There's been quite a few of the gender-switched versions posted recently in livejournal. All have been pretty good so far... shows not only how easy it's getting to bend sound but also how good the arrangements are that they can work for male voices.

It's a secret tactic by the board to recruit more members? XD Um seriously? These kinds of threads seem to just attract girls. Because we like to argue our pairings to the degree that we will sign up for other places JUST to argue them XD The trick is to keep them interested enough in the show and the forums to stay once the show resolves.

livejournal generally shows a preference for Sheryl for the first 72 hours. Then I suspect the sockpuppets join in and start changing the stats. (Seriously, go revisit that thread in a week or so and see if everything is blown away. I personally think the polls need IP tracking.) On another note, to the original poster... I wasn't trying to diss the timing. I just thought it was so funny. Episode 20 was possibly the most extreme portrayal of Ranka seen so far . Her character went from brave to well.. not having an adult moment, whereas Sheryl changed from depression to determination. The timing of the poll absolutely is going to affect its outcome.

Weird thought I had while driving to work... Is there any significance to both Brera and Ranka having amnesia? Ranka we have heard called "The Queen" by some , including Grace. Brera has been called at least once "The Prince" by Grace as well. And what if both of them start to remember everything about their past? ... My feeling is that Brera's memories are another essential plot device to resolving the storyline. And still wish that we could get one of the "guys" of the show to sing ... or both. As many fans speculate about a RAnka/Sheryl duet, it'd be more randomly interesting to actually have it turn into a duet with the guys. XD (Of course, that might just make me vomit too... depending on how it's done.)

Michel's death is a means to advance the development of two largely shapeless blobs known as Alto and Luca. To bring him back negates the need for the plot and character development. As a writer, I don't see the point of doing that literally. The best I could rationalize is absorption by the Borg... i mean... the Vajra Hive.

Nice. With the nicer raws out, I can see the beautiful timing of that tear at the end much better and Sheryl's shiny shiny earring. I love the ending. I love how Sheryl found a purpose in singing. It doesn't change her situation, but in spite of it, I'm glad she took the opportunity to sing out what others were feeling and offer them some comfort. Previews show some good animation coming up. (I was immediately struck by the shot of Alto running. With faces being so off last episode, and some really 'static' scenes, I was pleased by the panning shot of Sheryl at the end of this episode, as well as how well animated Michael and Klan's last scene were.)

lol. it's okay. I attempted to start an "Alto" thread weeks ago and it died out. Maybe we should go back to that thread and speculate? But I agree that Alto's cluelessness is not completely 100%. I think he doesn't want to see what he's seen. Either that or he's been intentionally handled this way by the writers to draw out (until the bitter end) the question of "who to choose" in classic anime tradition so we all hang in there speculating our brains about. But yes... back to the fanart. I'ma ttempting to draw Alto singing in very terrible idol fashion. We'll see how that one works

On the other hand, if I can be literal, at least it won't end like Zero with a ??????? and a "Wait, huh?"

Yeah. Kawamori is an excellent director and has excellent writers, as attested to by how even if we see the signs of something coming, we're a> still upset it happens and b> still upset afterwards it has happened. Given the propensity to I was still affected. Emotional manipualtion by writers ... very good compared to a lot of other "shonen" concepts out there currently.

Oh ack. I hate it when certain speculations come true. And yeah, DC has a different musical underscoring (more acoustic, more sparing)... also pacing of the vocals has changed. Very nice. I want this version.

Considering that 85% of the boards here and other places drool over Sheryl, I'm wondering if Alto is just really dense or intentionally dense.

it definitely has a classic 80s feel to it. There are some small issues with hand positions, but on the whole it's a nice piece of work!

Are there any characters not on this list? Like Bobby? I bet more people would be pissed over a Bobby death than any of the other incidental characters...

Thanks ChillyChe! Keeping that sort of sketchy concept in mind, I'm playing with a new software now to digitally sketch... but finishe din my usual platform (painter). Thought I"d agitate some AxR shippers into doodling.

I think it was more like "I'm trying hard, too. Watch me." I think folks are reading too much into the stunt. If ALto made the arrow, it sounds like Michael made the heart. So if we're going to be obtusely literal here, that means Michael also <3s Ranka. Alto really has no clue what he's doing and that is the reason ultimately Michael has to tell him to choose. That and I'm sure he's aware that to his knowledge SHeryl has very little time left. Prior to that, I'm still more touched by the conversation between Alto and Sheryl... or rather fight... where Alto more or less tells Sheryl "Well I'm going to be at RAnka's live, I expect you there." It was sad to see Alto and Sheryl bicker like that when Sheryl really wants him to come to her on his own, but (I think if she has interpreted everything so far) would be discouraged to say anything beyond that. If I were her, I'd be so utterly confused by everything at this point that a confession would probably not come from her because her pride (if he denied) would be shattered. It would take a massive emotional recovery for her to be able to bear that rejection. So I don't see her confessing without some provocation. (OF course if someone offs it in the next episode, I could see a few scenarios -- particular if it's Michael. Klan Klan could push the situation. SHe's the only one who understood Sheryl so far and having seen the events of the "Date" is most likely to pick up the slack for Michael and beat the crap out of Alto.) But back to that act, I saw it like Alto subconsciously wanting Sheryl not just to rally herself but to hopefully be reminded of her passion for singing, and perhaps also be there to see him perform. It's hard to say because again, Alto doesn't know squat about himself which means we the viewer are going to be also confused until we see how the decisions play out in this final end run to this arc. As for Leon... beh. My estimation of his character dropped this episode again. He needs to doublecross Grace otherwise he's just a powerhungry guy with funny Miyazaki-anime type hair.
