  1. LOL... seriously, i had to look that up ... poor Kakizaki, another reason why his greeny valk can't join the group... i know why you liked that shot (see circled part in pic)
  2. finally, somebody else who can see the value in doing preventive measures... although... 30secs. to 1min. was all i needed to soak the hinge in oil. also, if it does get a little loose due to sanding down too much of the knurling, you could just put a dab of super glue in the area where the knurling part used to be... since the pin was fastened to the plastic via the knurling in the first place.
  3. just some quick shots of my FP-less Max 1S before i'm off... w/ Hikaru and Roy. and a crappy foolin' around pic, lol
  4. COOL! ... bit pricey for me, but w/ all the gimmicks + the stand, i am very tempted. wonder how many will buy multiples of this to display in diff. configurations...
  5. i've been wondering about this for a while now... how much do stores/distributors sell these limited items for? can't they sell them at the same price as what's on the website?... or is it that they don't get their usual "wholesale" price since the quantities are limited? what i've noticed for the limited 1/48s is that stores sell them +100-ish USD more than the website price...
  6. same as MS, Bandai won't stop doing what they're doing and will remain the top dog coz everybody keeps lapping up whatever they churn out... just the way it is...
  7. nah... i've learned my lesson... i actually got my GN-Us on sale for about 65% of the retail price, but i still felt duped when when the figure+add-ons were announced and the prices of the first ones dropped even more (below 50%). so, a definite no for me... its just another thing i can definitely live without...
  8. well, there you have it for those who thought that 14,800 yen was reasonable... pretty sure that a majority of the 300 units will be bought and sold at a much higher price...
  9. ... and have Yamato dupe me again?!? no siree... my 1/60s have the FPs so that's fine w/ me...
  10. meh... just got my 1S Max and i like it just the way it is... wait... what happened to the weathered VF-1J? i don't see it on Yamato's website...
  11. thank god for digital photography then...
  12. that don't look like vaporware to me... great job! ... i wonder how it will look on somebody's head???
  13. thanks all ... but, lol , i had to take, like, 10-20 shots just to get that one nice shot...

  16. thanks... thanks... still learning... the challenge for me now is providing good indoor lighting in our very dimly lit house... might need to buy some stuff...
  17. thanks! took me a little while to figure it out. yep. technically it's my wife's cam, i just chipped in a little so i can get to use it sometimes on my toys ... unfortunately, it's not a DSLR coz we couldn't really afford to buy additional lenses coz we mainly plan to use it to photograph the kids from a good distance, like, the back row of an auditorium or from a beach shore to 20-30 ft out... but we're still having fun playing around w/ it esp. fiddling w/ all the manual settings... i can finally sort of understand all that talk about iso, aperture, shutter speed etc. lol .
  18. the part where the front landing gear is stowed.

  21. i have only been reading this thread since the title is a bit intimidating... esp. for photography newbies who don't own a DSLR (and don't really want to take the plunge due to the foreseeable massive costs involved after getting the starter kit) ... however, i appreciate the lessons and tips and the really nice pictures that have been posted so far... i have never really been into photography, but i really appreciate looking at nice photographs... here's a couple that i particularly like that were taken w/ our new "soccer mom" cam. while i find it easier to shoot outdoors, i have to admit that shooting indoors w/out the use of a flash is a lot harder, esp. when your place doesn't have a spot which is very well lit.
  22. looking more closely, i noticed that the 21's head turret came out looking like it was made from solid gold... nice.
  23. 21 looks better that the 25th Anni. pretty, pretty pics... (waiting for the VF-11B pic to come next...)
  24. lol, i was waiting for someone to make this comment... ... and what is w/ those markings that look like a flower flanked by 2 hearts???
