  1. Universal talks Blu-ray Audio Plans - DTS-HMA to be standard So Universal isn't doing straight ports of pre-existing HD-DVD masters. I'm glad for that.
  2. I vote negligent. IIRC Basara was his pet project. Also isn't there something about keeping the comlinks clear for clear communications? Flight Leader: "CF 21 go take out that *squawk!*" Basara: "LISTEN TO MY SONG!!" CF 21: "WTF?! Say again lead, take out ARRRGGGH!!" Boom. or Flight Leader: "CF 16 you've got incoming at your *squawk!* " Basara: "LISTEN TO MY SONG!!" CF 16: "WTF?! Incoming whe.ARRRGGGH!!" Boom. or Flight Leader: "TF Squadron, new targets. Take out WTF?! " Basara: "LISTEN TO MY SONG!!" Flight Leader: "Civilian craft! This is a military ope..AAARRRGGGHH!!!" Boom CF 16: "Captains down! Captain down! I STARSCREAM AM NOW YOUR LEADE.ARRRGGGH!!" Boom. CF 13, 14, 15: "WTF! WTF! WTF! We're all going to die! IEEEEEE!!!!" Boom. Boom. Boom.
  3. They never are. Almost all we've been given from the companies so far are percentages. The make or break Blu-ray season, afaic, is this coming christmas season. One format, profile 2.0 players "should" be out and the deals start again. If Ironman does as well as I expect it to do, we will probably see a spike once it hits Bluray. Hell when Paramount decides to release Transformers on Blu-ray we'll see a spike there too.
  4. What can I say? I loved giant super robots as a kid. Well Dangard was more of a giant real robot instead of giant super robot. Tech was slightly inferior to the enemies but pilot smarts save the day. Leiji Matsumoto writes good characters....plus I love the way the ship becomes the hat. haha. Lunch, morning, sundays.....yup. Channel 47 was great. And that's where I got the name.

  6. I hate you guys. That's another $100 gone.
  7. Good luck with that. It's only once in awhile I'd see Force Five DVD's on eBay. That includes Starvengers, Dangard Ace, Gaiking, and Grendizer. Never seen these shows on torrents. Well I've seen Grendizer and it took forever to dl but it was in Arabic and no subs. I'm more interested in the Jim Terry versions or the original Japanese versions.
  8. Dangard Ace had the helmet with antennaes but Starvengers had the chain attack robots. You're looking for Force Five.
  9. No relation. Godmarz came out before Orbots. From Wiki: The Godmars toy would serve as the prototype for an unreleased Mighty Orbots toy. In addition, the Godmars series served as the prototype for the Mighty Orbots series albeit Godmars is a mature, anime version of Orbots. The Godmars toy was released in the US Market with different names for six robots; Commandbot (Gaia), Giantbot (Sphinx), Uranus, Titan, Shin, and Ra were all named based on their Base Color with a "bot" Suffix (Ra was Bluebot for example)

  11. Got my payment request email from Toy-wave. After paypal and shipping(Air Parcel) to Canada price is $138.40usd.
  12. I've personally never had a problem when ordering from Toy-Wave and I've ordered from him for years. I also ordered after the BL nomination to test whether his service has gone down. I found it was the same as before. So...I pre-ordered from him for the new 1/60.
  13. Toy-wave = $100! Yay, BBTS is overcharging.

  15. Try setting the BD Audio, Optical to Bitstream. Yeah I know it makes no sense but I was watching Hitch the other night, which is 5.1 uncompressed and DD and both came out as stereo. I was WTF?? Switching BD Audio Optical from Linear PCM to Bitstream fixed that. Really really strange but it worked....especially since I'm using Logitech Z5450 speakers until this summer. I head down to San Diego for SDCC and I'm picking up either the Onkyo 606 or the Yamaha 663, not sure which one yet. After that the speakers get upgraded.
  16. WOOHOO!!! This means Universal is releasing ..... finally! http://uk.reuters.com/article/internetNews...740482320080417
  17. The link's somewhere in this thread.
  18. What misleading? These are the current market prices of the toys. You can't go to sellers and say, "I want that for $165 because that's what it used to cost". If we could we'd all go to car dealers and demand they sell us a Rolls for what they cost back in the 60's. If you want to compare previous prices then the 1/48 Super at $165 should be compared to the old 1/60 Super at $100(HLJ). $65 difference then, still $65 difference now. USD tanking versus the Yen. Oil prices skyrocketing. Cats and Dogs living together. It all adds up. Would I prefer the lower original pricing? Absolutely! Do I think it's currently priced unfairly? No but I'm waiting on Graham to review one for us.
  19. Good luck trying to find the ML stealth armor for a decent price. My 2nd favorite armor, right after the Centurion armor and it was short packed so that all the scalpers(including comic/toy stores) jacked the prices on those astronomically. One's going for $80 on eBay right now. frakk that. Rather buy a Series 1 normal IM and repaint it before I pay those prices. For the movie I'm just missing the IM exclusive and the Stealth Armor. Missing the Thorbuster armor from the ML line but I hate that armor.
  20. Let's see: 1/48 Super Valkyrie would cost: HLJ = ~$200usd Toy-wave = ~$180usd BBTS = $200usd LOS = 1/48 1S($155) + Super/Strike parts(70) =~$225 New 1/60 Super Valkryie would cost: HLJ = NA(no info) Toy-wave = NA(no info) BBTS = $155 LOS = $138.95 Hobby Search = $120 Over Drive Inc = $112.99 So averaging out a Super Valkyrie for 1/48(2 american and 2 japanese stores) = $201. Averaging outa Super Valkyrie for 1/60(2 american and 2 japanese stores) = $136. Huh. Still getting a new 1/60.
  21. Strangely enough I find myself agreeing with eugimon for a change. Strange feeling. Going to kill that feeling off with some C&C3 right now.
  22. Blah blah blah....relaunch of Playstation Store....blah blah blah....DTS-HDMA...blah blah blah firmware 2.30 blah blah blah... Grace you're adorable but.... eyes focused on the camera and speak slower! http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/04/10/...re-walkthrough/
  23. That IP is not in the ban filter either.
  24. LOL! Michael Bay responds! http://www.shootfortheedit.com/forum/showt...24541#post24541
  25. signed: 125322 http://kotaku.com/377605/uwe-boll-responds...-frakking-retard Uwe Boll Responds To Million Man Petition: "Look I'm Not A frakking Retard" Yes, we've definitely heard all about Uwe Boll's claim that if a million concerned gamers were to band together, say via internet petition, he'd stop making movies. You can throttle bak on the tips, Turbo. While no one at the Kotaku Towers complex believes that Uwe will give up the movie biz for a second, it doesn't seem to have curbed enthusiasm for an internet rallying cry. How does Mr. Boll respond? In shattered English, Boll says he hopes that someone, somewhere will start a pro-Uwe petition. Why? Here's why. "I'm not a frakking retard like Michael Bay or other people running around in the business or Eli Roth making the same shitty movies over and over again," says Boll. "If you really look at my movies you will see my real genius you know, and if you go on May 23 on Postal you will see that I deliver a movie what nobody else delivered in the last 10 years, what is way better as all that social critic George Clooney bullshit what you get every frakking weekend." Pretty infallible, but if it's not clear yet, Boll clearly illustrates that you're at fault, not him. "You have to really wake up and you have to see me what I am," he says. "I am the only genius in the whole frakking business. Goodbye." Genius? And how! He's got a legion of anti-fans paying him more attention than ever as Postal approaches. I'm off to generate that pro-Boll petition, 'cause if Boll stops making movies, we're out a half-dozen posts a month. Oh, and sprinkle some [sic] around this post. It's all verbatim.
