucks.
-
I was going to mention Palpatine, for all of a minute I thought that was probably theb est possible choice of villain. But than I thought of a cinematic villain that had been around much longer, who had an even creepier and just plain evil movie presence (if only for one scene). I'm quite surprised that no one else has agreed.

There is one classic villain of the cinema that stands..er..sits tall over all the rest. "It would be quite possible mein Führer, nuclear reactors could...heh...I'm sorry mister President." "Mein Führer, I CAN WALK!!"

It's here...Shadow Chronicles screenshot!

While I'm still not digging Scott's/Stig's spandex uniform (and there is a difference between spandex and a jumpsuit people), this screenshot looks a helluva lot better in that it's clear that they're not overdoing the oversaturated colours. Also, other than the uniform, from at least this screenshot I'm thinking I'll dig the art style. -
I wouldn't go so far as to say that if you watch it again, you'll like it, but saying that there's hardly any sex related content is simply untrue. Heck, usually people that hate the series bring up the idea that M7 has more fanservice than any other Macross (wich I don't think is true, either).

Interested in One Piece. Need some opinions

Unfortunately, since 4Kids got ahold of the series, it's unlikely that we'll ever see an unedited version of the show. I'd reccomend the manga in that case. I started watching the fansubs a while back, but didn't get far before it was licensed and everything was pulled. The show seemed decent. Not exceptionally great, but fun. seemed to be on track to become a typical shonen semi-tournament style anime. -
Hopefully Sky Captain will get plenty of votes. It's unfortunate that such a great movie did so poorly. Still, some of the choices, or rather lack of choices, in some of the categories seem strange. I mean, shouldn't DOOM3 be one of the videogame choices? Absolutely no cartoon network shows up for votes in the tv series section? You can't say that this section is limited to broadcast television, Battlestar Galactica is Sci-fi channel.

I'd like to see it bundled with a VF-1J, as I don't have a VF-1J yet. If I were to buy a 1/48 VF-1J without GBP I'd rather get the Max and Millia versions. However, I'm getting a bit worried that they won't bundle it, so I might give in and nab an unarmoured VF-1J once I can scrap together enough monies.

The Official Yamato VB-6 Monster Thread
Radd replied to Montarvillois's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I'm still waiting for a fanmade sticker sheet. Of course, I haven't looked to see how similar the stickers are, maybe all I need are the "eyes". Unfortunately, my Konig and every other Macross toy I own is packed away until I move in a couple weeks. I really can't wait to break them out again. I wouldn't say the Konig gets no love. I absolutely adore mine, it's definitely my current favourite toy. Like I've said before, if they released it in an alternate colour scheme I'd most likely pick up another one. -
I've heard that the music playing during the duel between Anakin and Obi-wan will be kind of a cross between Duel of the Fates and the duel music from Return of the Jedi where Luke defeats Vader.

http://www.acen.org/ Yo, just wondering if any Macrossworld members were planning to hit up ACen this year? I'll definitely be there. I've got an Artist's Alley table (apparently going to be in the Dealer's Room this year) where I'll be celebrating one full year of my webcomic, ang generally whoring my comic books and artwork.

The Liquid Stone YF-19 has always looked incredibly fragile and floppy to me, however if it's also perfect variable and Yamato isn't releasing anything else I'd probably snatch one up. If nothing else, it would look nice next to my 1/100 VF-19S and my 1/100 Konig Monster.

I believe Keith is referring to the japanese audience when he speaks of the popularity of 7. I don't know if M7 was indeed popular in Japan or not, but it certainly seems that way based on how much has come out of it. When a series flops in it's first season, it's usually pulled, or even cut off midseason, it doesn't seem like smart business sense to pump out an entire second season, followed by an OVA, bonus episodes, a theatrical short movie, extra soundtracks, model kits (there may not have been a lot of toys, but there seems to have been a decent amount of models), ectcetera.

The screenshot is pretty rough, but if it's any indication then this new show will have the horribly oversaturated look to it that a lot of animation suffers from these days. Also, I'm not a fan of spandex, so I'm not digging the uniforms. I don't see how spandex is an evolution in character design. Still, when it finally shows up on tv I'll give it a look-see. I'm interested in seeing the MOSPEADA designs in action again. -
It is true that people are more, much more, likely to speak up about things they hate, than things they like.

Actually, I should amend my last post. "War is wrong if it's avoidable" is a moralist oversimplification. Rather, "war is not always the only or even the best solution" maybe?
-
Actually, the theme I got out of SDF was 'war is wrong if it's avoidable'. I thought that was a pretty overt theme, as well. Not really subtle.
