  1. Anime Export seems to take a little to process things, but once you have an order paid for, it should appear in your order listing. They have a similar process to HLJ, and will store your items until you request and pay for shipping. One of my Hayate Kairos orders is through Luna Park, it was my first order with them, and I'm only really halfway certain I want these, so I used them as a backup for both Hayate and Mirage's AX. We'll see if they pull through.
  2. Searching HLJ has been just a completely useless task for years now. I don't honestly know where anyone gets the links for them ever since they completely redesigned the site, and removed the advanced search options.
  3. wow HLJ's site is a disaster ever since the redesign. Added to cart no problem... out of stock before the checkout page loaded. Think I managed to snag one at Anime Export though, that's the only site it actually loaded on for me with a simple search.
  4. Nope, just the 57 minutes, it's 11 pm Pacific right now, 3 pm Japan time.
  5. Checked Episode 6 during the launch sequence, and they all look the same to me. Part of me wants more of them to add to some of my super packed 31s, but then the rest of me says "Nah, it looks goofy most of the time anyhow." This is probably something I'd just display with a super packed Arad..
  6. What they really should have done is include these in the first release, because the show was already done by that point. When I went to fill out that survey, I actually pointed this out, and asked for them to just release a weapons pack including this pod, and a pile of underwing stores to use on all of those empty hardpoints they keep including in everything. Seriously, what do they expect people to do, buy up used copies of the 171 super packs and bunches of the YF-19 bundles to have something to actually stick on the wings? It's not like Bandai is making any money at all on them as a feature, because they don't make anything to use on them. It's getting to the point of the hardpoints being a non-feature, because the lack of use for them is so freaking obnoxious.
  7. Yeah, I wouldn't expect it to be too long before a kit of that shows up, but looking at that one closely, you can see it's a kitbashed/modified 31 kit with a bunch of customized parts, and an Sv-262 gunpod glued onto half of the pod mount. I was worried for a moment, that canopy is ridiculously yellow.
  8. I think the bigger problem you're going to have here is that there's no way this would ever work on a carrier. Even presuming you could land at a low enough angle of attack to not destroy the prop by digging it into the deck, how's that hook going to work with the blades slicing the wires? Cool design regardless, but I don't believe there have ever been any carrier-based pusher designs for exactly those reasons.
  9. A little sad we won't get the actual Buzz voice, but maybe makes sense if he's supposed to be younger. Also, I want that ship. (Not excuses. ) Seriously, that's an awesome design, and I love the fact that this looks almost like a cross between the setup for Farscape, and Star Trek IV. Actually I probably would have straight up died if they got Ben Bowder and Claudia Black doing voicework. Also, yes, Titan A,E.'s ship, but I actually was reminded more of the ship from E.T. Both pretty similar designs.
  10. I mean, they got at least some of the look down, and hopefully they hung onto as much of the soundtrack as possible. I've had essentially zero expectations about any of this since I first heard of it, so I think it would actually be really difficult for it not to be better than I expected.
  11. Yeah, quibbles with the design itself aside, I think the 31 kind of puts Bandai's effort with the VF-25 series to shame. It just feels like a higher quality product.
  12. Eh, it's got some good points, but I feel like this is going to take some in-movie context to really feel fitting for anything in particular. The vocal work is fine, but after Frontier's soundtrack, Delta's feels... exactly like what it is, I suppose? It just feels like mass-production pop music. That in itself isn't a bad thing, and the music can be fine, but it just feels like a background detail to the story, rather than enhancing it in any way. The sort of weird meta-irony about that is that.. it could be entirely intentional? At least as far as this anti-Walkure group is concerned anyhow, as I understand it's supposed to be AI-generated and mass produced. On the other hand though, Walkure never felt to me like they were about "music," they were about singing, in a mechanical sense of the word, just using music as a tool. Frankly speaking, I think that lands them squarely in the same rut that the Jamming Birds found themselves in, just being slightly more effective due to more rigorous recruitment requirements.
  13. Ok, I will admit, I'm not familiar enough with those designs to really tell how they're suppose to look, but are they actually painted with some splattered camo pattern? Like.. Great if they're supposed to look like that, but compared with the one very clean black ship, those all look like they've literally been left out in the rain. Maybe Eaglemoss missed its calling and should be doing weathered carrier aircraft? They look kind of like someone used that splotchy salt-wash technique on them.
  14. Boy, you'd think after this long, Bandai would figure out how to improve that gap behind the cockpit, not make it worse. Also have to say the canopy shape worries me with that jagged edge, because that's just begging to crack and shatter. Really should have just left well enough alone there. Anywho, I'm going to be that guy, and say I want to see how it looks with the standard VF-31 pod.
  15. Welp, I wasn't planning on this one, but oh well. Long as there's no madness involved, I'll grab one for completion's sake.
  16. I would say yes, that seems high, but I think shipping across the boards has gone batsh!t insane. I really don't know what a "good" price for anything is at this point. I'm not going to say NY isn't gouging you, but 8000Y doesn't seem all that out of the ordinary right now. I checked back in my history, and after paying an estimated 5540Y for EMS shipping on the initial order, I got an additional charge of 3430Y when it came in stock.. so yeah, 7881Y for shipping is actually a fair bit less than the 8970Y I wound up paying for EMS.
  17. Also would be really difficult to do that as a DIY mod, considering the feet are solid metal. Could maybe paint the exhausts with fluorescent paint, but I don't think Bandai's construction is in any way conducive to adding internal lighting. They just love filling every nook and cranny with plastic inserts.
  18. Think we could get together a crowdfunded effort to have the original English voice cast do a fan-dub of it as well?
  19. The YF-21 is top of my list as well, just so long as they can fix the wonky proportions their display prototype had. I'm honestly not sure if I ever want anyone to attempt a VF-2SS though. Bandai did decently well with their HMR version, but that is by far the most fiddly and un-fun fighter mode of any valk, hands down. It may as well be an action figure with an incidental "folds up to look like it's flying" mode.. kind of like a lot of Gundams actually. I would love to see someone engineer one that's somehow solid in any mode, but I'm not even sure the design itself is capable of such a feat, because there just isn't any structure to it. You know, it didn't exactly occur to me.. but I think I would be perfectly accepting of some more Macross 30 schemes on existing toys. The game didn't go so far as to give us any actual VF-17s, but it did give us Gamlin and Milia schemes on some VF-171s. I'd buy those easily if they were released, not mention the single most wanted VF-17 variant I have, and never expect anyone to produce:
  20. Boy oh boy do I ever wish they would re-engineer those and discard the stupid "wing panels are spring loaded" gimmick.. or at the very least re-design it so it doesn't leave the wings drooping, and prone to unintentional ejection while on display.
  21. I thought PayPal wasn't even an option with them anymore? Maybe they got reinstated, but I believe PayPal actually blacklisted them for how many claims they were getting.
  22. Eh.. maybe we'll get lucky and they'll overstock on that one like they did with the WalMart-exclusive Tie Fighter. Think it retailed for $80, and I wound up getting one at Dorkside for $30 months later.
  23. Man does that ever bring back memories. My first Star Wars kit from the early 90s, and I remember all the fuss involved in making that cockpit something more recognizable. I did finally find out the reason for the ugly cockpit a few years back though. As bad as it was for what we saw in the movie, MPC designed that kit completely based on the filming miniatures. After seeing some photos of those once, the stock cockpit really isn't bad for what the filming models had, which was mostly kitbashed from ~1/24 scale car models. If you think about it, the wide-armed pose and full-head helmet really do have a pretty good resemblance to a NASCAR driver. Really though, considering the kit came out in 1978, it still holds up really well. Think it was one of my first kits with engraved panel lines.
  24. Youch.. The only one I ever saw close to that price was the first release electronic one for $75 (which I bought on clearance at $25). All of the non-electronic ones past that were in the $30-$50 range, I thought. That's a huge jump.
  25. To be fair to the animators, they're usually in the shadow of the plane. I think the only time we've ever seen any clearly non-white gear in Macross was the VF-19P hangar scene, where they're clearly a medium gray, with minty-green bays. Going to spoiler this part to avoid looking too ranty, because honestly, the metal gear itself bothers me less than Bandai's general attitude about things like this. Anywho, long story short, I wish Bandai would stop clinging to nostalgia (or any other misguided preference for oddball inaccuracies) as an argument against making something correctly. Remember how long they still put the incorrect 1/55-style chest stripes on all of their VF-1Js? Like, seriously, even Toynami got that right before they did. During the whole backwards number thing, I kept wishing someone would go and spray paint Bandai's corporate logo backwards on the back-facing side of their headquarters, just to exemplify how stupid their "symmetry" argument was.
