  1. I keep coming back for new pictures...that's how impatient I am
  2. I personally don't care about the contents of the cockpit as long as it is not a blob of paint. Those who have the 29 maybe know it, but I hope this includes different hands, like fists and salute hands to complement the articulated one.
  3. the kanji in the small insert that shows a different design is titled "preliminary sketch" That head was almost completely recycled with the VF-25G!
  4. the struggle to get one...I can't even begin to imagine how hard it's going to be! Hong Kong is a toy jungle!
  5. It is indeed!!! Thanks for the links! Hope this inspires tali21.
  6. very cool stuff but it's not there. I will keep looking.
  7. I remember there was another amazingly skilled builder from Japan who made an Armored S, a Super G, and what not. His models were fully painted, with subtle weathering and fully transformable. He took photos quite professionally too, with lighting that accentuated contours, with a backdrop of Gundam walls and floors. I also seem to remember it was on Yahoo.jp.
  8. My experience with models is limited, but I know that Bandai's VF are not really meant for repeated transformation. Think of it maybe as a display/posing option in any of the three modes, but never take it as a transformable toy. Not only the decals will be ruined (even after Mr. Mark Setter), the whole model may be broken after repeated transformations. Clear coating will not save your decals from scratching either because some pieces are so close together they will inevitably rub against each other. I would still use the decals over the stickers: the latter are very translucent and on this wine red model it's not going to work. If you had an airbrush, maybe it's OK to spray a clear coat on it, but rattle cans will not give you an even coat and thickness is not your friend on a transformable figure. There was an old discussion regarding the VF-27 here, and I remember I found an amazing build by a Japanese guy who didn't paint the big surfaces, but did tons of detailing with the panel lines and recessed details. I cannot find the link anymore.
  9. If they can't even release the VF-25S Armored version...how can you ask for anything else? Oh wait, we're talking about the VF-1!!! of course we can have YET one more incarnation of that!
  10. I still can't believe that at this price tag, they don't include water decals (or those Gunpla transfer markings) nor landing gears in the pack.
  11. Same here Ignacio, in the winter months (when we don't use aircons) the humidity is high and dust gets stuck on models' surfaces. Also, let's face it, fingerprints love Bandai's shiny finish. I don't need to clean my aircraft models (my other collection) as much as the valks since I handle the latter more often for obvious reasons.
  12. since we're at it: in battroid mode, do the wings "slice" through the wingroot extensions (wing gloves?) like in the model or do they stop inside them, like the lineart aboce seems to suggest? I personally prefer wings to "slice" through, hence are more tightly tucked inside, so the figure looks more compact at the back. The kit and the Robot Damashii versions do it like that.
  13. Thanks for posting the interview! Too bad I need machine translation for that. Please, if anyone notices Ami-Ami reopens their preorders before I do, post
  14. There is no best in this addiction, only better, and better, and better...and limited edition exclusive... Don't worry about some people, even if you have a huge 1/60 Valk collection, they'll still think those are Jetfires and talk to you about Megan Fox! I think the VF100's were a waste of my money, I guess what I am trying to say is "careful, don't get more of this particular line or you will feel it's a waste of your own money too" (I have 3 -passed on the armored F- broke the G already and transformed it, maybe twice in over 2 years?), but everybody has to start somewhere. My first ever valk was probably a pencil sharpener bootleged from some robotech merchandise. EDIT: that was in the mid-eighties...Takatoku's were the holy grial of valk collecting and all I could find locally was a cheap bootleg.
  15. for me, the VF-100's were such a waste of my money. You should look into the DX V2.0 coming out in October.
  16. I wish I could get bitten by the same bug Micky! I simply cannot afford to have an airbrush sitting in my bird-cage apartment here. Without proper tools, the model kits are just wasted IMO. Thanks for documenting the process and congratulations on pursuing the modeling hobby even further!
  17. IF there is something to be done about the VF-27, it would be to add a crotch bar to lower the legs a tiny bit, and maybe add some "pelvic thrust" and that's it, so I also don't think these modifications commercially justify another version yet.
  18. I am starting to regret I didn't preorder...looks quite good. Still wondering where do the ventral fins go in gerwalk and battroid modes.
  19. I am glad I don't care at all about the Super and Armored parts, much less the Tornado IMO designed specifically to hide the failures of the DX v.1, and NOT the "real" VF-25. I am probably quite alone, but I do like the clean VF-25
  20. Vifam7, excellent custom! I wish Bandai would give us a black VF-27...I always thought that since it looks like the SR-71 it should be painted like one. If I had a complaint about your work, it would be the floating hydraulic strut behind the nose wheels, looks very sci-fi but I think it's a bit weird...it's only me.
  21. That's actually a production example and they will all look hand painted
