  1. You and me both March, you and me both. Though being an engineering student, if I had the time, I could try to figure out if the VF-1 was aerodynamically feasible. However I don't think I have had the high enough education to do that much, and besides... I'm an engineering student... I have no free time...
  2. Where can I see this video? If it is on youtube I'll look but a link would be nice. EDIT: Nvm, I found it. Wasn't that hard.
  3. That's not fair, Basara is clearly right handed in the show. That last picture is all wrong, lol. Not to mention the one you labeled as Basara is playing a base, and you labeled Mylene as the main guitar, when they are in actuality the other way around. To be clear on where I stand: BOMBAA!!!
  4. You just have to watch M7 differently than the others. It isn't a parody, it just has a different tone. It helps a lot if you really like Fire Bomber music (and by association Fukuyama-san's music, of which I am a huge fan now thanks to M7). I was actually able to get into the whole song energy concept, even if the entire idea behind it makes little sense scientifically., on a psychological level such a thing can have an impact.
  5. Ok, that is what I figured it was. Usually best seller games like that in U.S. aren't listed as releasing separately later, I just notice they are there one day, lol. Since I plan to get a PSP some time in the next month maybe that version of the fame would be the best for me to buy.
  6. I thought the sequel was called Macross Ultimate Frontier. That listing was still using the name of the first game with (PSP the Best) added on to it.
  7. I know what that is like. More like for me no one was actively hiring at all, lol.
  8. On several online stores I've seen listings for Macross Ace Frontier which is of course already out, and something called Macros Ace Frontier (PSP the Best) which has a September release date for this year. Is this is re-release of Ace Frontier with extra stuff or something? Perhaps just the same game with a best seller tag?
  9. Alas, poor Yorick, I knew... myself?
  10. That I can respect. Mostly because I really love Fukuyama music more than it being a Macross thing. Though sometimes with this music I really wonder if there is something to this song energy thing, lol.
  11. It is almost ironic that your so close and they only sell goods via shipment. Actually that may just be a coincidence. C'est la Vie
  12. Depends if that actually have a local shop or if the business just ships everything. I don't know, but it sounds like a plausible system. I still have yet to buy any flexi-stands... I only have one yamato valk and a VF-25 model. I think I'll be encouraged to get the set of 3 stands after I end up getting that VF-1S Max... whenever that happens.
  13. I can't say I've gone too far... I only got into Macross about a few years ago at best, but it has become one of my biggest interest. I only have one Yamato Valkyrie, a Bandai VF-25 model. Anything I bought (media-wise, the Valks came from Japan/Hong Kong) was available in America, and people know as I've said, I downloaded a few things. Guess I certainly can't compete with the real hardcore fans then. I haven't gone too far out of my way. Like I said though, I wasn't that hugely into Macross about 3 years ago, I sort of just jumped into it head first. Maybe if I was a longer time fan I would have gone out of my way and actually bought more of everything. Who knows?
  14. Yeah, Zod was a bit obvious for this crowd. I always though Zod was so funny what with the commanding and the planet Houston. Hmm... a Zod valk is an interesting idea. A good reason to support a 1/60 Stealth even though many in the Flexi stand thread don't want it.
  15. I was thinking more like... KNEEL BEFORE ZO... I mean HIKARU. A free internet cookie to anyone that gets that reference. Although there are less young ignorant members here than other boards I frequent.
  16. Well, this topic sure has launched off. I think I've said everything I need to say though. I don't care to debate things regardless of what I or others believe. If it matters to anyone's interest by the way, I bought my copy of Macross Plus the movie, only ever seen the OVA as the English dub on TV, and only seen SDFM either as Robotech or online through low quality streaming (not downloaded though) - same for M7 and it's appendages. So I probably have only downloaded about 40% of the Macross stuff that exists. Not that that makes it anymore legit or anything, just saying, I'm not totally bad.
  17. You know I didn't even know this topic had a connection to me at all before this post? I just decided to look at it because I was curious to what it was referring. I would be the first person to say that it is worth paying money to support a music artist or an industry you'd like. Of course you would then ask why I was wanting to know if there was a torrent for that concert since the price was high for me to buy it? Well to tell you the truth, I am not above hypocrisy. I don't think I was being a hypocrite though. I only asked that because I had never seen Fukuyama-san perform anything on stage save for some bad quality youtube videos. I just wanted to see it since I've become such a big fan. I'm not saying me wanting to see it makes downloading a torrent right versus actually buying it though. I guess I don't have a definite idea of where I stand. I do know that I am full willing to buy an import Fukuyama-san's CD albums to hear more form here, and I plan to... when I can afford it anyway. As for Macross itself. I do have the entire Macross Frontier with Thora subs downloaded. I have DYRL as well, and Zero. Do I have an excuse beyond couldn't afford to buy them? Not so much, other than buying them wouldn't give me subs, and I'm not technically inclined enough to figure out how to add subs to a DVD (I don't even have Blu-Ray capability, still haven't fully gotten into HD age yet). Does that make it perfectly fine to get the shows the way I did, without paying? Not really. I guess you could say I am not much of a perfect man, but I never considered myself much of one anyway. It is really about whether I can live with it enough for myself I suppose. I'll let others make their judgments about me as they see fit. Is there a point I'd draw the line like the original poster first poised? Well I did say I plan to buy Yoshiki Fukuyama's albums, but that was more beside the point. I don't plan to download any of the other concerts, but that isn't really on moral grounds, I just felt it unnecessary after the one I did. As for Macross, I truthfully don't see how I'd see it otherwise, especially when I don't know if I'll like every series or every episode before I bought it on DVD. So I guess I draw a line between not knowing if it is worth me buying it and it being worthy enough for me to spend my time downloading in torrents just to be able to see it. It may sounds morally ambiguous, but I at least I know where I stand.
  18. OT: No, but I consider myself apart of the 47 society these days (I don't think they have an actual membership). Star Trek plays up that number a lot too. You can split the sub, audio, and video files with MKVextractgui or something similar and then edit the sub files with Aegisub to delete all the song lyric subs. The karaoke subs for the opening and ending are hard subbed so those won't go away, but most of the song lyric subtitles during the episode can be deleted. After that you probably will need a program that can mux the files back together into an .mkv container. If you just split the sub files out of the episode it only makes a copy and the original episode will still have the unedited sub files inside it. Like I said earlier though the crazy lyric animations don't play in WMP if you can stand that player so it will work there without needed to get rid of anything, which is easier. I'd like to get rid of whatever causes the animations, then I could play it in MPC without lag. However I am not quite sure how that stuff works. I imagine Aegisub can edit subtitle font sizes, but I've never tried it.
  19. Well.. I do go to an engineering school. However you may have a point there.
  20. I certainly wouldn't have any trouble finding one then, lol. I have to actually get a 1/60 v2 valk first though...
  21. I'll have to keep that in mind. I was so used to using the K-Lite Codec pack because it had everything I thought I needed (including MPC). However I am fine with using WMP for Frontier due to this problem. I just got so used to MPC because it works easier with matroskas usually. EDIT: First post on Page 47, woot! That doesn't really mean anything but I like the number 47, lol. It is the quintessential random number! This page isn't really random though.
  22. Honkhet, not that I would bother since I don't think the Yamatos really need panel lining (although it would look cool), is there a reason why Gundam Markers are bad for the 1/60 v2s? I suspect different plastics from the 1/48. I am just curious.
  23. Ooh... in running my test I realized something. The episodes only lag during the songs on Media Player Classic. They plan just fine on Windows Media Player though. I've found out why too, when they play on Media Player Classic the Japanese Karaoke subs are animated (they darken in color each syllable as the person sings the line) but in Windows Media Player the animation doesn't happen, it just displays the subtitles. So I was wrong, it isn't the song subtitles causing the problems, it is the animation in the song subtitles! So for some reason WMP doesn't show those animations so the episode plays just fine there. I wonder if there is a way to turn off those animations... That is a little more advanced for me than just deleting subs... At least they play fine in one player, I don't have to do anything then.
  24. I ran a test with the K-Lite Codec pack to verify this. My test just consisted of my turning the subtitles on and off during play. I found that all the subtitles for the songs, English and Japanese karaoke turned off only if the song was during the episode, like a character singing. I found however you are correct with the OP and ED subs. When I turned all subtitles off I still see the Japanese karaoke subs during the opening and ending songs but the English ones are gone. This means they hard subbed the karaoke lyrics to the opening and ending but any other song lyric subtitles are soft subbed. This means I can use Aegisub to edit and delete any song subtitles so the episode doesn't lag during songs. Another part of my test proved is it that causing the problem because when no subtitles were on screen during parts that always lagged with song subs, the video ran smoothly. I hope that getting rid of the song subs will be enough since the video never lags when normal speech subs are displaying and there is no song. I'll find out by testing the edit on a copy of one of the episodes, therefor if I mess up, I can start over and if it works I can do it to the main files. nhyone: Thanks for the tip, the above test I ran was based on your suggestion of course. I don't know why I didn't think of that. Aegisub seems able to edit the sub files in the episode without separating them from the video file itself, so I'll proceed without doing so unless I find out I cannot save the edits without separating the sub files. EDIT: Looks like I will have to separate the files in order to edit them properly, no problem, I'll look up one of the programs mentioned earlier. Looks like my editing will work though.
  25. So is the weathered 1S max really limited then? I imagine it is quite more expensive than the normal one if so. I just want to get a 1S max. Then I'll have that representing DYRL Max, and my 1/48 VF-1J representing TV max. It may not be all the Max birds but I'm poor and not a completionist so it is fine by me. I see it as having all his final mechs... not counting the Q-Rau... or the VF-22...
